Amoebiasis is another infection, which can cause similar symptoms. Other common causes are constipation and indigestion. So, don't worry and discuss these options with your doctor when you happen to meet him next time. Regards.

Avatar f tn I was hospitalized a few years ago with severe vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and dehydration. I was diagnosed with gastroenteritis and acute pancreatitis. This is the only major GI problem I have ever had. I am very slender, 105 pounds, so I was wondering if maybe it was normal to feel a lump during digestion just because I am skinny and it's easy to feel my anatomy, or if I should be more concerned. Thanks!

Avatar m tn My problems started 2 months ago, one night when I woke up with some abdominal pain. I though it was from a fruit juice I drank on the empty stomach that evening. Avatar m tn Your persisting symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting could indicate a viral gastroenteritis. The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. In the meantime take oral fluids and include plenty of yogurt in your diet.
Avatar n tn Yesterday morning after having breakfast ham/eggs in toast I had a dull ache in my stomach, later after a large lunch in a restaurant I started with UNIMAGINABLE abdominal cramping which ended with vomiting street side. The pain was so intense that I was doubled over and trying not to pass out. It took about 10-15 minutes for pain to subside enough for me to get in car and go home. The remainder of the day I had a dull ache and had 1/3 of a sandwich at about 9 p.m.
Avatar f tn It could also be food intolerance, both food allergy and food intolerance can cause symptoms of nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain. The difference being in food allergy the IgE antibodies are increased. If symptoms are acute it can even be due to an infection, gastroenteritis. So, if your symptoms persist consult your doctor for an evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
