t stay long. If i pass gas the pain is usaly gone after awhile. So were does the pain come from if its just gas. And why high enough in your chest to think its a heart problem?

I am a 26-yr-old female and for the past couple weeks I have been experiencing some pain in the left side of my chest. At times, it will come on suddenly, as though there is a giant bubble that won't pop and is so painful its hard to breath. It usually last a min or two. Most of the time, there is just a dull pain that continues in that area and sometimes spreads to the shoulder and upper arm. I am concerned because it is becoming more frequent but I am not sure what it is.

when you say excessive gas, do you mean you are passing gas a lot? Or there is pressure? Most ibs causes issues in the lower ab, not upper. Is it causing chest pain? If so, that may be more of an acid reflux type deal, or possibly even both.

but before these, like a year ago, i also got bad chest pain. usually lasted for a couple hours then it just turned out to be gas. i still am perplexed to this day. i noticed that drinking water,eating whole grains, and sleeping helps. try that. but if you got a lot of tests done then it has to be benign. dont worry, even though i know it hurts. just try the things i said and tell me how they work.

Thanks for the reply. I was reading a few things on the web. I found one that totally explained my symptoms to the T. I forgot what the name was, but it said you get bad gas pains caused by bubbles that get caught between two of your spleen and intestine. Says the pain is usually intermittent, which mine is. I haven't had the pain in over a day and half..but I watched what I ate as well. I don't think I can eat raw veggies ever..or anything with onions..even if they are cooked.

now, I have back pain between the shoulder blades and just under them, and pain in the centre of my chest permiating primarily to the right side of my chest. the pain seems to be where my lung is and deep breaths occasionly hurt. the pain in my chest feels like its in my ribs but its hard to tell, but my back pain feels deep, in my chest. any idea what the cause is? I've had an EKG (not sure if thats right but its the heart test) and its perfect.

I recently was in the hospital for a blood clot in the lungs and the put me on lovenox and warfarin, now I have severe gas which moves to my head and neck and cause me to get little if no sleep. Could this be caused by the medicine I am taking or something else?

Don't play around with Chest Pain, NO Matter what... Go to the ER Probibly nothing but a bad case of gas. But it's not worth dying over, Could also be something very serious. I had something similar a few years back would come and go come and go luckly for me it was stomach producing to much acid. But Please Don't Mess around with it have it checked out. ASAP....

I been having a chest pain for three days, but it usually pain for 2 hours. Although i have experience these pain before from the past, it usually come and go. But today i have a hard time to digest food, and my stomach feel weird. My whole body is working fine, legs and arm are both function normal, it just that my chest is feeling pain and my body is not digesting food today. So i don't know what is going in on. I have been scared to go the doctor with this and most everyone I have talked to said that it sounds like gas. When the pain starts, I have to take shallow breaths because if I try to breath deep and slow, it makes the pain worse. Is this something bad or simple?

For the past 9 months, I have been experiencing a discomforting pain on my right chest area. The pain is not in the whole chest area. It is centralized "between", my breast and shoulder blade. When I turn or bend on the right side, I experience a sharp stabbing pain. I find that my pain level would be a 10, if I am experiencing gas discomfort (from not eating on time, or ingesting a gas producing food) , but, my pain level would generally be on a pain scale of 4-6 (daily).

I have also been burping alot. The pain is gone if i relax my chest but the deeper the breath the sharper the pain.

So I was if family this weekend and we had dinner and I got a nasty stomach ache from gas so I went to the bathroom and wasnt able to to do anything but I let out a little gas then maybe an hour later we had desert and the same thing happened again but worse it made my stomach ache and gave me chest pain. When I got this for the first time, I thought I will die because of the gas coming up into my chest area and pain. I used to barp 500 to 1000 times a day. I was unable to breathe properly for 3 days. hello ,you are very young and your symtom show that your chest constant pain or different may be cause by the heart artery disease ,although you have not the shortness of breath or any other symptoms,but your chest paint constant 4 years,my suggestion is that take a examination of the heart ,the chest test MRI or cardogram check are the best choices for you .It is the very important thing for you to go to the hospital,and see the heart expert doctor ,pay more attention to you health.

I just had my first child (Alessandra) a little over a month ago. I am experiencing the EXACT same symptoms. My chest pain on the left side at times becomes unbearable but it hurts my whole chest. Gets much worse when i eat or drink anything. When i wake up in the morning i am freezing but sweating. Light headed and feel like if i move too quickly or at all i will faint. Its like i have to spend an hour lying there taking antacids and gas-x and pain medicine before i move.
