If you had jaw and arm pain also, you really need to check this out. Probably just gas but jaw pain and radiating down left arm could be your heart. Better to check it out asap.
The problem I am having is a sporatic bout of very intense pain in the center of my chest, between my shoulder blades and in my jaw. It will last anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes and usually occurs at night while I'm in bed. I've been woken up by the pain before and it is very scary. It feels like I'm having a heartattack, but then the pain subsides and goes away.
Anyway every test came back fine so he also believed it was the costo and it was irritating muscles in my neck and face so this is why i am getting pain there. It is the pain in my neck/jaw that i am finding hardest to deal with as i never had this on my last costo flare up and it is making me think that my heart is involved. Have i reason to be worried or should i be happy with the tests that have been done on me and with the doctors diagnosis? Should i be pushing for any further tests?
I get them sometimes, and they suck, but they're not dangerous. Gas pain can reach to the base of the chest, where the colon stretches across the top of the abdomen. Again, though, being short of breath is a bit worrisome. If you're near your annual physical, just bring it up then. Otherwise, it's worth getting to a doctor sometime in the near future to get it checked out.
Has your wife experienced any other symptoms such as arm/jaw/back pain, fatigue, or trouble sleeping? Because your wife has pain in her left side along with burping include she may be suffering from indigestion/heartburn or an ucler. Does her pain get worse after eating or drinking? Have you tried an OTC acid reducer or something like Tums to see if that helps?
I'm 50 years old and I recently participated in a cardiac study that provided CT/ MRI/ Nuclear Stress tests, echocardiagrams etc... I was told I had 'significant' CAD by my internist. Through the test I discovered that I had an MI on the surface of the heart that didn't penetrate the muscle." I've felt nothing I would describe as pain in the center of my chest, left arm, jaw or back.
Here are my other symptoms that i have had. (I am currently only experiencing chest pain and jaw pain) .chest discomfort (mild pressing feeling) .aches all over my body (mainly arms and feet) .heart beating too hard .irregular heart beat .twitching muscles .tingling all over my body (arms mainly) .acid stomach .gassy pains I think that my jaw and chest pains are caused by gas because one time I was walking in town and I felt like I had to burp.
Can gas cause you to have pains in your upper chest that also make your lower jaw hurt?
On plavix, asprin, zocor as well as other drugs for other reasons. I keep having periodic jaw aches, chest pain discomfort, and sometimes when I lay on my left side in bed the jaw starts aching again. I haven't taken any nitro yet, but wonder if I should just to see if the discomfort goes away. After the first sex the jaw started aching and the ache lasted 4 to 5 hours. Do you think I should consult my doctor?
I had 2 ablations and each time my heart rate increased for a short time after the procedure. I did not experience any chest pain or discomfort other than my leg was a bit sore. Interestingly, after the second procedure, my BP rose enough to warrant a small dose of medication. Up until then, my BP was on the low side...95-110/55-65. Hope you are feeling better. I'm happy to hear your test results are good!! Take care.
went to an ortho doctor because of a nerve problem in my back, was put on prednisone and mobic. started having bad chest pains, lump in throat, acid reflux, stomach pains, left arm and jaw pain. stopped taking all meds and now i still have the same issues just not as bad. symptoms come and go throughout the day. doesnt matter if i rest or do work. most mornings i wake up and for the most part i feel fine. get my day started with a cup of coffee and i do smoke. bout a pack a day.
I, too, would like to know what causes this. It is very annoying, considering that the smell of gas/exhaust makes me nauseous.
m. one night with SEVERE chest pain and pressure that was felt front and back and into the left shoulder, neck and jaw. Heart rate was 128 at rest. Nitro didn't do anything, morphine didn't help pain. Was given blood thinners and beta blockers which finally slowed rate and eased pain some. Chest was sore for days and still doesn't always feel right. ALL tests ( blood enzymes, ekg's, stress tests, cat scan and x-rays) are O.K. What can this be?
After having my 2nd child, 4 years ago, I started keeping track of heart papitations/chest pain that I was having. It seemed to be 1-2 weeks before I started my period. I had an ultrasound/stress test 2 years ago and everything came out fine. However, I am still having these chest pains and sometimes shortness of breath (especially when I workout). I am not one to go to the doctor often, so I am hoping this is nothing serious.
