398501 tn?1334702273 She is now 2.5 and LOVES swimming! My family is actually in town so we were able to swim in the hotel pool last night. She is such a little fish! I think it's so important for kids to learn not to be scared of the water. :) I hope you have a good time if you take her out!
Avatar f tn I know pools and the ocean are just fine, but to watch out for water that is to hot and stagnant water like in ponds and Rivera. they harbor much more bacteria!
Avatar f tn Im a ftm at 12+5 and was wondering if anyone has been told not to use indoor swimming pools or to not go swimming period? Theres a gym in my town with an indoor pool that i want to start swimming at for exercise and maybe take a light water aerobics class. Anyone think this would be a bad idea?

8537342 tn?1403341983 So I'm very bored at home alone all day while hubby works, our apartment complex has a gym/BBQ/pool area and I'm not sure to what temperature it's set but we have a heated pool, I want to spend some time in the pool just to waste a bit of my day an get my exercise in ready for labour, I'm 34w and though I should have an appt this week it's not until next Thursday.. Can I swim in the next few days or do I have to get the okay first?
290867 tn?1333569278 Oh man doesn't it just, Sab?? Swim and bathe away, Linz! Swimming is great because it's low-impact and healthy, and as long as you're not douching with chlorinated water you'll be fine, LOL. I would say stay away from indoor pools just because they usually have a higher chemical content and I would avoid those ANYway, but obviously you want to be as chemical-free as possible to aid conception...
Avatar m tn Algae are a common pest in swimming pools and hot tubs, can also rarely cause skin infections. So this brought me to a few questions. Did any of you guys frequent swimming pools/saunas/whirlpools before PATM? Did anyone here took any Chlorella, Spirulina or any other Seaweed/Algae supplements before PATM? Does anyone here have any skin rashes, eczemas etc.? I know many have sticky skin which is really hard to wash off, could that be caused by an algae?
Avatar f tn I live in Florida and it started to get hot and i wanted to go swimming but my MIL told me not to cause my baby would have a water head lol I guess she's worried cause im so far along. Its only 9 days left so I'll guess I'll survive with AC and ice cubes.
Avatar f tn My guess is chlorine. You say when you go swimming in pools you get itchy red spots on your chest, back and stomach. That could possibly be the chlorine which is in all swimming pools. You say your eyes get itchy and burn. That is the chlorine in the swimming pool most likely. How do I know this ? I used to take swimming lessons and the chlorine made my eyes itchy and they felt like they were burning.
Avatar m tn My mother is a doctor, and she has never let us swim in swimming pools, because she says that many diseases can be contracted from swimming in public/communal/private swimming pools. Among these diseases in her opinion is HIV/AIDS. I researched about the topic on the Internet and now I know that it isn't a risk.
Avatar f tn I also have problems with chlorine in swimming pools...and I don't dare go near bleach. "Salt-water chlorine" pools have less chlorine in them than regular chlorine pools. If you go to a fitness center (or wherever) you can ask what type of pool they have and they'll tell you.
Avatar f tn Its definitely safe to go swimming especially when your hot doctors recommend taking showers but swimming is way better but in a river ? Definitely not rivers is full of bacteria and something may scratch your belly and you can be in pain, fresh clean water is the way to go!
Avatar f tn My doc just said when i go swimming use sun block... thats crazy never heard of that.. i have friends that went swimming in lakes and rivers pregnant. Where i usually go its a spring fed river.. so its clear you can see down to the bottom. Chloeeddy i think i would rather want cooler weather when prego... but summers are good too.. because of swimming love it!!
Avatar f tn I have been getting a red bumpy rash on the back of my legs after swimming in oceans, lakes, pools and hot tubs. The rash is in places that come in contact with my swimsuit. The rash on my penis is flaky and dry on the tip.
Avatar f tn Swimming is a really good and recommended form of exercise while pregnant. So don't worry, your fine to swim in pools.

8927222 tn?1415432715 You can swim your fine... The baby is breathing amniotic fluid not air. Swimming is actually recommended.
Avatar m tn The first time I used a tampon it was because I was 12 and I really wanted to go swimming. Maybe try it with her, not sure how a pad would work...it definitely would be hard to hide too.
Avatar f tn the things you should avoid are saunas and spas where the temp is consistently hot. I am 29 weels and take my 20 month old swimming once a week in a warm pool. just make sure you dont overheat and keep your fluids up.
