Common Questions and Answers about Generic zyrtec for kids

zyrtec

Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
689528 tn?1364135841 10mg every day for the first five days and then every other day for the next five, in addition he gets a generic Zyrtec everyday. Now he just gets a zyrtec every day, and if his allergies act up beyond the zyrtec's control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves!
Avatar f tn Yes, I asked my midwife if claritin is ok. She said yes, as well as zyrtec and benadryl.
Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Avatar n tn Hi, the drugs you have mentioned are Histamine H1 Antagonist, belonging to Second Generation. These are newer anti histaminics which are devoid of sedation. That is the main advantage over the first generation anti histamines. Both are mainly used in treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria. Headache and drowsiness are side effects seen with loratidine. Whereas headache and vomiting with fexofenadine.
Avatar m tn My 5 year old has been picking her scabs on and off for a year now. She seems to have seasonal allergies also. I have noticed when she is on generic Zyrtec for the allergies she doesn't pick as much or stops all together. Then after a meeting with her teacher it was brought to my attention that when she is picking a lot her school work suffers.
Avatar n tn Hi, What did your doc say? WELCOME .. you've gotten great info above! Clariten works well .. but not the greatest for food allergies for my kids; but if it's working for you go for it LOL! Also, long-term usually is ok if ok by your doc! How are you doing now?
4178478 tn?1350667364 If you have an allergist call and all them. I believe you can take ceterizine it is the generic of zyrtec i believe and it's class b. Or over the counter chlortrymeton(spelling) id what my OB suggested for my allergies when they were driving me nuts.

Avatar n tn I went and seen a doctor about this and was told I have allergies, I was perscribed the generic for singulair for 10 days, and zyrtec for about 2 weeks to see if I got better. 1161616 tn?1262747549 I am allergic to pcn. I am taking Depo Perva injection, Zyrtec-D qhs, Fluticasone 16GM bid (generic for Flonase,) Nitrofurantion100MG qhs (generic for Macrodantin,) & Ibuprofen 200MG as needed for inflammation.I have been experiencing almost constant swelling of my hands accompanied w/ an intermittent tingling sensation. I have frequent urination, extreme thirst, & bloating. I seem to be exhausted 90% of the time. I also have lots of varicose veins in both my legs.
Avatar f tn //www.healthline.com/health/childrens-health/zyrtec-child-allergies#talk-with-your-doctor Flonase is a bit different. I assume you were also buying that over the counter? This too is generally regarded as safe but is recommended to only be used 2 months out of the year unless your doctor has said otherwise. It's a nasal steroid. These have been associated with usually insignificant slowing of growth. https://www.post-gazette.
Avatar f tn I was currently on clyndomisin for a tooth infection as well. Sometimes over the counter Zyrtec generic for allergies. Other than that I have no idea where these results came from. The doctor uses a in home lab called "infinity lab" so I refused to take these results when I have never used such medication in my life. I made her send the next to lab foto. I'm curious if anyone knows why this could have happened..: and what caused it?!
1274661 tn?1301868321 I already take zyrtec and rhinocort for allergies on top of all of the other meds I take for pain and reflux. I am seeing an allergist in August and I am going back to my pcp tomorrow for the millionth time. Any advice?
Avatar f tn He also recommended a generic Zyrtec for the tougher days or seasons, and baby and I are fine at 24 weeks. Healthy mama makes healthy baby in most cases, so don't be afraid to discuss this with your doctor even before you conceive.
Avatar f tn I am moderately allergic to dog based on skin testing. For the past two years, I took Zyrtec (generic version) everyday because of closer proximity to the dog due to a smaller apartment. My dog was recently put down due to health issues. I decided to switch from Zyrtec to Claritin because my mild asthma symptoms diminished and Claritin packs less of a punch. I started developing mosquito-like bumps on my hands and wrists.
Avatar m tn In the past I have taken Zyrtec, Claritin, and Xyzal....Zyrtec seems to work best for me. You can get both Zyrtec and Claritin over the counter, and both come in a generic form (I take the generic form of Zyrtec). This helped my allergies tremendously, I would recommend taking one daily while your symptoms are in full-force, and then backing off to just whenever it's needed when your symptoms settle down.
10843549 tn?1425096623 Took generic medicine for zyrtec, allergies DM, for about 1 week 1/2. Felt better and thats what pharmacist recommended.

2022859 tn?1342283129 I had the same problem as you. Im allergic to grass which means summer lawn mowing makes me miserable! I bugged my midwife incessantly and she precribed me a generic allergy medicine (its the same as claritin) she also gave me a nasal spray because i was complaining so much lol. Thankfully my allergies have died down but when they get really bad i take my allergy medicine.
Avatar f tn I take zyrtec (generic) but my best friend is saline spray ...over the counter!!
Avatar f tn 100$? Ask for generic brand ondanestron which I paid 15$ for 60 pills it's same exact thing. And my morning sickness didn't stop until 18 weeks :( plus zofran will help u or not it helped me some days n some days it was useless.
Avatar m tn Do you have any other known allergies, or health issues?
Avatar m tn She has taken Benadryl ( 75 mg twice a day for a month ), then three Zyrtec a day for 3 to 4 weeks, now she is taking Claritin ( three a day ). No real relief. She took prednisone for two weeks while taking Zyrtec, and got complete relief. But, the scratching, biting started again as we were weaning her off the prednisone ( when she was down to one tab every other day ). The next drug we are considering is cyclosporine. I am seeking any one's experience with this treatment. Please advise.
