She said that the vagus nerve controls heart rate sometimes and if it is irritated by the gas buildup and pressure in the stomach and can cause arrhythmia's and dizziness from drop of blood pressure. I was also in the same position with my neck bent forward while I was gaming and this was for about 4=5 hours could this also cause dizziness? Just bad posture in general ?
I was diagnosed with MS last October 07, after server back pain with burning/numbness in rt thigh. MRI of lower lumbar was fine. One month later had sever dizziness for 10 days and MRI of brain showed white matter changes(spots). They called it an MS episode. In July my back pain became chronic and for the last 22 days I have sever dizziness and the last 10 days it has been accompanied with sense of being on an aesthetic gas(body numbness).

I took Zantac most of the time. Three years ago I went the doctor for heartburn and gas, mostly burping, they perscribed me to Nexium. I took this for 2 years which controlled my heartburn and gas. For the past year I have been taking Zantac. Three months ago on vacation I had severe heartburn and gas, the Zantac would not stop the symptoms. I went to the doctor again and he perscribed Aciphex, which I took for 10 days, but then I was having bad side effects, such as cramping, nausia, etc.
An alternative cardiologist listened to me describe my gas and burping and passing wind and said the gas was connected to the afib...that gas was pressing on the vagus nerve and causing the heart to misfire and beat too fast and out of rhythm. I took gas X and eventually the symptoms and the heart problems went away. This was six years ago. Now, the problem is back. I have had a cardioversion to get the heart back to sinus rhythm, but it didn't work.
I have suffered for many years with gas but whenever I mentioned it to the Doctors I was told to avoid foods causing gas and so I thought I would just have to live with it. I also have gas when I eat beans(large serving) and milk products. Some people say their lactose intolerance goes away after being on gluten free diet for a few months. I will have to wait and see. No where on the internet I found a suggestion that just having extreme gas is caused by gluten intolerance.
24 hours later she was taken to the ER with head pain, back pain, dizziness, and was unable to stand. The doctor inquired about hyperbaric decompression and was told it was too late. She was treated for an ear infection and discharged. Three months later she was diagnosed post menopausal. Her ovaries had atrophied. She has seen neurologists, endocronologist, gynecologist, ent, neurosurgeon, dentist, opthamalogist, gen. practioner, and psychiatrist.
It is similar to oxygen and binds to the red blood cells, which carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues. Dizziness, visual disturbances and unconsciousness can result from exposure to this gas. It is common in homes where there are malfunctioning furnaces for this problem to arise. In buildings, high concentrations come about when there is a truck unloading depot within the building and gasoline powered trucks idle.
HISTORY: I suffer from Anxiety (Panic Attacks) & I have some Depression history. I don't really know when it started - but in 2007 I finished my studies & had my first job. It started well - but soon after I started developing depression. I was working long hours, I didn't see my friends, I wasn't getting the salary I was expecting & my boss didn't pay me the overtime which was promised. I also had an enormous Student loan to pay off & was suffering financially.
I guess I really would like to know from the surgeon if my gallbladder could possibly be stimulating the vagus nerve possibly causing dizziness. The gallbladder also showed it was enlarged on a ct scan once. My heart also races when I do not feel well. I dont get that classic under the right rib cage severe pain. The mid back pain is bad but it seems to be affected by movement and then at times it just aches in that T11,T12 region. Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated.
Describe the chest pain, is it like pressure? Kinda like somethings sitting on ur chest and causing discomfort/pain. Does it hurt to take a deep breath? I had all the symptoms u described minus the sinus infection but my chest pain I had on and off since child hood. I was always told it was stress, anxiety and even gas(which can cause chest pain).
For the past month, I've been having constipation, dizziness, stomach cramping, gas, and indigestion. I feel soo blah all the time. My doctor advised me to take a pregnancy blood test, and it came back negative. I have no clue what's going on with my body! I've been developing boils on my shoulders and a few on my face. I don't know what's happening to me!
In my opinion, vascular abnormality could be a reason for your symptoms. Subclavian steal syndrome is a example. A patient may feel dizziness( decreased blood flow of vertebral artery) while he moving his arm( need more blood). Maybe similar mechanism occurs while chewing foods.
The strangest symptons though are just constant vibrations or movements in my intestinal area, bad heart burn, bad gas, and a feeling like I have to burp but just cant. Im hoping that my heart is fine and the feelings are just from my focusing on it too much, but I just dont know. Can anyone relate to this? Its been 3 months and I cant even sleep anymore.
I went to the eye doctor and other than my prescription changing half a point, he said I have two healthy eyes. This dizziness and the fear of it being something serious is causing me much stress, seems like sometimes the stress and the dizziness are both relieved by a good cry. This makes me think that it's something sinus related. Nothing seems to match up and any relief seems to be temporary. I'm glad to know I'm not the only person feeling this way.
This test can tell them if it is central or peripheral that is causing the vertigo or dizziness. I bet Quix could get more technical for you. My test was mostly normal - with the exception of a bilateral weakness to air caloric stimulation and the doctors suggestion was to rule out a central nervous system disorder, as he didn't think it was a peripheral cause. Evil neuro #1 told me my test was "normal" so there was no further investigation of it.
