Though this produces aches and pains every where, the pains can also get localized to one area more and can vary in intensity from a burning sensation to severe pain. If the pain is under the shoulder blade then it could be due to a problem with the stomach (like acidity, gastric reflux, hiatal hernia) or due to pancreatitis, ectopic pregnancy maybe ruled out in your case) or in the chest like angina or heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, aortic dissection.
I have very severe pain under my shoulder blade, the upper chest area near or behind the clavicle area.. When I cough really hard it help relieve the pain as if i was shifting mucus. Also I took a laxative assuming it maybe gas. I have also taken flexaril guessing it could be muscle spasm. At one time I thought I was gaining some relief but I had a very hard sneeze and the pain errupted again down the side of my neck to my shoulder, chest and under the shoulder blade.
For those who have pain on the Left side under your shoulder blade or between the shoulder blade and spine - you may also want to check with a gastroenterologist. I have had a similar pain for several years, and during evaluation for another issue, it was discovered that I have a hiatal hernia (a hernia at the sphincter at the top of my stomach). This results in some acid reflux, but also in pain in my back, right by my left shoulder blade.
But I swear, it's the same symptoms I read and talked to others about the gallbladder, just it's on the left, upper back, under shoulder blade, continuing around to the front and closing in on my chest. Can't take deep breaths, lift my arms above my head or reach down.
i have really bad spasm gas pain, air pockets under my right breast. i just had surgury on the 12, tumor attached yo my right ovary.
The pain is on the left side of my back, like underneath the left shoulder blade. To describe the “pain” the best way I would say it’s a null feeling and from on a scale to 1 to10 it’s like a 3 and 4. A year ago I woke up to the most horrible pain I have ever felt which was again on my back. At that time it felt like an air pocket only 2x’s more pain. I got my first spasm that same day on my back. Assuming it was an air pocket I took gas pills but that did not help at all.
that your doctor said gerd should not cause diaphragm or shoulder pain. My shoulder pain is located above my breast below the collar bone feels like a bloat or a tender muscle. I also can feel it directly behind to the back side of my shoulder blade. You mention boating and that is what i feel it is gas trapped up in the upper chest. Would love to hear more posts about this.
The hospital told me it was due to the constipation but a couple weeks ago I'd started moving my bowels everyday again but the pain is still there as well as pain in my upper back and by my left shoulder blade, the bottom of it and under my left armpit, sometimes the pain radiates into the chest and under the right rib but rarely. The pain is sometimes dull, and then changes to a small sharp pain and then to a very sharp sore pain. It's always there so it seems and it worries me.
it is like the pain is above my right side ear lobe, to my neck, upper chest between the top part collar bone to under my arm pit, shoulder, shoulder blade, and between spine and shoulder blade. then to my elbow, to my forearm and my wrist.
At the same time, I experience some numbness in my right arm and pain under my right breast and shoulder blade. I have had a sonogram for my gullbladder and the test came back good. I recently had a colonoscopy and that too, came out good. I sometimes have stomach distension and constipation is a daily thing. I feel that if I could release gas that my tummy would feel better. My menstrual cycles are wacked out. I have seen a chiropractor, thinking that I might have a pinched nerve.
I have had a little gas pain when I get up to use the restroom. I can almosst feel it ease right up under my right shoulder blade. When I get back in bed, it hurts until I lay down flat. After a few minutes the gas seems to subside.
Yesterday, after a buffet lunch, I felt pressure in the middle of my chest, then a sharp, burning pain that went to my left shoulder and behind the shoulder blade. It made it hard to breath the pain was so bad. However, when I would lay down, the sharp pain would go away. Is this my heart or my stomach? I couldn't stand or sit up. I've had this happen to me before in the past. It's very similar to the sharp pain you feel after you've had surgery when you've had anesthesia.
I have a pain that comes and goes, it's a gnawing pain, not sharp under the rib cage on the left side. I thought it may be traped gas but not sure. Feels uncomfortable with pushing the area in with my hand, but not painful. What could it be?
•the centre of your abdomen, below your breastbone and above your bellybutton •the upper right of your abdomen, with the pain travelling towards your shoulder blade The pain is constant, dull and is not relieved when you go to the toilet, pass wind or are sick. The pain can be triggered by eating fatty foods and it may wake you up during the night. Biliary colic usually happens infrequently. After an episode of pain, it may be several weeks or months before you experience another episode.
I've been having pain and fullness under the right side of my rib cage for the past 5 days. Pain also radiates to my back under shoulder blade. It feels like something is really swollen (like my liver) or as if a balloon is inflated underneath my ribs. Stools are normal, no nausea/vomiting. I went to the urgent care clinic today, and they sent me straight down to the ER.
It sucks so bad. Its pain in my left side under my rib cage. It almost feels as if i have gas but gas should NEVER hurt this bad. Ive been having it off and on for a few weeks now and i just dont know what to do about it. I cant even see my dr right now because lack of money. My lower back has been killing me along with my stomach. When i walk alot, its my right side under my rib cage that hurts alot. I dont understand it.
I am living proof it is. The pain I have goes from rt upper back, rt shoulder, rt upper quandrant (under ribs), lft shoulder and back and mid line stomach. So, just keep after the doc! Just by the by, I have read that once the gallbladder is removed and they do a pathology on it, gallstones are usually found. It is just they were too small to be detected by any of the tests. Good Luck!
I have been having digestive problems for years, I am now 61', but over the past six weeks I have has horrible pains under my ribs and under my right shoulder blade, together with lots of gas and a tight feeling under the sternum. My doctor has increased my dose of omeprazole to 40g a day but its not really helping. I had a barium swallow a Lear s ago which showed some motility problems and my virtual colonoscopy was clear. I feel really tired a lot of the time and am getting really worried.
I do have a gallstone and have experienced the lower right side pain and nausea plus the shoulder blade pain but this right upper side pain is new to me. I have been terrified of pulmonary embolism or something but I think it must be either gallbladder related or stress related. The only other thing I can think of is that I started a new fitness regime and overdid it a bit for the first time. I ended up a few days later with a terrible lower backache which lasted about a week.
I have this horrible pain that started in my left shoulder blade. Now it is in my whole shoulder and my elbows are constantly hurting. I keep worrying that I have some sort of bone cancer as I don't have move movement in my left shoulder and my elbows are restricting me from picking things up. I smoke, drink alcohol, which I am sure does not help, but I can't get any relief! Icy Hot every night, but that does nothing.
I felt a little tingle in my shoulder blade area as well. But no other symptoms. And I seem to be starting my period a week early for some odd reason.
Now I have awful shoulder pain in both arms and can't sleep due to pain. post op shoulder post op neck. I DONT THINK I had a torn shoulder this pain is so bad I would have known before neck surgery...... wow what are they doing.....the doctor who did neck surgery should never sent me to a doctor to do surgery on my shoulder because this has to be from the neck surgery....... how could I have suddenly torn both shoulders????
) The numbness and lack of strength varies on the day but about 5 days ago I started having the pain under my left shoulder blade (that most of you have experienced) and it wont go away. I have also noticed that the numbness in different areas has been worse than usual and my neck is really stiff.
Ever since 4 weeks ago when I had my surgery I have been having bad pain under my rib cage again. Also pain in the chest, behind breast bone, pain between shoulder blades, stomach aches and soreness. Not to add the pinching and stabbing pains in my heart I get to where I can't even breath. I was so scared I was having a heart attack one day that I went tgo emergeny room and they ran some test to check out my heart and the doctor says my heart was fine.
