around 2 months ago i started having cold/flu symptoms i tried to treat them herbally with umka cold care wich i found at wholefoods echinacea and emergen-c. they had no effect i then left for madrid,spain for about a week when i returned and went to the emergency room i was vomitingdown to bile and allthough i had been constipated for the whole trip in spain i suddenly started having water like bowel movements.
The doctor prescribed me amoxilin, an antibiotic for medication. He said the chest pain could be from a cold. They're hoping its not a infection in my lungs. My stomach pains are almost gone, but the chest pains are still remaining, and my cold symptoms worsened. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see how I feel, then i will decide whether to get a xray for my chest.
r n they did blood work n a ultrasound which came back normal. I was think gallbladder stones idk.. So doctor diagnose me with gastroenteritis prescribe me pain killers. N next morning with the dull pain that comes n goes. Ouch! Is it normal???? Im scared im praying to god to please let it not be nothing else..

You need to listen to your daughter's doctor and seek some professional help for yourself to help you move on. It sounds like she has a stomach flu, which is in NO way related to HIV.
Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?

But your persisting symptoms of vomiting could also indicate a viral gastroenteritis. The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. In the meantime take oral fluids.

But its specifically on my side, not my back or tummy. Its been a week since symptoms started. I would agree that it is far more likely that your symptoms are due to a gastroenteritis that ARS. I would say this is the case for three reasons. They are:
1. Your exposure was no risk. HIV is not spread without penetration and the simple act of getting a partner's genital secretions on you, even near a site such as your anus, is still no risk.
2. Your partner said he did not have HIV and most people do tell the truth about such things.

My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.

Green stools can be due to diarrhea caused by salmonella bacteria, certain food and food dyes, swallowed post nasal drip if there are associated cold symptoms, Giardia infection or due to viral gastroenteritis.

It could be a case of gastroenteritis (gut infection) which has led to diarrhea and vomiting. The main symptoms of gastroenteritis are diarrhea and vomiting although one or the other symptom may predominate.
If the symptoms persist (>1 day), worsen or lead to other complications you should consult your doctor who could order some tests such as stool examination etc.
In the meanwhile take rest and drink lots of fluids to avoid dehydration.
The prime one which needs to be ruled out is gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis is an irritation and infection of the digestive tract. It can often cause sudden and sometimes violent upsets and may be confused with spastic colitis.
Other possibilities are diabetes,cyclic vomiting syndrome,liver pathologies,ETEC infection and mesenteric adenitis.In my opinion,consulting a physician will be the best because without examination,I cannot confirm a diagnosis.

I have been having chills, inability to get warm, very sleepy, for about 4 weeks now. i have been to the doctors and to the hospital with no luck. They did all kinds of tests but came up with nothing. The only pain i have is a tooth and the dentist said that it would not be giving me these symptoms even though i need a root canal done. I don't know where to turn next. Very weak. I am on a Z-pak for the tooth for 4 days now but nothing is happening.
He spent the rest of the night intermittently vomiting (2-3 more times) and had a headache and was complaining he was cold. His stomach has been upset all daytogay but he has managed to keep down a few English muffins.
