Avatar f tn I had gastroenteritis about 10 days ago. It seems to have finally settled down. But I have really bad acid reflux since. My doctor suggested I increase my omeprazole 20mg to twice a day which have done for 5 days now but it's still not getting any better. I wake up in morning with a mouth full if acid. Its horrid. Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar n tn If you are passing stools a lot and have stomach pain then in all probability you have either food poisoning or gastroenteritis. Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals. Drink plenty of fluids. Eat light, do not stay hungry but eat simple things like toast, porridge, cereals, crackers etc. Take ORS. Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting). Watch out for a day or two with this treatment.
Avatar m tn t eat much food at all, the smell of food makes me nauseous, I am getting heart burn all the time. I am drinking pleanty of water but eating no more than an egg cup full of food a day if I am lucky. I have lost a stone in weight and feel quite tired most of the time which is bugging me as I am a very active person. Does anybody have any idea what may be wrong with me? Any help would be appreciated.

Avatar n tn Hi, for three days I have had watery bright yellow diarrea, intense stomach pain, headache, and I haven't been able to eat anything, and can barely drink liquids. The pain is intense, it feels like there's a knot in my intestines, I feel really weak. I'm drinking electrolytes as much as I can, and I have regular medication that when I take it it makes the pain worse. Should I go to the ER or try to ride it out?
Avatar f tn On day 7 of a severe case of gastroenteritis. Everything seems to have calmed down, but once I try and eat anything stomach cramps start, which are unbearable. Sometimes followed by diarrhoea. Is this normal after a severe case of gastroenteritis or do I need to see my G.P again?
Avatar m tn I do think that there is concern (other than adding stress to your liver) that drinking could affect adherence to treatment. There is a difference between a drink once a month and a drink or more every day. During treatment with ribavirin and sovaldi, I couldn't imagine adding alcohol to the mix. Good Luck.
443974 tn?1224589328 might as well flush all that money and drugs down the john if I did that! But drinking BEFORE treatment???? Is that really that bad???? My liver function seems not that bad but how does that affect treatment and the virus???? My doc said everyone should abstain for at leaset 6 months before.....this is a recent unfolding on his part....of course he told me no alcohol ...no iron supplements no bloody spinach etc.... but who the heck knew he meant NO NO NON NOthing even at a wedding?????
Avatar n tn don't sweat it. start tx and get cured of this disease. then when you are 6 months post tx and you get the good news you are clear then go have a few drinks. of course only if you don't have serious liver damage.
Avatar f tn so no one told me having one or two glasses of wine would hurt my treatment. Im not a big drinker, never was, just socially. can take it or leave it.
Avatar m tn t call off but once or twice a year if that i have a question i have been really healthy never had much breathing problems sense right before Easter when i had really bad acid reflex had a stuffy nose off on over the winter thought it was from dairy products or might have been a side effect from the otc prilosec i was taking because i stopped the dairy and stopped taking the otc prilosec not knowing that it would have a rebound effect acid kept coming up in my throat when i was sleeping would c
Avatar f tn I went to the doc after 5 days. He said its just viral gastroenteritis. I looked up the condition and it says you have vomiting and/or diarrhea, but i have neither. I am worried it is appendicitis, but the appendix is on the right side, not left. I am really in pain but i am taking my meds as described. Does this sound like viral gastroenteritis to you? I am in such severe pain just laying here typing this and barely moving.. Please help. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hello, Diarrhea and vomitings can be provoked either by an intestinal infection or by illness somewhere else in the body. When they begin suddenly, the problem is usually gastroenteritis (or stomach flu), most often caused by a virus and sometimes by bacteria and parasites. Gastroenteritis is an irritation and infection of the digestive tract. It can often cause sudden and sometimes violent upsets and may be confused with spastic colitis.
Avatar f tn Iv tried natural remidies - fruit and veg, drinking mass amounts of water and fruit juices and cramming my diet with fibre. Medications - lactulose, senna, movicol and dulcolax all with no result! Dulcolax wakes me up in the middle of the night with cramps, cold sweats and mild diaohrea and goes on for hours still without completely emptying my bowels :( Had enough, im pysically ready to burst! Im feeling the need to go but when i get to the loo, nothing!
Avatar f tn It sounds like a bout of Gastroenteritis (stomach flu). I don' t think your FTM HRT has a role in this. Can you post some details, regarding your history of Epilepsy? Treatment, meds and any other details. Not that I believe, it has much to do with your symptoms in your post, but perhaps I can offer you some further insight.
1872406 tn?1320890391 We rescued a little kitten approx 6 weeks old who has been diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis. The prognosis by the vet is poor and I'm wondering if there is anything else we can do other than keep her hydrated and treat/prevent secondary infections. Please help- really appreciate any advice or past experience that you may have... Thanks in advance...
