Avatar f tn Hi, postinfection it will take sometime for the bowels to settle down, so give it time. Continue with your medications and avoid foods like milk and milk products, high fat or greasy food, foods that have a lot of fiber like citrus fruits and very sweet foods, such as cakes and sweets. Also, ensure to include organic yogurt with your meals, this promotes regrowth of normal intestinal flora. Regards.

Avatar n tn I'm on an even stricter diet. Doing your own cooking really is the answer. Whole Foods is a good store to try. Shop in the bulk foods section, because their bulk foods section doesn't cost any more than other stores with bulk foods costs. I find that the very foods that you're trying to avoid are so much easier to avoid when cooking my own foods.

1063764 tn?1272821064 I have read many things on different foods to avoid, such as broccoli, peaches, brussel sprouts, etc. I don't COMPLETELY stray from them, but if I have them it's very rare. I was just curious as to what I should do/eat before I have these tests redone, so there aren't any false results. I do not want to be put on a higher dosage of medication that I don't need. Thanks for any help.

535089 tn?1400673519 Hi to all. I was recently Hospitalized with Gastroenteritis/Colitis and was wondering if anyone could give me some options for a good food regiment (liquid diet) that would help calm the intestines. I have had a recent infection including Colitis, Gastroenteritis (sp). I would also like to know what the best OTC antacid might be to calm the tummy. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Sounds like you have Gastroenteritis which has probably been caused by eating contaminated food or if you have been in close contact to someone who has it and hygiene has not been strict. Always wash your hands having using the toilet and before eating any food. Always wash fresh fruit and vegetables before you eat them raw. Ensure that meat products are thorough cooked all the way through.

Avatar f tn In order to prevent the rise of lipase, you should pay attention to your diet in daily life, do not eat fried foods, also do not eat foods with high fat content. It is best to eat some fresh fruits and vegetables, and you can change your eating habits according to the specific situation.
569711 tn?1216876935 Hi, The stomach pain could be due gastritis, gastroenteritis, and viral infection of the stomach. It could also be food poisoning which can cause stomach pain and vomiting. You may have sprained your neck during sleep. I would suggest you to continue with the heat and ice therapy and take a mild OTC painkiller. For your stomach issues please consult a physician as you need to undergo a physical exam.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! I would recommend that you talk to your gastroenterologist about this.
Avatar f tn There's a nasty little amino acid out there called tyramine. It's in a LOT of foods, at different intensities, that's a HUGE trigger for me. Chocolate, red grapes and wines, cheeses, yeasty breads, and a bunch of other foods have high tyramine levels. What I did many years ago was Google "low tyramine diet" and go on an elimination diet where I didn't eat any of the foods listed. It was hard to find stuff to eat for a while until I learned how to think low tyramine.
Avatar f tn ve read on the internet, in books, and on my prescription bottle even for my Levothyroxine, as to foods to avoid. My sister has Hashimotos and saw a doctor that said it didn't matter what she ate since she has Hashimoto's. What is your opinion on this? No soy, or walnuts or other foods??
