gas causes chest pain

ve had some pain in my upper left and right chest area at different times and not lasting long. The pain is not bad and it doesn't last long and it is usually accompanied with belching or gas. I also have a history of asthma too. Any idea of what might be causing this pain since initial test seem to rule out cardiac problems. No one in my family has a history of cardiac problems either.

I've been having constant pain in my chest in th middle and right side. It is not sharp but an aching pain. Wondering what could cause this? I've had inflamed pecks in the past and this is not the same pain. I am a 30 year old woman of mixed race.

I will add an agree to thease ladies i get it so bad sometimes too that my chest hurts was told it was angina (exsess gas in your abdominal cavity) causes a lot of pain some people even to to the hospital thinking its a heart attack!!

I am a 26-yr-old female and for the past couple weeks I have been experiencing some pain in the left side of my chest. At times, it will come on suddenly, as though there is a giant bubble that won't pop and is so painful its hard to breath. It usually last a min or two. Most of the time, there is just a dull pain that continues in that area and sometimes spreads to the shoulder and upper arm. I am concerned because it is becoming more frequent but I am not sure what it is.

The issues are much worse whenever I try to do aerobic exercise, unless I can do it on a completely empty stomach, the gas pushes up into my chest and causes significant discomfort. Immediately when I jump in the water to swim, I feel the gas pushing upward (buoyancy). It causes such discomfort than I can't do these activities. After a long while, I'll burp maybe 5 times in a row, and I'll feel fine.

when you say excessive gas, do you mean you are passing gas a lot? Or there is pressure? Most ibs causes issues in the lower ab, not upper. Is it causing chest pain? If so, that may be more of an acid reflux type deal, or possibly even both.

Hello. I've been experiencing the following problems. They have been happening along with lots of anxiety, stress etc. because I worry about these a lor and I'm not sure what it all means. Would help me feel better TO know. I might have botched the description of some of this stuff but that is primarily because I don't understand the difference in most pain types (i.e. difference between what they like to call 'sharp' pain or 'dull' pain).

Aside hepatitis, other likely causes that may need to be considered with the described symptoms include GB inflammation, causes related to the chest wall, neuromuscular causes etc. The prognosis in case of hepatitis would depend on a number of factors such as the primary causes, patient immunity etc. I would suggest consulting an internist or a gastroenterologist/ hepatologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. I've recently been experiencing a dull pain over my left breast, fullness in chest and throat, heart palpatations, pain in the left shoulder and excessive belching. Although I have had many tests done, everything has pretty much come back normal. The only thing that the doctors could come up with was Superventricular Tachycardia. I think it may be more, but I'm not sure. Despite medications the symptoms still have not gone away. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am 20 years old, weigh 125. I have been having random chest pain and when it starts hurting , it hurts to take a deep breath. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does it is really distracting.

A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. If all these are ruled out, then it can be due to acidity. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Walking around also helps clear gas.

Hello , 3 days ago i started to get this real sharp stabbing pain in the middle of my chest between the breasts . at first i thought it was gas so i was taking anti acids . so far not helping . i did try and see what exactly is causing this . i thought maybe it was after i ate well it is but not all foods , i noticed hard crunchy food ide get a sharp stabbing pains, but i get them at any time of the day wether im eating or not .

Yes great BBQ, that is what i ate on Sat, someone said that there is a intestine around the spine that gets gas caught in it sometimes. That is cool, but i just don't understand how a pain in the chest under your nipple area can be from gas. But hey i'll confess im not a guienes. Cardiologist ( because it causes extreme chest pain and shortness of breath) he did chest xray echo, ekg, 30 day monitor...internal Specialist who did a full panel if bloodwork that would show anything ... Infectious disease who did the same plus abdominal X-ray, plus I've been to the er twice. All of them say they see no issues. No advice, that maybe it's stress or depression.
