Avatar n tn belching, bloating, heartburn, sensitivity at the waist, intestinal gas, hiccups, difficulty in swallowing capsules, overall fatigue, full feeling at base of throat, pain or burning in upper chest, pressure in the chest, pain in the left side of chest. So I read on-line about hiatal hernia and I tried the self-massage technique described here and felt immediately better. I had to do it more than once over a period of time and I had a masseuse do it to me 3 times in 3 months.
Avatar m tn Recently posted I was having pain around belly button level. Seems like gas pain. Saw my GI doctor and had a CT scan with contrast and showed not much at all. Then I had an enteroscopy and he said possibly Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth as my intestine looked a little red. Took antibiotic for intestine and now taking the probiotic. Honestly I have no relief.
Avatar f tn I will add that after this started I did develop issues with my back - pinched nerve in right shoulder blade with pain in my right arm, left side neck stiffness and pain - and I'm usually tense in my neck and shoulder area. Don't know if this is related, but thought I should mention it.
Avatar n tn s very hard on the stomach and causes reflux and gerd. Take a Prilosec and walk. Get the gas out. Gas pain can be extremely painful and stressing about it will just make it so much worse. I know this is an old post but wanted to help anyone reading.
Avatar f tn I was having problems with swallowing a few weeks ago along with the pain. I could feel my food and beverage easing down my esophagus. I started taking 20 then after a bit of time 40 mg of Prilosec (normal dose is 20 mg) and that ended the swallowing issue but the stomach pain remained. I tried Gas X, laxative (even though I wasn't constipated), the Prilosec (still to this day, and there was one more thing I tried that I can't remember at the moment. I have no appendix or gallbladder.
Avatar n tn My heart tends to skip beats occasionally...PVC-type episodes. It seems to be very much related to my stomach problems. When I have gas or acidy stomach, my stomach distends a bit and this seems to cause the palpitations. It feels as if the stomach is pressing on the heart and making it beat irregular. Am I crazy? Or is there some type of relationship between stomach distress and heart palpitations?
Avatar f tn Helycobacter pylori causes inflammation of the stomach, from here UPPER ABDOMINAL PAIN. This bacteria yield gas, from here HARD STOMACH, which is from bloating from this gas. The same bacteria trigger acid secretion in stomach, which, when you have HIATUS HERNIA, refluxes up into esophagus and causes BURNING, TINGLING PAIN BETWEEN SHOULDER BLADES. Suggestion: have a breath test for H. pylori. Your symptoms are quite typical. The only thing which doesn't go with H.
Avatar n tn 6 temp rectal and did abdominal x rays 2 views, showed a lttle gas, and antiemetic. in the past when we moved from Colorado to Maryland and our son 19 yo forgot to feed and water the dog she ate carpet rement in her kennel. She was poohping carpet and one vet said she had a virus and another did surgery and removed a baggy of carpet and part of her bowels. I think the 1st vet was focused on abdominal issues.
Avatar n tn Felt like a heart attack. Went to ER. Nothing found. They wrote it off as gas and nothing more. Since then I have had gas on and off for some time. 2013, for unrelated reasonsThen later was found on an EKG To have an arrythmia. Got a cardiac ablation. Hasn't stopped the arrythmia but they said it was the non life-threatening type. After surgery, still had lot of gas. It eventually subsided.
Avatar m tn From this whole combo, what is bothering me the most right now is the fact that I have been suffocating myself with air/gas for the past year. I trap gas in my intestines, my belly gets very bloated. I also trap air inside my throat, esophagus, I can't burp. I was never able to. I often wake up not being able to breath. This only happens after i eat. At first it was a few foods, now even water does that to me. Gets much worst, if I take any medication ex. muscle relaxer, antidepressant.