Could you please tell me what types of tests you had done to determine what medicines and treatments you ended up using to clear up your chest pain? (upper GI, endoscopy???) My chest pain/pressure is under my left pectoral, feels like it's in my ribs, sometimes it hurts when I touch it, sometimes it doesn't. They're calling it "Non-specific Chest pain", that's why the anxiety diagnosis. I guess I'm bad at describing it.
last night I rolled over in bed and began to feel this pain in my upper left chest and upper left side into my armpit. The pain extended into my left arm (down to my elbow) and into my left shoulder blade. The "pain" more feels like a pulled or strained muscle though it does not worsen when I take deep breaths or change positions.
Im a 21 year old male i had a sudden pain in my chest i remember having it before but it usually goes away but its right under my collarbone i just guess it would be gas i think it still hurt because i been pressing to see if it still hurts the spot doesnt feel like a sharp pain dosent hurt when i breath or move just hurts when i press it i think its just sore i googled and the only thing sounds the same as what i described was Angina but i dont think i have that im not really sure

I have reflux and gas and it causes severe sharp pain in my chest that hurts mostly when I lay down. So it sounds somewhat like your problem. I take GasX (maximum daily dose all at once when I get it). I don't have it every day though. I take 150mg Ranitidine (can't think of the common name) daily when I'm having stomach pain. I'll take it for a month or two until the pain goes away.
When gas moves from the stomach to the the chest, esophageal nerve endings become stretched, creating the extreme discomfort that causes some to panic. The best way to alleviate chest gas pain is to ingest a substance that will eliminate it in the form of a belch or flatulence. Carbonation Remedy This is the easiest remedy of all. Drink a decent sized serving of an extremely carbonated beverage (i.e. club soda), and--preferably in private--let out a a tremendous burp.
, 200 lbs, smoker (on Zyban to quit), not very active. I am on medication for acid reflux. Anyway, I have been having heavy chest pressure/pain for 3+ weeks. This morning I woke up and was profusely sweating, but there was no chest pain at the time. Now, sitting at my desk, I have mild chest discomfort, a slight pain in my left arm, and a funny sensation up my neck into my jaw. Not pain...just feels weird! I don't have shortness of breath, but am fatigued and don't have a lot of energy.
Mine starts with kind of a burning in my stomach and then it even goes into my neck and jaw and chest and the pain is horrible. I always have a bottle of water with me anywhere I am, even church. It's the only way to relieve it. I had a bad one last night. I live in fear that one of these days the water won't work. I can't find anyone who knows what it is but I am glad I'm not alone in this.
I have been having chest pains (on and off) for about two weeks now. Lots of extra gas and belching, pain in my back between shoulder blades, etc....I have had rythymn problems for years and take a beta blocker. VERY small dosage, though. I had a nuclear stress test done in the fall and everything looked great. Blood pressure is great. Think I should be concerned? I thought it was all stomach related and just had an endoscopy done. It came back ok too.....any ideas?
I was continuing to have gastric issues and was tired of experiencing an upset stomach. About a week ago I awoke at around 11pm with some mild chest pain. Not crushing or tight, more like sharp cramping. I got worried that I was experiencing some symptoms of panic attack so I went to my cabinet and grabbed at 75mg Effexor tablet and took it. Three hours later I awoke with a very rapid heart beat, and intense ringing in my ears. I ignored and continued with a dose the next night.
Three days later I wasn't better and I had other symptoms like chest pain so I went to the er where they ran the same tests with the same results except for high blood pressure now. The cardiologist said my heart was fine. I wasn't convinced so they performed a resting echo on me which showed nothing wrong. He told me to take 50mg of toprol a day. My heart rate has gone down with toprol but I still have chest pains and tingling, etc. I'm convinced I have a blockage.
my doctor said my chest pain is caused by gerd.
I have had burning skin sensations , Sharp arm pain , chest pain , shoulder pain , back pain and my burning sensations were all over even tongue and throat . I also had a fear of having clots? for some reason lol .. i mean how could i get them in the first place. I get burning sensations from my chest to my finger tips up my neck like a sharp and cold stinging sensation it comes and goes .
I had no idea so many people are dealing with the exact same thing I am. I do deal with anxiety but I refuse to take medication. For the past week I have been having jaw & face pain, chest pain & tightness, arms & shoulders going numb, along with my legs feeling like they are giving out on me. I went to the ER 3 times in 1 weekend (they thought I was going crazy). I freak out because I have a 1 year old and it is difficult dealing with a busy 1 year old & anxiety attacks.
Then, this irregular beating in my chest scares me and causes anxiety, then the viscous cycle repeats. The anxiety causes more chest pain, more gas, and more discomfort. I have been trying everything to treat myself. Changed my diet (was drinking lots of soda and taking NSAID pain relievers every day) for the most part, but due to my work schedule I do eat too much fast food to this day. I drink nothing but water now, I have been watching everything I do.
