Gas symptoms in adults

Common Questions and Answers about Gas symptoms in adults

gas

Over the past few years, I've also seen a correlation between gas in the bowel and from the vagina. I'm going in for a colonoscopy in 2 months, but it seems like ages, as this is very embarrassing in the corporate environment. It happens that when I'm sitting down, the gas collects in the uterus, and then when I stand up, the gas is expeled from the vagina. It is very disheartening that my gyn stated that if it's not due to a fistula, there may not really be a solution to the problem.
Referring to your post regarding A/Fib and bloated stomach/gas, I too have had the same experience. I believe it is a mechanical effect in that the gas inflates the intestine which in turn pushes on the vagus nerve or the bottom of the heart and triggers the A/F episode. The sensation is located under the left rib cage not in the chest. I can also induce A/F by swallowing something very cold on an empty stomach. This freaks out the nerve and the A/F proceeds.
last night,. i had 3-4 simultaneous stabbing pains that lasted 2-3 seconds in the sternum/heart area, VERY scary very uncomfortable. i do not know if this was GAS or if it was ACID REFLUX the docs always say either its ACID REFLUX or its "anxiety or stress" related. And yes when im full of gas, i am bloated , have a weird sensation in the body, a lil dizzy,. but once i release it, its like such a relief ! bloating goes away, i feel so good, but its hard to release it.
We did not deserve those things in any way. But we do carry the scares from it. When adults we trust cross that line, we then have trust issues. I am very sweet , I have a heart of mercy and it pains me to hurt some one. I always think about how the other person would feel above myself. I am also a Christian and have great Faith in the Lord. He comforts me, guides me and has carried me through these dark murky times. I see you are struggling with feeling of suicide.
just didn't fit with type II and did fit with LADA - Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults. It means I may need insulin asap to keep from destroying all my B cells. Of course that means another uphill fight. As far as the neurologist - he said he'd never seen RE in anyone - much less an adult - so in his gut he didn't think I had it. It was too rare! I wondered if he'd looked at my chart - I'm the essence of RARE cases.
As your swelling of your left side joints had a self limitting course we do not suspect your abdominal symptoms to relate with the JRA history you have. (In adults it is always good to assess the case by the clinical symptoms of Rheumatoid arthritis and RA factor.) So you have to counsult a Gastroenterologist for the gall stones severity & for the indigestion and gas. Also check for food poisoning if this is a recent problem.
If nothing is found, check with your neighbours to see if anyone who lives nearby has the same or similar symptoms... it could be something in your environment, such as overhead electrical wires, cables, or something in the earth that is affecting your air or drinking water. Moulds are also a possibility, as is old paint that contains lead. Is there a refinery or factory nearby that is emitting toxic material into the air?
I am depressed, tired, and dealing with the pressure 24/7 is exhausting and I am beginning to think that the doctors believe I am faking it or that it is all in my head. Have any of you gotten any answers to your symptoms. I am now grasping at straws I want to be able to take something to my doctor and let him know that I am not the only one who has these symptoms. I can't take motrin or aleve and the doctor's answer is to give me prescription pain medicine.
The pain is crampy and gets worse with eating and better after passing stool or gas. In addition to the symptoms described above, children with IBS may also have headache, nausea, or mucus in the stool. Weight loss may occur if a child eats less to try to avoid pain. Some children first develop symptoms after a stressful event, such as teething, a bout with the flu, school problems, or problems at home. Stress does not cause IBS, but it can trigger symptoms.
A few months ago, through some variation of gross keywords, I found a blog in which people were talking about the same symptoms, desperately searching for answers from one another!! (http://www.************.com/strange_spongy_white_object_in_stool_t127457.html) I was so relieved that I started to cry at my computer. At that point, I was pretty convinced it was something really terrible. Something incurable, that I would probably have to deal with until whatever-it-was killed me.
The HCV seroprevalence of Egyptian adults being the highest in the world (est 11-20% poss due to an Schistosomiasis immunisation programme () where the Egyptian clinics re-used syringes) does raise a few concerns, though as you have tested (presumably by antibody tests) at 6m the chances of being infected are very very low. Most tests are positive after 3 months.
Babies are hard to tell and their symptoms can be alarming because their airways are so much smaller then adults. It does sound like he has allergies as he is constantly congested, which can make anyone miserable. Is he colicky as well, and has a lot of gas, then maybe he has a food allergy. But perhaps you should bring him to an allergist. It's place to start, and at least the root cause can be found for his symptoms. He doesn't have problems with chest infections?
So, I did some searching and I think it's Precordial Catch Syndrome. It's not supposedly common in adults, but the symptoms fit. Here's a couple of good articles: http://www.failedsuccess.com/index.php?/weblog/comments/precordial_catch_syndrome_chest_pain/ http://www.ehow.com/how_4552025_relieve-pain-precordial-catch-syndrome.
When I blow my nose, it smells really bad, and I can taste it every once in a while in the back of my throat. Any ideas of what the cause may be and what I can do? I think when the cold passes, the smell will be gone, but I never had this before with a cold. Thanks.
All bloodwork was normal. Took a job in Iraq where I am currently. Arrived in Feb. In Jun, I was sick with extreme fatigue, headaches, and dizziness. Saw a doctor in Jul and was given OTC headache meds. They did bloodwork that came back normal. Since that time I have had daily head pressure and tinnitus. The tinnitus comes and goes and can be really loud and annoying. Visited another doctor in Sep who thought it might be an allergic reaction and was given zyrtec for a month.

