I somehow do not think so as 2 AP drugs, an AC drug and an ADHD drug smack of desperation and cocktail mixing to me, Im not surprised he needs Colace with that cocktail but why the ADHD drug - if hes on both AP's he is likely going to be so sedated that there's little chance of ADHD episodes.
2nd question is how old is your grandson?
I have never been on a true ADHD stimulant, but was tried on Topamax as a different sort of migraine prophylaxis medicine. This was before I even knew I had ADHD. I noticed my thinking speeding up and I became very smart and quick, but also very impatient with people, quick to snap at them, and had worsening ruminations where I could not stop trying to problem-solve things outside my control at work.
My son currently takes vyvanse for his adhd wich seems to be helping him alot in school,but he has been taking geodon and clonidine for about 6 weeks or so and he has become alot more aggressive once he vyvanse weres off he is totally out of control phyc says leave him on it since he gets good sleep but everything i a constant fight and he tears everything up wich he did prior to the meds but he just seems worse could he be taking the wrong mix of medicines or does it just take more time worried
Told him the Geodon helped immensely and he wanted to place her on Dexidrene for the daytime (taken 2-3 times a day) and wanted to wean the Geodon and replace with Abilify or Seroquel (this one would be taken twice a day).
He is not making any decisions until he speaks to her geneticist at some point today or tomorrow and then will call in the prescriptions.
This is exhausting and there is really no one for me to talk to about my fears for her future or advice on what to do next.
I take 60mg of geodon, 40mg of vyvanse everyday for bipolar 2 and adhd. For about the past year I have been unknowingly talking what I think out loud. I make involuntary sounds and get strange looks when in public. I only hear the thoughts in my head but I cannot tell when I am saying them out loud. It is very stressful and has caused me to avoid social interaction for fear of saying something wrong.
but didnt realize I was in a agitated mixed state till I did my research about it and discovered he was right on....I was started on geodon 60mg in the am and pm...and what a difference!!! I stoped self medicating and the anger is gone....and I have been doing more things lately with my kids and husband they are so happy to see me comming back...I was also started on Vynase for adhd and that has also helped...
So I'm taking 40mg of Geodon for bipolar, though no psychotic symptoms. Now I know bipolar alone should deter me from taking mushrooms, and honestly I'm sure it will. And I know mixing recreational drugs with psychatric meds is a bad idea. Nevertheess, I have a question concerning the interaction between Geodon and psilocybin. From what I've read, psilocybin is an agonist to the 5HT2 serotonin receptor, which I assume means that it increases serotonin.
I have been on Wellbutrin off and on for 10 years, on Cymbalta for 4-5 years and Geodon for 4 years. I have been on Geodon 40 mg at times, but recently for the last year or so, on 20 mg. Recently, my psychiatrist bumped me up to 40 mg again. It seems like the last time I was on 40 mg, I also had anxiety and obsessive thoughts. I am currently taking Geodon, Cymbalta, Lamictal and Geodon. Recently I've had times when I've seen things that weren't what they really were. I'm wondering if this is psychosis. They're not like hallucinations, just sort of like I'm in a fog, not with it. I also have trouble with my understanding when someone is saying something to me, like a delayed reaction, feeling kind of slow. I really wonder if I need both mood stablizers.
I'm bipolar 1 and have been on 160 MG of geodon for 16 yrs and it has stopped working for me.
I went a few months without any medication, before receiving a prescription for Geodon. GEODON IS A TERRIBLE DRUG. I took 20 mg a day for four days, and during those four days (and for several days after) I experienced lightheadedness/feeling faint, headache, nausea, loss of appetite, akathesia, irregular/rapid heart beat, racing thoughts, EXTREME anxiety, insomnia, and flu like symtoms. All of these were so debilitating, it was difficult for me to even get up and walk around.
I have been on Geodon for about two years and my hair is coming out in handfuls.
One week ago a psychiatrist put me on 300mg Lamictal pm (without titration), 20mg Geodon pm, 1mg Intuniv pm, 10mg Ambien pm, 15mg Focalin am, and 40mg Vyvanse am for ADHD and bipolar. Prior this regimen I wasn't on any medications. Today I had to call an amulance as my resting pulse shot up to 140bpm and my blood pressure went up to 166/90. I thought I was going to die. As well, my lymph nodes are swollen and a bleeding rash has started to form on my hand.
Any medication can sometimes take a week or two or longer to take full effect while some will take effect instantaneously. It all depends on the person of course. When I took Geodon I sometimes would "drool and stumble" figuratively for the former (felt really dumb some days) and literally for the latter (dragged my feet and sometimes felt drunk).
Today is my fifth day on Geodon and I have been doing massive research on it to find out as much as I can about its pharmacology and effects. My question is: if Geodon causes constipation, will taking a stool softener decrease its absorption? Also: I understand it must be taken with food, what fiber/fat gram goal should be met before taking it?
There is a cautionary note to alert the doctor if there is a history of seizures on Geodon. I am assuming that your psychiatrist is seeing both you and your son as his patients. When prescribing meds or treatment, if there are any concerns or noteworthy precautions regarding the meds or treatment, information like instructions on what to watch out for and information is given along with the prescription of treatment.
When I looked up weight gain and bipolar medications, Abilify was at the bottom of the list for weight gain, Geodon people gained the least then Abilify. I'm on 2mg. of Abilify and in the begining you tend to feel sleepy, that's why they start you on it at bedtime. I would be surprised if Abilify caused a racing heart but you definately have to tell your doc about that. I was also on Wellbutrin and had to come off because it caused to much anxiety.
but i keep getting a notice that all the questions that can be asked for the day have been used, that no more questions addressed to this doctor can be asked for that particular day. what do i do? i need to ask him about medication-related chills or sensations of cold that i want to cease.
