gastroenteritis

Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar f tn If your digesting time decreased, you might have not enough time to absorb/digest your fats.
4244028 tn?1352493610 how sure you are that the bowel movement of your daughter is normal? you should try to consult other doctor, Im talking about the Physician who has broad experience on digestive system cases, the doctor who is specialist for that. my help to you is monitor her daily activities, diet. search for chron's disease, gastroenteritis, colon cancer, manifestations and signs/symptoms.etc. I think it will help. give her also a rich in fiber diet whenever she is constipated.
Avatar n tn My dog is a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier who spits up after eating. He has had one epidose of Gastroenteritis about two years ago. He was treated with pills and hasn't had another episode since. He is on Senior "Nature's recipe" dogfood for digestive health but is still spitting up.
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.

Avatar m tn com/GITextbook/en/Default.htm. I would take special note of the biliary system, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction and pancreatitis. If I were in your shoes, I'd ask for a referral to another Gastroenterologist. A second opinion can't hurt and might make all the difference in the world.
Avatar n tn If all the blood work looked good it means that the liver and kidney functions should be normal since the liver and kidney functions are usually checked when routine blood work is performed. Have X-Rays been performed? These are usually done prior to having an ultrasound done. An ultrasound is not invasive and could give you some good information, however, it can be costly. Have you tried giving her pepcid or zantac when she first gets up?

Avatar n tn The prime one which needs to be ruled out is gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis is an irritation and infection of the digestive tract. It can often cause sudden and sometimes violent upsets and may be confused with spastic colitis. Other possibilities are diabetes, cyclic vomiting syndrome, liver pathologies,ETEC infection and mesenteric adenitis. In my opinion, consulting a physician will be the best because without examination,I cannot confirm a diagnosis. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn The only other symptom he has if that he is hurting on his right lower side. He has had no fever. The doctor checked his blood and urine this morning and said it all looks fine. Of course they won't keep him at school when he is vomiting. What could possibly be wrong that needs to be checked that the Dr. is missing? This is beginning to concern me and he is really missing a lot of school.
Avatar f tn I went to several doctors who said the digestive system is linked to the lips (because they are mucous membranes) and no one really further explained how to fix the issue, just that those 2 systems were connected.
Avatar m tn While I was reading it for weight loss, everything is related to your digestive system and bowel function and the need to detox for it to work correctly. I can't do the full detox on my own so I have been modify it to try to get some of the benefits. I make a fresh veggie soup (preferrably organic) every night and let it cook in the crock pot. During the next 21 days, I'll blend the soup and eat as much as I want throughout the day.
Avatar n tn Yes. I have had awful ibs since I was a kid. Since I've been pregnant my symptoms have lessened dramatically. It's like the one relief I've gotten during pregnancy.
1472764 tn?1287588186 I had a a miscarriage a week ago and since then my digestive system has gone crazy. I had no problems but a little afternoon and early evening sickness when I was pregnant. But now after the miscarriage I feel bloated and sometimes a little crampy and naseaus and my stool is soft. Sometimes I feel like if I eat I'll get sick and if I don't eat I'll get sick. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I stop it? I've been taking tums and gaviscon.
Avatar n tn You may not be digesting your food thereby causing acid or gas to come up the throat. See an Internist and ask about taking Malic Acid prior to your meals and digestive enzymes just after and see if this changes your symptoms. Good Luck!
Avatar m tn It was a stabbing pain a bit below the middle of my back, going all the way through to my stomach, and fading out, feeling kind of like hunger in the end. These problems have since gotten worse, and the pain increases after breakfast, mainly, when I stand up after I finish eating. On top of that, I am having trouble going to the bathroom. No urinary problems... but when I try to pass solid waste, I can't, or only small amount of it come out at a time, and more gas than anything comes out.
Avatar m tn For as many years as I can remember I had digestive system issues. Done two colonoscopies, nothing found. Basically I have a lot of bloat, gases and constant diarrhea with what seems to be boiling water inside me most of the time after eating. I cant relate to nothing in particular. Sometimes I'm fine, others just drinking water makes the symptoms come back.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if this might be caused by a small intestinal bacterial infection that I picked up while there or if my body is simply re-adjusting to consuming dairy again. I am 27 years old and until now have had a rock-solid digestive system. Thank you in advance for your response.
1751416 tn?1311996126 It all started in 2005 when I was in high school I was sick alot, missing school too many times. So I went into the doctor and he said I had gastroenteritis and possibly ulcers. He prescribed me Prilosec I think. I took it for 2wks as he told me to and it went away. Well this year it came back with a vengeance. I've been having these "episodes" damn near every week now at least once.
Avatar n tn From what I have heard from those with Crohn's, there is no one diet for everyone. Some find they can not handle roughage. Others seem to find that diary doesn't work very well. It may be a trial-and-error thing you have to work with to see what your system can handle. You might want to try a board that deals strictly with those who have Crohn's and can give you a number of first-hand experiences.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