Avatar m tn s esophagus, Hiatal hernia, acid reflux, IBS, gas and diverticulitus. I have been on Nexium 40mg twice a day, but I still wake up with the pain. Could this be caused by an ulcer ? I also noticed that the pain seems to go away after a bowl movement or if I eat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn t smoke and I only have a few beers once in awhile. This pain is in the same place every morning. If it is gas why would it sit in the same place ? Someone said, it was my Pyloric valve. I don't even know what that is, but it seems like once I move around the pain goes away until the next morning. I do have a hiatal herna and Barrette's Esophagus along with acid reflux and GERDS. I take NEXIUM 40mg. twice a day.
Avatar m tn Every morning I wake up with a burning pain under my rib cage, it goes from one side to the other. I went to my PCP and he said, it was gas. But I don't think that it is, who has gas pains in the exact same spot every morning ? I went to my GI doctor and told him about it and he just told me to keep taking my Nexium 40mg. I told him that I take it everyday without fail. I showd him were the pain was and he just said, I think its your intestines.
Avatar f tn Sometimes it is mildly annoying, other times it feels like a knife has been plunged in the middle of my stomach and twisted. This pain is not in my esophagus and I do not have heartburn. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn While I was staying in China, I developed some stomach problems such as trapped gas and stomach pain that would come and go at various times over a few years. I finally had a Gastric Endoscope done and it showed a good sized lump in the lower esophagus and an ulcer in the bottom of my stomach. Since I don't speak Chinese and my GF's English was poor, I didn't get a good explanation; I was supposed to go back in 6 months for another scope.
Avatar m tn I woke up with this issue (gas, cramps and gurgling and pain most likely from gas)on Apr 14, 2015 and have had it ever since. The colon gurgles especially after eating (anything). I release an enormous amount of gas regularly. I have hade constant pain in the upper left quadrant. I have had an abdominal ultrasound which showed some gall bladder sludge; everything else normal. Abdominal CT scan with barium and iodine. No issues.
Avatar n tn You've probably got gas and too much acid in your tummy, for a variety of reasons. Take an alka seltzer when your stomach hurts like that, and it'll release gas, which causes pain, and it'll return your body to its normal pH. It's like a tums only better. Drink some Acidophilus milk from the grocery store, try it on Cheerios, it helps break down waste, which if waste stays in the bowels too long, it'll give off gas. Don't eat huge meals, instead eat less more often.
Avatar f tn Hi just curious I was having for about 4 weeks...a burning sensation in my esophagus (I think...basically my chest area) that doesn't go away...I went to the doctor with no symptoms...only this burn...did tests and it doesn't seem to be heart related And no cough, no trouble breathing but now this burn seems to have suddenly worked its way into my upper back... Any ideas on what it might be ? I don't really have any other symptom besides this...
Avatar m tn Hi, I am surprised your doctor didn't offer you a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI), as they are usually prescribed to treat hiatus hernia, and I know several people who are doing very well on them, longterm. A hiatus hernia causes stomach acid to escape back up the esophagus, and over time this causes damage, which results in a change in the lining of the esophagus, and this is known as Barrett's Esophagus.
Avatar f tn For the past couple of months, my 59 year old mother has been complaining off and on about esophagus pain when she swallows and I have been extremely worried about it. She did go to the gastro doctor in November and mentioned it to the doctor, but unfortunately isn't scheduled for an endoscopy until mid-January.
Avatar m tn I also found out that chewing maalox would really immediately help with burping and gas (well, you will burp even more for a few minutes till the gas build up is gone). Try and get out and exercise. It really helps with the stress.
Avatar f tn We went to the hospital, took his blood pressure and found out that it was only gas an that he needs to just drink warm water to reduce the pain. 3 days after, again he felt the same pain, this time we went to test ECG.doc says nothing is wrong with his heart. He wakes up in early dawn feeling a bit out of breath and drinks water only. What exactly is happening? Is something wong with his heart? Could it be associated with his lungs? PLEASE HELP!
Avatar f tn Many many foods cause problems for me, in terms of poor digestion and gas. On occasion, I have issues with food simply passing down the esophagus (pizza, or dry bread). I, too, live a very restricted life, for fear symptoms while out with family or friends. I have to stand up often and try to let out a quiet belch to give me relief.