I am an 18 year old female and am suffering from chronic dizziness/lightheadedness, nausea but no vomiting, trouble focusing my eyes, headaches, and sporadic pains through my torso; mostly chest and stomach. These symptoms have been going on since the middle of April this year (2007) and I've lost about 15 pounds since it started. Some days it'll be okay and other days It'll feel like I'm dying. I've been in and out of the hospital since it started, and my doctor's office knows me by name.
mainly gas and nausea, some indigestion. In the first year of school my nausea was so bad I lost close to ten pounds because I stopped eating for fear that I would throw up. Mind you, I've only ever thrown up once in my life that I can recall.
I lost 20 lbs which is great but now it seems like I'm more sensitive to certain foods causing stomach gas. I just recently linked my heart palps to gas/indigestion! I can predict when they are coming just by what I feel or hear from my stomach. I had a really scary episode last week that landed me back in the ER. I felt like my heart stopped- scared me to death so we went in. They hooked me up to the EKG for an hour or so and the heart palps happened while I was being monitored.
I am not sure whether the A/Fib is causing the gas/bloating and the asthma attack or the other way around. Another interesting symptom that happened to me was when I went to the ER with an A/Fib event. It took them 14 hours to gain control of my heart rythym. I had to urinate a lot. I'm talking quarts. I found it surprising to me that the doctors did not know why, for I know it was related to the A/Fib event. Most Doctors are not scientists, nor do they have the time to be.
I have never felt this before, so I know my birth control is causing this! I go to the gyno in a couple weeks and I hope that she can figure something out. I do want to get pregnant again for quite a few years, so I definitely need some form of birth control. I hope that I can find something that will not cause me to have severe anxiety. I have the most horrid panic attacks. I worry constantly, and I can never have any fun because of my anxiety.
In some people (like me) standing upright can trigger an abnormal response from the nerves in the heart- causing the leg veins to dialate rather than constrict, and leading to dizziness or faintness. This sounds confusing, and it is but it is fairly easy to dx and treat. A cardiologist can do a tilt-table test to diagnose this conditition, and blood pressure meds, increasing fluids and in some people an increase in dietary salt can help. I really hope that this helps!
My daughter in law has been going through maxillary sinus pressure, seemingly causing dizziness for years now. Have almost maxed out in South Florida with doctors. Her father flew her to Colombia where she is going through more tests. The dizziness is the type one felt when one dad would swing you around real fast and then suddenly stop. It is that immediate feeling that she has all the time. Oddly, she feels better driving. Doctors are big on giving you valium.
After a bout with diarrhea for three days I then became constipated along which was accompanied by stomach cramps and horrible gas, however i was still awaken by stomach pain at 5am to urinate and then again at 6am for bowel movement which was now mushy feces with ragged edges that sink to the bottom of the toilet bowel. The cramps / gas in my stomach circulated from the left side of my stomach to the mid section of my lower back which was very painful.
didn't know these issues were SO COMMON (nausea, gas, dizziness) before period or even during. But once i researched, i saw how there's sooooo many women dealing w the same thing. I really was thinking that i was pregnant every month! Bc all these really are soo similar! But once the tests were coming out negative, I.began to worry that there was something wrong with me. I have not found anything that works except emetrol syrup for the nausea. It alsi helps me release the gas too.
I still have found no doc that will even talk to me about gas and pvcs, dizziness, jolts, thumps and twitches. But I KNOW they're related to gas. One thing that's essential to me when I get all these symptoms is to EAT. If I eat I burp a lot and when the gas starts coming up the symptoms subside. Sometimes it takes a long time, but that's how I get rid of them - by eating something hearty like a piece of whole wheat bread with peanut butter.
It startled me awake and I felt some shortness of breath and dizziness. During the day I have been having times of extreme dizziness where I feel like I am going to faint, Chest pains/Palpatations, shortness of breath, Pain in my back more towards the left side and on occasion pain down the inside of my left arm and tingling in arm or hand. I went to the hospital and had blood work, ekg and chest xray done. All were normal. My blood pressure is normal, my blood sugar is normal.
far and close objects, blurry vision (occasionally) • Fullness ears/wet feeling (occasionally) Nighttime/resting position -> attacks: • Pins & needles: arms, legs, head and chest • Heart palpitations • Heartburn • Sweating • Ringing ears Tests: • Blood tests - ok (liver, bldcount, glucose, sedi, thyr, chol) • Allergy tests - negative (food-mix & shellfish) • Feces test - no parasites, HP* positive • Gastroscopy - ok (no ulcers, stomach biopsy ok) • Balance test - results not back
My stool has not been normal for about a week, it's either light browningish or extremely dark kaki. I have also a lot of gas. I'm very concerned because my symptoms are getting worse. I believe there is a link between my digestive problem and my neurological symptoms. As each time I get hungry the strong dizziness hits me almost to a point of passing out without food comsuption. As soon as I eat, I get better but the process repeats again when if I go hungry.
