Avatar m tn Hello, doctors. I'm a young, sexually active gay male. From time to time I meet a man from the Internet and engage in safer sex practices like fellatio (mostly with me performing it) and mutual masturbation. I never engage in anal sex with these men, and I always, always ask about HIV status. My last test was two months ago and the result was negative. So, normally, I'm not very worried about HIV. However, I have a concern that I hope you can address.
Avatar n tn Starting on 3AM last Friday, I started having symptoms of what I thought was the flu going around. Diarrhea, vomiting, fever (101.5), muscle aches (mild to severe), sweats and chills, stiffness, weakness, some dizziness, no appetite. I automatically assumed it was the influenza virus but in almost everywhere I read, it says a cough and/or sore throat almost always follow. I've had neither, nor have I had any chest pain.
Avatar f tn (The hollow right under your ribs, in your upper stomach) Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, fever, malaise and general aches and pains. For most people symptoms subside within 1-3 days but you're contagious much longer. You can still pass the virus through your stool for 2 weeks or so and it can survive on surfaces for a long time too. Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot.
Avatar n tn The prime one which needs to be ruled out is gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis is an irritation and infection of the digestive tract. It can often cause sudden and sometimes violent upsets and may be confused with spastic colitis. Other possibilities are diabetes, cyclic vomiting syndrome, liver pathologies,ETEC infection and mesenteric adenitis. In my opinion, consulting a physician will be the best because without examination,I cannot confirm a diagnosis. Hope it helps.
501895 tn?1210201743 I'm afraid to take drugs. I quit Cymbalta because of the waring on the lable. Zoloft is supposed to be o.k.? I have muscle aches and it's probably pyscosymatic. Should I just take milk thistle? Or liv-54? iI take codiene because the pain is unbearable. Today, though, I took four 500mg vicodin, and got no relief. I don't have that much of a resistance, and am careful not to get addicted. Thank you in advance, i really am desperarate.
Avatar m tn s (Not Just a couple) I get muscle cramps that jump around from day to day, and my neck is stiff and achey most of the time, I get cramps in the calves of my legs, aches in my hips and legs at night in bed. Without sleep medication I would only sleep 2 hours and cant manage to go back to sleep.
Avatar f tn With the leg problem that you feel like stretching them, it sounds like it could be "restless leg syndrome". This is usually treated with an antidepressant called amitriptyline. With your arms aching too, you may have some form of arthritis. Unfortunately as we get older, us unfortunate ones, start to feel aches and pains. Ask your doctor about the restless leg syndrome. Pain relief and anti-inflammatories may help.

Avatar f tn only takes my TSH levels, she said that is all she goes by so my TSH is normal at 1.44 and has went higher and lower but basically stays in that range. I have no idea why she is so reluctant on having me try T3. I will try to get in before Christmas again and have another talk with her. She doesn't think my symptoms have anything to do with my meds or thyroid removal. But I think it has everthing to do with it! Its very frustrating!!
Avatar f tn My primary physician said I probably overdid the stretches and triggered a muscle rebound (contracting) problem. An MRI of my back was taken, showing osteoarthritis (which I've known about for years). In fact I've suffered from sciatica before but that was years ago and I've been mostly pain-free since then. Was sent for physical theraphy, which seemed to resolve the issue after 4-6 weeks of treatment.

Avatar n tn I feel a pain that almost comes from the pectoral muscle, and reaches around to the lower portion of my left armpit. Accompanying this, I often have a dull pain in my back, which varies in coming from the area around my heart to the base of my spine. I have a lot of stress in my life and do suffer from high blood pressure and stomach problems. I am wondering if part of these pains might be due to gastroenteritis or acid reflux.
Avatar f tn Everyone Keep Telling Me The Stomach Flu May Have Lingered Longer In Me And The Muscle Aches And Nights Sweats Might Be Due To Constant Anxiety And Stress. Do You Think It's Possible He Could've Done Anything To The Testing Material To Infect It? I Know It Sounds Crazy But I'm Just Scared Because All Of These Symptoms. Or Am I Just Over Exaggerating??

I woke back up at like four o clock in the morning with stomach cramps and muscle crams so bad I had to take a pain pill to help me get confortable .I am currently still in pain it is now almost 7am. Please tell me what this could possible be.
Avatar m tn As for you specific symptoms, muscle aches and pains can point to not enough magnesium. And anxiety is a high suspect for low magnesium. Magnesium is called the relaxation/anti anxiety mineral. Low magnesium also affects the bladder. A double blind trial found that women with bladder control problems who took magnesium supplements had better bladder control and felt less of a sense of urgency about using the bathroom than women who took a placebo (sugar pill).
