Avatar f tn Extremely normal. Gastroenteritis (stomach virus) is inflammation. It can cause mild to extreme pains anywhere in your abdomen, though most feel it epigastrically. (The hollow right under your ribs, in your upper stomach) Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, malaise and general aches and pains. For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer.

Avatar f tn The sense of smell changes for some people on tx and he may be having an issue with the foods he attempts to eat, they just don't smell the same anymore. Try somethings that are served cold and not hot or warm, like chicken and tuna salads served on crackers or bread, raw veggies not cooked, cold hard boiled eggs not fried, cold pizza, salads and anything else you can think of that's not always cooked.

Avatar m tn I felt fine within a few hours, then went to the doctor and had everything checked and she said she thought it was Gastroenteritis. My vitals were all good. Since Tuesday I still hear groaning, creeky and bubbly sounds especially in the morning. Today for my cheat day I bought some cookies, but 20 minutes after eating them I ran to the bathroom. I also feel more anxious, worried these days with job issues...so overall I'm not sure if this is an IBS flare up, or colitis or what.

It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.
Avatar f tn s very frustrating and many times prevents me from eating the healthy foods I try to eat. I end up eating junk food, because these foods are what I feel I can tolerate & almost taste good (doughy type foods like pretzels, pizza). I try to drink more water as I know I don't drink enough. When I drink, I feel more nauseous. I stopped drinking coffee, tea & milk & eating meat. These foods/drinks no longer agree with me. I'm hoping to get off most of the meds. very soon.
Avatar m tn You may want to check out infomation on the American Partnership for Eosinophilic Disorders site. When someone has eosinophilic issues it typically doesn't disappear. You're unfortunately going to have to deal with it for your life time. It's basically considered to be an 'allergic' state. You need to find out what substances are triggering the response and avoid them.
Avatar m tn He flops back and forth between three meals a day if he feels he can eat them to five to six little meals a day if his stomach is upset. He has only lost about 25pounds but on a man that's 6'3" it makes a huge difference. His vomiting has got much better over the last year and the nausea comes and goes. I feel he is not getting enough calories and nor will he try to because of the stomach being too full which I understand.
Avatar n tn Stomach flu can cause indigestion and abdominal discomfort. Viral gastroenteritis can lead to nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The exact location of pain and other details will help in determining the accurate cause .Take light meals. Avoid spicy fried foods. If the symptoms are severe consult a gastroenterologist. Best of luck and regards!
Avatar f tn It could be related to a reaction to something in one of the meals/snacks from Nutrisystem, or more likely it could be a bout of stomach flu which is not really a flu. It's proper name is viral gastroenteritis. Usually gastroenteritis resolves within a few days. You should suspend the Nutrisystem program for now, stay hydrated and follow a bland diet-dry toast, rice broth or plain rice, bananas, applesauce also known as BRAT diet (acronym).
Avatar f tn It is not bright yellow, just lighter than a normal brown stool. I eat eggs, pretty healthy diet. I have read it can take months to fully recover from gastroenteritis. I do take xanax for anxiety.
Avatar f tn On day 7 of a severe case of gastroenteritis. Everything seems to have calmed down, but once I try and eat anything stomach cramps start, which are unbearable. Sometimes followed by diarrhoea. Is this normal after a severe case of gastroenteritis or do I need to see my G.P again?
591925 tn?1218982710 I've been having "upset" stomach for 4 days now. I feel naseated from time to time to the point I can't even eat, stomach feels gasy, I've had diarreah and loose stools, burping and gas. Sometimes I feel better, then not too long later I don't. I feel as if the gasy bloated part is toward the upper right/middle abdomen about an inch above my belly button.
Avatar n tn My diet is even more strict that this one and I have no problem finding foods to eat every day. You just have to get used to eating healthy. Steel cut oats for breakfast, sandwiches made on wheat-free bread for lunch, and stir-fried vegetables over brown rice for dinner. Fresh fruit for dessert. Get it?
Avatar n tn I experience the same easier-to-get-feel-full thing when I eat, too. I got a 27% gall bladder fraction on my HIDA, with pain and nausea--below normal, but not cause enough for surgery. For now, I chalk it up as a blessing...I am not underweight. Maybe I can finally lose enough weight and maybe then the symptoms will take care of themselves.
