This chest discomfort has been a big nuisance and I am tired of having it and just want to find out what is truly causing it.
I avoided spicy foods and food that causes gas. I took Gas-Ex from time to time when the gas pain was severe. I took Pepto Bismol when I had diarrhea and cramping. I also took over the counter acid reducers for heartburn. My recommendation is to ask for a referral right away to a gynecologist and find out what other tests should be completed to further evaluate and treat the cyst.

Also over the past few days it seems that every time I eat, no matter what it is or even if its very light or bland i get horrible upper GI gas and bloating. Now today, the discomfort in my upper abdomen and the upper GI gas is worse than usual. Again, the pain isnt severe or sharp. It feels some what broad. Sometimes in direct center of my upper abdomen, sometimes a bit left or right or across the entire area. Right now, its direct center and a bit more intense than it has been.
An alternative cardiologist listened to me describe my gas and burping and passing wind and said the gas was connected to the afib...that gas was pressing on the vagus nerve and causing the heart to misfire and beat too fast and out of rhythm. I took gas X and eventually the symptoms and the heart problems went away. This was six years ago. Now, the problem is back. I have had a cardioversion to get the heart back to sinus rhythm, but it didn't work.
I imagine the swelling you have is of course because your guts are full, and as the waste breaks down, it'll give off gas. An alka seltzer will help get the gas out of your stomach, and it'll also make you feel more comfortable. The only other thing I can think of about shingles is it does cause a paralysis of some kind... could be if it's near your abdomen, and once the shingles goes away, your digestion will improve, but I am not an expert on all that stuff.
This extreme stress has caused the bowel to become very tortuous, spasming trying to move the feces/gas through thus causing the diverticuli. The motility of the gut is now very poor. Trying to pass a bowel movement even with massive prescribed fiber is very difficult. When small amounts do pass, they are explosions. What apparently has happened to me is because of the surgery, food is being expeled immediately from the stomach.

Constipation or gas can cause quite some severe pain. Gas may build in the transverse colon and cause pain under the ribs. Gas can build in other parts of large and small intestine. I usually have gas anyway from ibs, but this was/is excessive and increased), pain in ovary and back area and leg, frequent urination, and general malaise. The pain wasn't as bad so I never went to see what was wrong. This time I was missing periods in conjunction with all the other symptoms so they were diagnosed. I also went through another period of almost constan pain on my right ovary with severe constipation during periods, but nothing showed up on ultrasound.

I am currently 25+ weeks pregnant and at least a few times a day I have abdominal pain and discomfort (pulling, stretching feeling). It does not feel like contractions because it can last up to an hour. I had kidney stones last week and it does not feel like that again. This has been happening on and off for weeks. I am not sure if it is just the extra weight of my belly causing the discomfort. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is this normal?? Thanks for your help.

I had my gallbladder removed about 7 years ago and immediately afterwards experienced severe cramping, dull burning and general stomach discomfort when I would eat cheese (but not milk or milk products). The "attack" seemed to subside after taking alka selzer but not other products such as mylanta. This condition lasted for several weeks and then disappeared. The problem is that I've recently begun to experience this condition again.
Nothing rolling around in there and I don't pass gas at all.I have had this problem now for a couple of years off and on and from mild to severe. Right now though, it's the worse I have ever seen it. It is causing me a lot of problems, discomfort and pain. The pain is up against or under my ribs and I often feel like I have a pinched side on both sides. Kind of like when you swim after eating. I can't even walk, really. Not normally, I waddle like a duck.

I am a 47 year old male who started having some minor chest discomfort about 11 months ago. To be safe, I went to the ER and had it checked out. They told me after about an hour that it did not appear to be anything about my heart, but had me stay overnight to runs some tests. I had a complete cardiac work up including blood tests, xrays and a Thallium stress test, all of which came back normal. I was released with instructions to follow up with my doctor.
a CT scan), can evaluate whether a hernia or mass is causing the discomfort. To further work up the gas itself, I would consider studies to evaluate malabsorption - i.e. either stool tests to tests for fecal fat or serum antibody tests to evaluate for celiac disease. I have recently been experiencing some discomfort in my abdomen area. Today, I began having severe occasional cramps that felt close to contractions. This was also accompanied by fever and chills. I am not pregnant, so I know it is not labor pains of any type. My doctor put me on an antibiotic and said come back in a week if it is not any better. Any ideas of what might be causing these pains?
Every month I would be in pain another day prior to my period so by the time a year came I was cramping 2 weeks prior to my period and the pain became very severe. I went to my gp and had an exam and pap smear and everything was normal. I also had a pelvic ultrasound which was also normal. (Which was all done in May) In June I seen an ob/gyn and was put on seasonique.
