My 2 year old has blood in his stool, dark not bright red, and when I took him to the ER, they said acute gastroenteritis. Basically, acid reflux or stomach ulcers. They didnt do any radiology tests on him, just blood work and a stool sample. We have to wait at least 48 hours to get the stool sample results to find out if it could be a bacterial infection.
Your persisting symptoms of pain, nausea and vomiting could indicate a viral gastroenteritis. The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. In the meantime take oral fluids and OTC acetaminophen for the pain. Regards.
50 days later, on December 24, I had hives and angioedema (lips and eyes). I went to see my dermatologist. She diagnosed me with urticaria. She gave me betamethasone and loratadine. The same day, both the hives and the angioedema went away and did not come back. A few days later, on December 29, I had a high fever (102°F / 39°C) and diarrhea. I went to the emergency room, they made an ecography on my belly and a complete blood count.

There are many causes of nausea. These include stomach disorders such as gastroenteritis and gastritis, liver/gall bladder disease, cancer, medications, inner ear diseases like labrynthitis, ulcers/gastritis, metabolic like diabetes, hypothyroidism and adrenal diseases or neurological causes.
I will sincerely advise you to consult a physician and get these possibilities ruled out one by one.

I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV.
She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?

For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer. You can still pass the virus through your stool for 2 weeks or so and it can survive on surfaces for a long time too. Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot.

For the past 2 weeks I have had numerous problems starting with my stomach. First I was feeling nauseas, gassy and tender stomach. Went to my Dr and she said it was Gastritis and put me on Kapidex 2x a day for 3 days and then once a day thereafter. The next day my lower back has starting hurting. I went in on Tuesday for pain in the back and she prescribed naxoprene and a muscle relaxer. The pain went away once from the pain medicine and now does nothing.
Every day since I went to the hospital to get checked out I was found out with gastroenteritis and 1 week later taking pills it went away. Now ever since then I've been going to the bathroom and what I've. Noticed is that my poop is yellow and floats. I think I may have malabsorption but I'm not to sure. I'd go to the doctor but my parents wouldn't wanna take me as I had gone to the doctor 4 weeks ago. I'm 14 and I'm overweight for my age. I'm 210 Pounds.

Causes of vomitings can be many.However the common ones are gastritis or peptic ulcers,gastroenteritis(irritation and infection of the digestive tract.),gall bladder disease,liver pathologies,migraine,GI diseases and neurological diseases.
Are there any other symptoms like fever,abdominal pain,headache,dizziness etc?If you could elaborate more on the symptoms that your little sister is having then it can help me more in making a diagnosis.
If UPT comes negative,then look out for gastrointestinal conditions like peptic ulcers, gastroenteritis, Herniation and bowel obstruction etc.Various genitourinary, respiratory and vascular conditions are also incidental to pregnancy.

I went to the doc after 5 days. He said its just viral gastroenteritis. I looked up the condition and it says you have vomiting and/or diarrhea, but i have neither. I am worried it is appendicitis, but the appendix is on the right side, not left. I am really in pain but i am taking my meds as described. Does this sound like viral gastroenteritis to you?

when i went to the emergency room they first gave me an x-ray and said my pancreas was swolen then they gave me a contrast ct-scan in wich the said my boweld were swolen they diagnosed me with collitis. when i went and saw a gastro. specialist he ruled out the collitis and said it was gastroenteritis he told me to continue the levaquin i was prescribed.
