I am not really familular with the dosage of the buprenorphine and gabapentin. However 120mg of oxycodone is a huge amount are you planning on taking that doge all at one time? I take 60mgs aday 15mg every 4-6 hrs. Plus I am on fentenyl patches 100mcg every 72 hrs. The best Idea is to speek with you dr to see if the change can be made watch how you word the questions drs dont like to be told what to do they would rather think its they are the one to come up with the idea. ve tried gabapentin several times in addition to being on oxycontin and oxycodone (and some other meds at the same time.) I did find it helped with the pain but I had a bad side effect in that it made me slur my words (to the point people thought I was drunk and I don't drink.) Also, you cannot stop it cold turkey due to a seizure risk but it's not like you have withdrawals like you do with narcotics. I would also make sure you see how it affects you before driving.
I became addicted to oxycodone 15mg in 2012 after my first back surgery, obviously I was on them while I was in the hospital for 7days after surgery then took them for about 4 days once I got home. I tried to stop and became sick and realized I was addicted. I go to a pain clinic for my chronic pain. Since then I had surgery on my elbow and just 2 weeks ago I had another back surgery. My oxycodone has never been upped in dosage so of course it doesn't help with the pain.
I had a Maligram two years ago they hit a nerve, the pain ran down the right hip all the way down the right leg and into my r foot, it thru me over the table, I am on Lyrica, gabapentin and Oxycodone, my back surgeon wants me to take Norco, but the primary has me on Oxy, 5/325 Norco 10/325, I want to wean myself off the oxy, so if I took oxycodone one day and Norco the next, would there be a reaction?
I was taking 100mgs oxycodone a day for chronic back and knee pain, 900mgs gabapentin also for chronic pain, also 3(7.5mg) zopiclone at night to sleep and 1.5(7.5mg) during the day to sleep. I have stopped the oxycodone cold turkey with bad withdrawals, now at 13 days. My question is can I safely stop the zopiclone cold turkey or do I need to slowly taper off it?
I have now maxed out on 3300 mg gabapentin daily. Also using lidocane patches, tizanidine for spasms, and now 10 mg oxycodone. I had one injection in L5 disc herniation. Did not work. Now waiting till July 14 for injection in S1. If doesnt work then another mri then surgery. This has been going on since April 3. Got hurt at work. Im a Cna. Im about ready to give up. The nerve pain feels like Im being skinned alive. If anyone knows anything that could help please let me know!!
Im taking one percocet 10-325 wih three 300mg of gabapentin every 6hrs.Its not helping with chronic arthritis that has taken over my body,sciatica,carpal tunnel on both hands(had surgery on one already) restless leg syndrome.Also,had knee replacement on one leg(2 yrs ago) and have to get one on the other. What can i use instead? .. I've taken the highest mgs. of percocet and vicodin switching between both and weaning between both.And done that,did that on the cortisone shots.
what type of meds did your pain doc prescribe you. i have a hx of oxycodone addictions so i am fearful as to what they can do for me as far as pain control. any info would be very helpful. thank you in advance.
Hi. I'm wondering if it is safe for me to take Gabapentin for withdrawal symptoms from methadone? I read somewhere that the gaba is sometimes prescribed for that. I have never taken it before in my life and got a hold of a few 300mg capsules the other day. I have been into opiates off and on for about 8 years, getting pretty bad into them this past year. I think it is alot mental with me though. I started off on Perc 5's and 10's, graduating to oxy 30's about a year ago.
I have been getting injections for this when its unbearable, but im apprehensive about surgical treatment. I have been on (6 yrs) Gabapentin, now at 1200mg 4 times a day along with Oxycontin and breakthu oxycodone. I'm also taking Celebrex as needed Duloxetine 60 mg at night and Tizanidine 4mg twice a day, as needed, Xanax as needed. In the last month i started experiencing severe depression, insomnia, memory issues, mind fog and libido issues.
then she asked me how the pain meds where working, (they had me on 10 mg of oxycodone and 300mg gabapentin per day)so I told her the oxycodone helped very little , and the gabapentin did nothing but make me sleep all the time.
i have to say the gabapentin helped me so much as well.. It made it tolerable, didn't take the withdrawals away completly but it did help so much.. i was able to get up and around after 2 days and eating , and it keeps the anxiety down.. just my own opinion ..
I am currently on 40mg Oxycontin 3times a day and Oxycodone imm realease 30mg 3 times a day, Baclofen 10mg 4 times a day, tramadol 50mg 6 a day, Vitamins of all kinds, testosterone injection once a week, Naproxen 3times a day, Trazadone 150mg at bedtime. So this is what I take and if anyone has any suggestions and treatments that you are receiving and let me know what you are on that would be awesome.
ve tried almost all of them. Gabapentin is my favorite. Clonidine, Trazadone and benzos helped me sleep. Then there's Imodium and the Thomas Recipie. Those items will get you through without too much discomfort, but .....
What's you're plan to fight this long term? If you aren't determined-enough, it's all for naught.
in a coma and a week after coming home I was found having a seziure with 104 fever, pneumonia. Since I have been home I have weaned off Oxycodone, Gabapentin, and all other meds for pain except the 60mg Kadian. I have had nausea and vomiting every day since I have been home. We split the Kadian to 30/30mg and I am still sick. I am hoping it is the Kadian that is making me sick. Even though I have taken it for a long time with no side effects I can't think what else it could be.
After seeing a psychiatrist at the advice of my primary care physician to see if this course of action was appropriate for me I was put on oxycodone, 30 mg. a day in 5 mg. doses. This seems to work fine but like all opiates my doctor says I will always want more.
My question is this, if I have to choose between either being crazy and not sleeping, drinking heavily, or taking oxycodone, which is the best way for me to go. Here is a list of the things I've tried.
I do take two naproxen 220 mg along with one one 10 mg oxycodone IR tablet and two 300 mg gabapentin capsules in the the AM when I wake up. Oxycodone is a little bit stronger than Vicodin. But I agree with the first poster that you need to contact your pharmacist to make sure the combo is OK for you to take as everyone is different and you may have underlying medical conditions that would make it an unsafe. choice for you.
I take 120 mg of Cymbalta, 3200 mg of gabapentin and 90 mg of oxycodone a day. it is not enough, what can I take over the counter that could help in addition.
I have heard gabapentin helps as well. I get it so bad now that even get restless arms O.o It blows hard core, but it will all be over before you know it, and you are handling it right by finding alternative means to sooth the RLS and not opiates. Great share ty.

Lyrica is 'pregabalin', a different chemical from Neurontin, or 'gabapentin'. They are similar in function though; they both bind -to and inhibit the same neuronal structure-- a voltage-gated calcium channel. Both medications reduce the flow of calcium into certain nerve terminals; the calcium would normally trigger the release of the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate, or Substance P, a chemical involved in pain transmission.
