Avatar n tn http://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV-Prevention/Gastroenteritis/show/2054898#post_9726311 Teak's reply wasn't harsh, it was honest, and many professionals have told you the same thing, including your daughter's doctor. You obviously have not been able to let this go. You need to seek professional help. Your daughter does NOT have HIV, and to continue testing her to quell your OWN anxiety is very very wrong.
Avatar m tn I have same symptoms r u cured ?
Avatar n tn day 4 I had a gastroenteritis, all my family had the same symptoms in the same time for 1.5 days(all specific symptoms to Gastroenteritis fever, vomiting, diarrhea for one day and fading down the last half day- maybe a norovirus) . >Day 7 i had the blood tests done - elevated transaminase levels. > week 3 conjunctivitis, > week 5.5 headache and fever up to 102 for less than a day. Next day i had a cold sore that healed in 1 week. > week 5.5 until week 6.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.

Avatar m tn Hello, doctors. I'm a young, sexually active gay male. From time to time I meet a man from the Internet and engage in safer sex practices like fellatio (mostly with me performing it) and mutual masturbation. I never engage in anal sex with these men, and I always, always ask about HIV status. My last test was two months ago and the result was negative. So, normally, I'm not very worried about HIV. However, I have a concern that I hope you can address.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar m tn If you had protected sex, chances of HIV are less. However, if condoms were used, then they can leak or burst. Yes, acute HIV infection can start within three days. However, shooting pain and diarrhea can be due to viral or bacterial gastroenteritis or stomach flu as well. I suggest, you get stool examined for infection.
Avatar m tn I had a high fever for a day followed by an onset of 6-7 days of recurring watery diarrhea. However, when I was HIV negative and my last sexual activity was in March. I always practice safe sex and when unprotected I have low to no risk exposure (oral sex) and I always get tested. Fast forward 4 weeks after my gastroenteritis incident I happened to have the misfortunate of having the condom slip out upon having sex. I may have been exposed to her vagina for roughly 30 seconds.
Avatar f tn HIV is never diagnosed through symptoms, as they can be confusing. The only way to know if you have HIV or not, is getting tested 28 days after the exposure, using a duo combo ag/ab test. If you go for a normal antibody test, it will be accurate 90 days after the exposure. All the best.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the forum. The STD risks associated with rimming (medical term analingus) have never been studied; all I can do is make reasonable judgments based on anatomy, and the frequency of various STDs carried in the anus and rectum. As you already seem to know, the main infections risked by analingus are viral and bacterial intestinal infections, not traditional STDs.
Avatar m tn You never had a risk in anything you engaged in.
Avatar m tn Hi. Good morning! Would some doctor please help me with this situation I'm going through? On November 4 I had a risky intercourse (receptive anal intercourse, the condom broke). 50 days later, on December 24, I had hives and angioedema (lips and eyes). I went to see my dermatologist. She diagnosed me with urticaria. She gave me betamethasone and loratadine. The same day, both the hives and the angioedema went away and did not come back.
Avatar n tn Gastroenteritis can be produced from viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, contaminated food or water or change in bacteria that normally live in the intestinal tract.Chest pain that you are having is due to radiation of pain. Take adequate fluids throughout the day. The BRAT diet (ie, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) or soft easily digestible semisolid diet can also be taken. You also need a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole. Hope it helps.

Avatar n tn Well certain viral infections can cause hemolyzed blood in urine. Check again in a day or two. If this persists then go back to your doctor. UTI and stone are the commonest cause. Cancers of urinary system or some drugs too cause blood in urine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn On day 7 of a severe case of gastroenteritis. Everything seems to have calmed down, but once I try and eat anything stomach cramps start, which are unbearable. Sometimes followed by diarrhoea. Is this normal after a severe case of gastroenteritis or do I need to see my G.P again?
Avatar f tn i would freak out over that idea being gastroenterology related as i read about HIV and saw that gastroenteritis or some sort might be an indication of HIV infection!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH.......... i have problems thinking i may be infected with HIV AIDS due to a low risk encounter... but apparently as per these online forums they deemed me a total NO RISK that I AM NOT INFECTED with HIV. but Anxiety IF it is true can certainly make you feel sick all the time.... and make you get really sick.
