Avatar n tn There are some bacteria in the gut that produce hydrogen sulfide gas. Sometimes this gas is produced in such huge quantities that the sulfide oxidase enzyme in the wall of the gut is not able to oxidize all of it and convert it to thiosulfate. This gas has a smell of rotten eggs. You need to cut down food items that contain sulfites. Most of this gas comes from sulfites a person consumes, which is a part of all preservatives.
Avatar n tn Hello, Sometimes severe coughing can lead to vomiting. There are many causes of nausea. Stress, medications, reflux disease, gastritis, hepatitis, migraine; CNS causes are few conditions presenting wit nausea and headache. The presence of associated symptoms and clinical examination findings may be important for correct diagnosis and treatment. It is possible that GERD is causing acid and food to reflux back. You will need antacids and medications for your cough. Take light food.
Avatar m tn Last night, I awoke with serious gas, so much so I felt like vomiting, started sweating all over, got real wet, and then after defecating a fair amount of loose material, I felt relief. That was an exception, but very alarming. So far, no Doc has given me a decent diagnosis, and I have been through nearly all of the GERD type medicines, both prescription and over the counter without relief. Avatar f tn Hi. Bloating and gas pains are common adverse events in patients undergoing any kind of chemotherapy. The stress from the treatment itself can either increase acid production (which can lead to increased gas in the bowels), or cause the bowels to stop moving (which also leads to accumulation of gas). Some supportive medication used for controlling chemotherapy-induced vomiting (e.g. metochlopramide) can also cause bowel movement to slow down.
Avatar n tn * Immediately or shortly after exposure to 30 ppm or more of chlorine gas, a person may have chest pain, vomiting, coughing, difficulty breathing, or excess fluid in their lungs. Exposure to 430 ppm in air for 30 minutes will cause death. * The health effects of breathing air that has less than 30 ppm of chlorine are the same as listed below for inhaling liquid bleach vapors. * Liquid chlorine bleach and its vapors (at levels of 3-6 ppm in air) are irritating to eyes.
Avatar m tn This pain could also be acidity, gas or heart burn. The intestinal gas can cause difficulty in breathing, tightening of chest wall causing pain chest. If these above cardiac symptoms are absent, it could be acidity, gas, or heartburn. You need to consult a physician with these concerns. Rule out anxiety also. Take care.
Avatar m tn I had all my symptoms come on REALLY suddenly on May 12 and most of them have not left. I had nausea (but no vomiting), loss of appetite (I would gag when I was eating), and a rumbling and gurgling in my stomach like something is in my stomach. This felt like the stomach flu almost but I didn't have any diarrhea. Sitting up seemed to help.
328799 tn?1276565732 I think your anxiety is playing with you, because an anxious stomach causes loose stools and cramps. Relax and don't worry. You didn't eat any! And even if you did, not everyone gets it. For example, I have a huge fear of vomiting, and when the stomach flu comes around my area, I freak out, thinking I have it. I have nausea, diarrhea, etc, but I've never thrown up. I think a lot of times the anxiety can really cause your body this stress. And the IBS?

Avatar f tn I am 29 year old male. I have a problem of frequent bloating. I spend lot of time to clear my bowel. I don't feel constipated but I feel as if gas is causing obstruction. When gas is out the motion is good and in sometime it stops and I need to wait for another pocket of gas to be out. This way I need to spend a lot of time to clear my bowel. In some days when am unable to clear my bowel completely i feel bloated and uncomfortable with flatulence.

Avatar n tn My doctor said I had acid reflux and a vitamin b12 deffecincy but the medication seemed to worsen my symptoms making me vomit a lot more ( a lot more bile and also foam even making it come up my throat without vomiting) and feel nauseus almost everyday so I took myself off of it. I don't believe that I have reflux because I can never feel the acid coming up my throat except when I was taking this medication. I also am always tired no matter how much sleep I have.
Avatar f tn When your pregnant your muscles relax internally also. It allows extra things to pass through that you could normally hold. That's why vomiting and gas is so easy. Not stress we are all doing it. Diet can help but your still going to have a tendency to.
Avatar f tn For a week now I have had extreme urgency to relieve bowel movements, diarrhea, occasional vomiting, and one weak lower abdomen. As the week progressed the urges to use the restroom persisted, along with the gas, however the stool was not as much and it was more difficult to produce. I have noticed for at least 5 of the last 7 days it has had a yellow-white color to it. I have no idea what is going on, any ideas?

720228 tn?1530911279 Lactose intolerance occurs when we have a deficiency of the enzyme lactase, meaning we cannot digest lactose, a sugar in dairy products. This leads to abdominal pain, bloating, gas, and diarrhea. It often runs in families. You could try eliminating dairy from your son’s diet and see if that helps. However, if his burping starting after the surgery last week I think this is less likely to be the reason. Often burping in a young child is due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Avatar f tn this is my first pregnancy and i have gas that will not release which causes me to have stomach pain is it a simple solution to this???
Avatar f tn ever since childhood ive had gas issues, but now as an adult I am either unable to sleep or im waking up early in the morning in so much pain I can barely move because of the gas and discomfort in my stomach. so bad it makes me vomit. the only way the pain goes away is if I take a hot bath, vomit or go to the bathroom. what could this be?
973741 tn?1342342773 s not my understanding of how the body tries to get rid of acid. I mean, it causes gas and flatulence and sometimes diarrhea, but not vomiting, as far as I know. My long-term use of meds and my recent attempt to fix a hip problem with ibuprofen which I had to take Prilosec with to avoid problems has left me with a lot of digestive problems, mostly gas. So I know acid and what it does, and it isn't vomiting, at least in my experience, it's sitting on the pot. If you get my, uh, drift.
