gastroenteritis

for the past 3 weeks i have had severe stomach pains which progress to nausea and vomiting. my dad is a doctor and suggested zantac. i used that with brioschi for a couple days and it was not very helpful. he then said to use prilosec. i am on my 8th day and it helped for a few days but has stopped working. the severe stomach pain continues to evolve into vomiting. i am not eating foods that should trigger problems. my dad suspects an ulcer from h pylori, but the treatment has not helped.
I had the same thing with the Yaz. I was on Yasmin and switched to Yaz and promptly gained about 5 or more pounds. No problems at all with Yasmin, and I was on it for 5 or more years. I still work out like I did on Yasmin, and I've never eaten a lot, although, the Yaz does make me hungry all the time, and I can't seem to get rid of this bloating. I spot constantly and cramp. I have another friend that is the same way.
I should clarify before I give you advise. I do not suffer from Emetophobia but I suffer from really bad anxiety that causes me to have a very nacious feeling in my stomach constantly when suffering. I take medication too, to help lesson my symptoms. I absolutely hate throwing up more then anything but unfortunately I have had to do it way more then I would ever imagine. I am 26 year old female and incredibly underweight. I am 5"8 and 103 pounds.
The foul, sulfuric rotten egg/bad red wine burps and flatulence (and diarrhea) are mortifying. I have studied the entire human body (in my profession), and have close friendships with several internists. However, I have no health insurance. Based on what I've studied and have been told, the most likely culprits are gastroparesis (very slow emptying of the stomach) OR gall bladder disease.
Hello, Chronic nausea can be due to stomach disorders such as gastroenteritis, liver/gall bladder disease, cancer, medications, inner ear diseases like labrynthitis, ulcers/gastritis, metabolic like diabetes, hypothyroidism and adrenal diseases or neurological causes. Take an OTC lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals. Drink plenty of fluids and eat small nutritious meals at frequent intervals instead of a heavy single meal.
I use Ginger Root for my nasuea, which I have constantly from gastroenteritis and bleeding ulcers. I have been given Zofran and other prescription nasuea meds, but found Ginger Root to work better for me. You do need to find something! The protein powder that toothfaire mentioned is great. I use Muscle Milk ( which is actually lactose free) It has loads of protein and vitamin and minerals. It helps immensely.
still very weak and drinking ensure, water and ginger ale (not at the same time and going to bed earlier. any things I can do to stop that?
He has had one epidose of Gastroenteritis about two years ago. He was treated with pills and hasn't had another episode since. He is on Senior "Nature's recipe" dogfood for digestive health but is still spitting up.
I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
They prescribed me with an antibiotic (for gastroenteritis) and metoclopramide, as well as something for diarrhea (which I didn't have). I filled out the prescription for the metoclopramide, but I was kind of wary about the antibiotic, because they didn't tell me if they even found anything viral or bacterial, they just said that it "seems like gastroenteritis". A couple days later, I ended up going back to the hospital, because the metoclopramide wasn't doing anything at all.
GP say its a viral gastroenteritis and he done me an appointment with a Gastric Specialist for more investigation. Thats in fours weeks I cant stay will this another day..... I said to the GP, he said well this is not a matter of life and death so I have to wait. Ontop of it all I also have a cold, slight throat and period pains. My body has had it because with my lose of apatite its getting weaker and weaker. What my GP is not understanding, that I am to weak to do anything.
If you are having vomiting and diarrhea, it is most likely a stomach bug, or gastroenteritis. The biggest worry is dehydration. Try to stay hydrated, drink lots of fluid and get lots of rest. If you are unable to keep anything down, they may have you be seen for I'VE fluids. I'm in WI too so I hear you on the snow storm! Avoid heavy foods, stick to clear liquids like broth and bland foods like toast or rice. And plenty of water!!!
One website I read said that compazine is better for opiod related nausea and phenergan is better for gastroenteritis and inflammation related nausea and vertigo. That description sounded more like what TX causes, maybe. The pherergan is also an antihistamine. A pharmacist told me they are very similar yet a website I was reading said they are very different. If anyone has an opinion, I'd like to hear it.
I am also pre-diabetic. I've checked out webmd many times and all it comes up with is gastroenteritis However, I will question the doctors on this site. Again thanks so much !

I will sincerely advise you to consult a physician and get these possibilities ruled out one by one. Detailed and comprehensive lab and radiological testing is required to confirm a diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
) and the whole time I was in intense moaning pain - Yes, my husband was going to call 911 - we did a heating pad on my stomach that did not really help but eventually I fell asleep and woke up pain free. I had 1/2 glass ginger ale and 4 saltines and feel like a ticking time bomb. I don't have insurance and don't want to go for a million tests. My bowel movements are normal this is strictly the center top of the stomach were the pain is and it feels like it is being wrung out or squeezed.
While there, they tested my urine and did the usual check up routine. They put me on an IV and game liquids and anti-nausea medication. They diagnosed me with gastroenteritis. They told me to wait it out and that my body had to fight it on its own. They suggested a bland diet, and that I continue hydrating, and (now with the medicine I would not have to throw up every time I had a drink of water.) The nausea got a lot better, but the diarrhea has not stopped and is very painful.
Lately for breakfast I have been having cream of buckwheat with coconut milk and cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg and vanilla. I have water to drink and decaf coffee with a little coconut milk. Yesterday for lunch I had chicken chow mein (I did have some rice with it) when we dined out, water and decaf coffee. I had 2 buckwheat cinnamon buns for a snack. For dinner I made beef stew (thickened with tapioca flour) and a tossed salad. I had water and then decaf coffee.
I immediately took him to the vet and although she was packed, she allowed me to drop him off and would keep me informed by phone of his progress and consultation results. I got a call about 11 that morning (yesterday morning) and she said after given intravenous fluids, he was having some pretty bad vomiting and very slight diarrhea. On the exam findings, she noted he had extreme tenderness of the abdominal area and his ab area was as tight as a drum.
I've been off of my effexor xr for about 5 days now and after talking to my pharmacist and doing some of my own research, ginger seems to help greatly with dizziness and nausea. Here is a link for the effects of ginger and how to take it. I've been chewing a 1/4" piece of peeled, fresh ginger every 4 hours and it is working miracles. Here is the link <a href=http://www.umm.edu/altmed/ConsHerbs/Gingerch.
you name it, I had it. However I have found that ginger capsules have helped alot with the nausea and dizziness. I have tried to keep at least a month in between each reduction and just hope and pray that by the time I am done that I won't need anything else, but if I do then I plan on trying the naturapathic way before I go back on any more pharmacuetical options.
I probably will not even be able to celebrate Easter tomorrow. I have tried ginger tea and peppermint oil and so forth, but sorry to say none of that stuff works for me. I wish everyone good luck and you are in my prayers. I will check in as I am able.
I've tried drinking soda, swallowing air, etc, and it just makes me feel uncomfortable but doesn't make me burp. Instead, my throat gurgles. The best way to describe the sound is like a stomach growling, only in the throat. It's incredibly embarrassing and I can't prevent it from happening. It tends to happen a lot after I drink juice or soda, but also sometimes after meals where I only drank water.
