Avatar n tn Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting). Take something for fever like acetaminophen. Watch out for a day or two with this treatment. If it does not help, consult a doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn my twelve year old son has been vomiting for the past week. He says he feels fine and he has a regular appetite. The only other symptom he has if that he is hurting on his right lower side. He has had no fever. The doctor checked his blood and urine this morning and said it all looks fine. Of course they won't keep him at school when he is vomiting. What could possibly be wrong that needs to be checked that the Dr. is missing?
Avatar f tn (The hollow right under your ribs, in your upper stomach) Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, malaise and general aches and pains. For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer. You can still pass the virus through your stool for 2 weeks or so and it can survive on surfaces for a long time too. Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot.
Avatar f tn I have emetophobia. I have since taken two more zofran and Pepto. No vomiting or diarrhea, but I did wake up with a bad headache. I haven’t eaten a lot lately. Does this mean I will be sick for a longer period of time? How will the virus shed?

Avatar n tn Hi Dr HHH, I'd posted a question a few months ago in regards to my daughter. She has a blood transfusion (4 units) and I was concerned about possible HIV exposure. After being told by you no worries because everything is tested thoroughly now but if I was still worried to talk to her Dr. I spoke with her Dr. about my concerns. He tested her at 3.5 weeks and it was negative. He also told me no worries he was 99.

Avatar n tn I went to my doctor yesterday because my stomach wasn't feeling well and I had a loose bm with two spots of bloody mucus. (thats why I went). He told me that I have a mild case of colits due to an intestinal bug going around. He told me to go on a liquid diet for 72 hours but to call if it gets worse or I get a fever. Did your doctor suggest an anibiotic? Did he/she ask you to moderate your diet?

Avatar m tn t really a common ARS symptom (though fever and muscle aches are). The vomiting and abnormal bowel movements seem more in line with gastroenteritis to me, but I'm not sure about the fever, muscle aches, and chills. I did eat a caesar salad about twenty-four hours before the onset of the illness, so I guess it could conceivably be salmonella poisoning. Do you agree that gastroenteritis is more likely than ARS? Thanks for your input.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar n tn The prime one which needs to be ruled out is gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis is an irritation and infection of the digestive tract. It can often cause sudden and sometimes violent upsets and may be confused with spastic colitis. Other possibilities are diabetes, cyclic vomiting syndrome, liver pathologies,ETEC infection and mesenteric adenitis. In my opinion, consulting a physician will be the best because without examination,I cannot confirm a diagnosis. Hope it helps.

Avatar n tn Starting on 3AM last Friday, I started having symptoms of what I thought was the flu going around. Diarrhea, vomiting, fever (101.5), muscle aches (mild to severe), sweats and chills, stiffness, weakness, some dizziness, no appetite. I automatically assumed it was the influenza virus but in almost everywhere I read, it says a cough and/or sore throat almost always follow. I've had neither, nor have I had any chest pain.
Avatar n tn Hi It could be a case of food poisoning or just a case of bacterial or viral gastroenteritis. Please drink plenty of fluids and take a light diet. Replenish the salts in your diet. Consult your doctor. You may need to take some tests like stool and urine examination. Please watch your urine color. A urine examination will detect any loss of blood however microscopic. In case there is blood loss, it will need to be looked into. Generalized infection can at times cause blood in urine.
Avatar f tn I had nausea, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, and could not hold anything down that I ate or drank. That all lasted about 2 days. However, the nausea has not went away. I am constantly suffering from nausea, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I can drink anything I want just fine and hold it down. I cannot however hold down food. After I eat within 30 minutes I am running to the bathroom and throwing up.
Avatar n tn There has been a recurring stomach bug going around , has she diarreha or fever or is it just vomiting ?Could be Gastroenteritis or Lactose intolerance ..I suspect the former. it may be a good idea to have her checked by the doctor again and speak to him of your concerns .
Avatar m tn She does not have a fever. Also, my 18 month old daughter has had diarhea and vomiting too for a week. But she is better now. Doctor says my wife and daughter have Gastroenteritis. Doctor did not diagnose me as I did not go with them to be diagnosed. I went, instead, to take an Std test and an RNA test on April 28, 2015. Questions: 1) was my behavior high risk? 2) do my symptoms suggest ARS or indicative of ARS? 3) does ARS have low grade fever for 2 weeks?

Next day i had a cold sore that healed in 1 week. > week 5.5 until week 6.5 I had a macular rash on my back diffuse. no other symptoms. The rash is fading down and now at week 7.
Avatar f tn 2 wks after return, I developed vomiting, persistent low-grade fever, and right-flank pain. The vomiting resolved after 24 hours; the other symptoms did not. Thus began weeks of tests through my PCP (urinalysis, a multitude of blood work, xrays, abdominal CT, pelvic & abdominal U/S) with all results normal. Discovered someone on the trip to Cabo was positive for Salmonella, so despite lack of GI symptoms, my doctor ordered stool culture & a blood test for Salmonella antibodies.