They, like the first source I cited, are written in the context of occurrence in infants in children. (I am still looking for data about this issue in adults.) http://books.google.com/books?
light-colored bubbles could represent gas pockets in the fluid that is filling the abdomen cavity (in medics, I don't know if that's common, or normal). in a color palette negative to the above one, well, dark means light and vice-versa. As you can see, only the doctor will be able to tell the patient for sure. I think typically the technician can also tell but is not allowed to (e.g. he must not be held responsible of false diagnostics or indications).

I have 4 children and have had all the symptoms you all have had with your children in the past. Finally I went to a DR. and he nailed it! After the summer months and all the time of children drinking juices. The intestines need to be cleaned as the bacteria growth from all the juices invade...! He told me to have them start on a culturelle (pill) or activia a day for the little ones! Within a week I had happy-no-hurting-stomaches!!
Fatigue, my legs have knots, I have headaches days on end. If you touch my hair it hurts. These symptoms can not all be in my head(so to speak). I have joint and body pain all the time. I work on a computer all day 8 hrs or more, I think my headaches and fatigue may be related to my work. I take additional supplements daily and have for about 1 year. Has anyone else had the same symptoms along with the indentions and have they increased in size?
I am a 36(nearly 37 ) year old woman. I was born in the capital city of Alberta, Canada. Born with undetected(before birth) Gastroscesis ... Her sudden and persistent change in behavior indicates that she is in pain. She is trying to tell you that the only way she knows how. DO NOT GIVE HER ASPIRIN. Aspirin and most other over the counter analgesics are toxic to cats.

Someone also mentioned other symptoms etc. I have had no colds, my thyroid is perfect, I eat super healthy (vegan), dont use deodorant (no I am not a hippie), I dont feel like i have a sinus infection (feel pretty good actually), have not taken an antibiotic in over 8+ years...
I have seen multiple ENTs and they have all prescribed steroid cream that works great, but then it comes back with a vengeance. I only have these symptoms in my right ear, but they are not only on the ear they are behind it too in the groove where the ear attaches to the head. Anybody else having that? I have found a couple of things that seem to help, but like everyone else, no cure :-(. I have been using the Gold Bond lotion that fairly new.
Have stopped upper body workouts without improvement in symptoms. Going to ditch the underwire bra for a few weeks and see what happens.
so she should be monitored if a chiari dr says she is not a surgical candidate at this time. If she has ne changes in her symptoms she should be seen ASAP. I am sure ur DD does not have a syrinx in the cervical area if noted on the MRI, but a syrinx can form in other areas of the spine and MRI's of the areas should be done to rule that out as well...thoracic and lumbar areas. I would suggest u see a chiari specialist to see exactly what is going on...
