they had no effect i then left for madrid,spain for about a week when i returned and went to the emergency room i was vomitingdown to bile and allthough i had been constipated for the whole trip in spain i suddenly started having water like bowel movements. when i went to the emergency room they first gave me an x-ray and said my pancreas was swolen then they gave me a contrast ct-scan in wich the said my boweld were swolen they diagnosed me with collitis. when i went and saw a gastro.
The protocol when I was taking them was to use lead numbers on the film plate and on an x-ray log (written in a bound book) the settings employed before taking the shot. I am not stating what you describe did not happen, however there appears to be many missing pieces. I am not sure where you got the idea you were exposed at "1000 times the norm".
I have a dental appointment tomorrow and I know they may try to give me an x-ray. I'm 16 weeks now and this is my first pregnancy. I went to the dentist earlier this year and they didn't want to do an x-ray because I was in my 1st trimester. Is it really safe to have one done now?

They did numerous tests. My blood pressure was 77/41. They did a cat scan of my sinuses, face and head. x-ray of my chest. Blood tests. bun urea was low and alkaline phosphate was low. They did a urine test and culture which were normal. besides chills and inability to stay warm, i have been sleeping a lot more. Sometimes i sweat and my heart races. I have lost 58 pounds without trying in the past 1 and a half years. They can't find anything. Very sick.
I have several concerns about radiation. While there are a lot of sources that say dental X-rays have minimal radiation, etc. I am still a bit concerned, since I consistently get ill after getting dental x-rays.
I was wondering if there was any cap to radiation exposure built into the dental x-ray machines, or whether it was at the dentist's discretion how much radiation was used.
My little girls has scoliosis which is very mild, she had 3 or 4 X-rays at about 5-6 months and a chest X-ray at 4 years, they say the scoliosis isn't getting worse, better infact, but, I recently read a report saying there is a link with childhood cancer and x-ray and haven't been able to get my mind off it. I have also read reports saying there is no link with low dose X-ray but don't know what to believe now. Am I worrying irrationally.
My chest x-ray findings were as follows: Heart size is within normal limits. There is questionable vague increased opacity in the right suprahilar region. The left lung is clear. No pleural effusion is identified. No acute osseous abnormality is seen.
Impression: With the clinical history, the possiblility of early pneumonia is not excluded.
Can you tell me whether the fact that there are questionable vague increased opacity means that there is a mass in my lung?

Looking for advice, Had knee pain on and off for like 2 years last few weeks its been really bad when i bend down i cant get back up if i keep it bent for more than 15secs it throbs so bad there is also a boney lump at my tibia, I went to gp got sent for x ray it has came back showing bone hardening and bone narrowing. I have been refered to orthopedics but appointment is a month away and im worried.

Apical scar tissue in the lungs is usually due to healed tuberculous pathology. Prominent bronchovascular markings are usually an incidental finding.

The way I found out about it was that I asked them to send me copies of the x-ray reports. What are "SI joints"?
The issue of gas in the bowel, as brought up by doctornee, can also create difficulties.
The hospital staff know this, but remember that timely information is necessary, because x-rays are often requested as a means of differential diagnosis of life-threatening injuries.
Hospitals generally require an x-ray of the chest, but feel free to refuse this if you have come in for hospitalization for a broken foot, for example.
