ammonia

Avatar n tn Along with the H pylori I have this weird body odor which smells slightly of ammonia and somewhat meaty? I have this weird taste in my mouth as well. I was taking a prevpac for 14 days and I thought that would take care of the weird body odor as well as kill off the pylori bugs. My stomach feels better but I still smell weird? I also have bright red blood in my stool with each stool. At this point I have no idea what's going on. My pancrease, liver, spleen, and kidneys are normal.
Avatar f tn Anyone experiencing bad gas? It's to the point I curl up in a ball and want to cry.. I'm 12 weeks anyone know what I can do to help the stomach pain?
Avatar f tn The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air. OSHA has limits of something like 25 ppm for people working in industry, apparently over that amount of ammonia in the air is bad for the lungs. As they were talking, the meter went over 25, then over 40, then over 60, then I think it stopped in the 70s or 80s.
Avatar m tn You should try taking some gas-x to get the gas to move. Gas in the intestines comes from what you eat so avoid gas producing foods like carbonation. However, all of this could mean something different if you are having symptoms. Do you have any symptoms and what was the reason an ultrasound was done?
1134500 tn?1260875857 i know i was exposed to ammonia gas for roughly 6 years.allso sodium nitrate, hydrogen, and hydroxic sludge,so 1 ov these started my headaches.ive since left the company but have every sample, pitchure of the machine.legal action is now being taken against the company.its such a nightmare, the impact these headaches have in your life...
Avatar n tn Urine is high in nitrates, compounds high in nitrogen and oxygen. Ammonia is made up of nitrogen and hydrogen. (NH3) What you are smelling is the high concentration of bonded nitrogen. Normally, diluted urine doesn't have much odor. If you're dehydrated and your urine becomes highly concentrated, it can have a strong ammonia smell.
Avatar f tn It is also possible that, if the concentration of ammonia is high enough, chlorine gas will form. If it starts to give off a strong odour and your eyes are burning, flush it and open a window or turn on the ventilation fan immediately, then get out of the room. Chlorine gas is highly toxic.
Avatar f tn I have heard of this and it isn't safe at all nor remotely accurate. Urine has ammonia in it and when ammonia and bleach mix it releases a very toxic gas, and almost always when urine hits bleach it will fiz or foam that's what creates the gas. I had a friend who tried this once in high school, (just for fun, she wasn't pregnant nor did she want to be) and she ended up in the hospital from the gas it created. Sorry didn't mean to scare you just stating the facts.
Avatar n tn Have you tried MiraLax for the IBS? I use it every day. It can help with gas pain also. From the MiraLax website: "MiraLAX actually reduces cramps and gas that can be caused by constipation." I don't work for the company - honest. I'm just glad there is something that actually works.
Avatar m tn It can decompose urea to produce ammonia, and can also produce indole and hydrogen sulfide in the intestine. First of all, proteus can decompose urea to produce ammonia. We have all heard the smell of ammonia. The smell of urine in the toilet is the smell of ammonia. Therefore, the urine odor of PATM patients is produced by Proteus. In addition, proteus produces indole and hydrogen sulfide in our intestines. Indole is another name for faecal odor.
Avatar n tn Urine has ammonia in it. Ammonia mixed with bleach makes a VERY toxic gas.
Avatar f tn When the liver is struggling it can’t convert protein properly and it ends up as ammonia that passes out into the blood stream and makes our body toxic. Ammonia is an irritant that causes dry throats, coughing, sneezing etc. This theory ties up with people who have stopped eating protein and moved to a plant based diet, giving up alcohol which damages the liver, and more recently someone saying tamarind had helped them. Just a thought that this could be worth further investigation.
Avatar n tn There is more than one variety, and a specialist is needed to determine the specific type. Generally ammonia will destroy this kind of mold. I know people recommend other liquids, but ammonia is the way to go. Before using the ammonia the room should be "dewatered" with use of one of more dehumidifiers. These molds like moist places.
Avatar f tn This is my 2nd pregnancy and i love cleaning because i think it smells so good also with gas and stuff but im always in well open areas and never just huffing the chemicals lol
Avatar f tn I believe that we emit ammonia from our bodies due to to the imbalance in our stomach and digestive track. Are bodies cannot get rid of the excess ammonia properly so it comes out through our pores causing people to sneeze and itch. I'm not a doctor, but I've had this long enough to know this is part of our problem.
Avatar f tn Sometimes this gas is produced in such huge quantities that the sulfide oxidase enzyme in the wall of the gut is not able to oxidize all of it and convert it to thiosulfate. Hence the gas enters the blood stream and gets filtered by kidney into the urine. This gas has a smell of rotten eggs. You can test its presence by test strips available OTC. If this is positive and you have smell of rotten eggs in urine then you need to cut down food items that contain sulfites.
291885 tn?1404893207 From everything I've read the problem with CO is that it replaces oxygen in your body so your body becomes starved from oxygen. Since all those cells in your body depend on oxygen for life it's no wonder the effects are long lasting. I've been fortunate to have two great doctors help me through with all my difficult health troubles.
1541359 tn?1293839266 I bet that if you took a oxygen reading while this was happening, your oxygen would be normal. What is probably happening (and what has happened to me) is that it is causing a feeling of shortness of breath because of the pressure, but nothing bad is actually happening.
Avatar f tn They mention CO2, nitrogen and methane as well, which can displace oxygen and are known to be non-odorous. Maybe we are producing a lot of it in our GI tract?? https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/pharmacology-toxicology-and-pharmaceutical-science/asphyxiant-gas See below: This was another article specifically talking about acetylene, it was interesting to know that it can dilute oxygen causing symptoms of air hunger etc. Whatever we are producing has likely similar qualities to acetylene.
Avatar n tn If you are on continuous oxygen and the values are correct, you are in chronic respiratory failure and should be seen by your lung specialist as soon as possible, to be sure that your respiratory failure is chronic, the result of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or another chronic lung disease, and is not worsening.
