neurontin

Avatar f tn Hi. I have a severe anxiety disorder...I take 1 mg of Klonopin/clonazepam 3x's a day for it, as prescribed by my Dr. I have lost the rest of my bottle of pills and can not get a refill until the 6th. (It's 3am on the 30th.) I have 5 mg tablets of Valium that are still in date but have never used. (Prescribed for a different issue quite a while back by a different Dr.) I am wary of trying new medications because I am always sensitive to side affects.
Avatar f tn Mammo is Xanax is not long lasting klonopin is and I have take klonopin and now I take Gabapentin which helps to prevent the attacks. But talk to your doctor first and see which will be better for you.
Avatar f tn I take 100 mg zoloft 100mg gabapentin and .05 mg klonopin and I have tried many other meds for my depression and anxiety. but they don't help and i am sick of trying new ones. i have lost all hope that anything can help me. so how bad is it to just stop taking them?
Avatar f tn Gabapentin is used because of the way it deals with some forms of nerve pain. We have a neurotransmitter called GABA that is connected with nerve pain, seizures, and anxiety -- it's the substance targeted by benzos. Gabapentin, as you can tell by the name, is kind of akin to setting up a whole new GABA-like system in your brain and so some find it helps with anxiety as well as nerve pain. Buspar has failed most of its clinical trials but it's still around somehow.
Avatar f tn I finally told my doc I was sick of taking they are ruining my life. He gave me clonidine and gabapentin. Both have worked great so far.
7827044 tn?1399391443 I was having extreme anxiety and very bad withdrawals from quitting gabapentin cold turkey. I resumed taking gabapentin yesterday and now today find myself very depressed. I quit it cold turkey because I felt it was causing me depression and mood instability. It is messing with my moods terribly now resuming it. I am very down and feel so disconnected from myself. Do not want to live like this. I know I will never quit it cold turkey again but feel this is not the medicine for me still.
Avatar m tn I have been taking klonopin for over 7 years now. They put me on it after my son's drowning accident. They started me off at 1mg, up to 12 a day. I am now down to 3mg a day. I tried to go cold turkey and stop but it was a nightmare.
186166 tn?1385259382 reason i say that is because she is also an addict and finally convinced her dr to give her xanax...which turned into klonopin, which she has taken before at a much higher dose than she is on now. my question is...she is only taking .5 mg, twice a day, but she is basically tore up from the floor up. her speech is slurred and her movements are very robotic and slow. there is a child involved here...almost 3...and i'm worried sick about her safety.
Avatar f tn Gabapentin is a good drug for some things, and not for others. General side affects are things like headaches, stomach pain, dizziness, dry mouth, sleepiness---the normal things that can happen when you go on any drug. Most of the time, gabapentin doesn't have extreme ill affects on anyone unless you skip a dose. I do know of people who say the drug can be addicted in high doses. Considering that you're just starting the medication, I wouldn't guess you'll be on a high dose.
Avatar m tn I have never taken gabapentin. What is it that you don't like about it? There are other medications for sleep that you could try. I take klonopin for sleep but that is habit forming and I'm certain after all these years I'm hooked on it so I'm not advocating this drug in particular but just saying there may be other medications for sleep that may work better for you.
Avatar f tn Discussed with psych, she feels the only medication that would be an issue is the Klonopin! We have decided to stay with the Klonopin due to the benefits and the fact that the REM was not present prior to taking the klonopin, and start reducing my other medications. (My mood has been stable with addition of CPAP) Here is the kicker. All of my apneas were Obstructive for the first 5 studies. This final study, I had 2 apneas and they were both CENTRAL. Here are my symptoms and current meds.
Avatar f tn I have been on 4mg of Klonopin for about 8 years. I took a 2mg in the A.M. and another 2mg in the afternoon. This is torture. I've been tapering down for three months and at first I was completely manic. I didn't realize at the time that I was manic because I was tapering down. The withdrawl is not getting better. I had no Klonopin left and I was going insane. Physically I am barely able to sleep and my nerves feel like they are zapping? I am so Irritable!!!
Avatar m tn I was taking 6mg a day of xanax then i just recently switched to 4mg. a day of Klonopin. But she said in Europe the FDA approved Lyrica for anxiety treatment. Its supposedly non addictive. However reviews i have read, users complain of weight gain and increased appetite which my weight is one of my anxieties. Has anyone else tried Lyrica before for anxiety? Its used here is in the US for fibromyalgia, but I took 2 and didn't feel anything so I'm not taking them.
8798274 tn?1399988458 I have tried many meds to help me to sleep (trazodone, klonopin, Geodon..) nothing help. Now I am sleeping 2-3 hours a night with the help of gabapentin, but I do not feel tired, I DO NOT GET SLEEPY. Please help, I have been in this situation for almost a year. Can the damage done by the drug be permanent? Should I see a neurologist?
329994 tn?1301663248 I take Savella and Gabapentin. I am wondering if you would have any suggestions for me or know of any meds that cause this condition. I also take Verapmil, Lasix, Klonopin, Synthroid, Potassium. Thank you for any possible suggestions or help.
Avatar m tn Trilipix is 184USD, Crestor is 189USD, and even generic gabapentin is 154USD. Lexapro is about 140UDS. Generic Klonopin is about 10USD. Remeron is about the same. And Inderal is 4USD. This is all per month, and I need every one of them. How can I keep affording this when my parents are gone?!?!
Avatar f tn m prescribed effexor, gabapentin, klonapin, adderall, and naltrexone. I do drink, though the naltrexone has helped. If I over-indulge, I can get kind of crazy. So I have to stop that. I am not bi-polar, although that seems to be what the doctor thinks since he keeps upping my dose of gabapentin. He recently told me to stop taking the adderall entirely which seem a little risky since I was on 50mg's and just recently was dropped to 30.
7827044 tn?1399391443 Last night my BP was 154/84 and pulse was 92 with the severe dizziness and jello legs. I took all my meds I take for anxiety, klonopin, gabapentin and vistaril and just laid there and tried to stay calm. I was shaking all over, like the freezing chills but wasn't cold. It took about 2 hrs for the attack to go away and my vitals to return to normal. It was very scary. This is the 3rd time I have had an attack that severe.
1221258 tn?1267542429 In fact in some situations it can be the opposite as some psychiatrists that other people have seen that I know will not prescribe benzodiazepenes (of which Klonopin is one) at all. Dosages tend to vary with the only concern that is general by doctors or psychiatrists is if a person builds up a tolerance to it. Regardless of dosage its best any specific decisions be made by a psychiatrist who has more specific clinical knowledge than a GP.
293157 tn?1285873439 Hi everyone, I was wondering how many friends here take either Gabapentin or Lyrica...I'm just wondering if it's a common drug to use... and if alot of people use these meds for tingling, leg pains, etc. How many have used either of these and stopped them because they didn't help or because of the side effects? How many use either of them and which one do they prefer? I'm in the middle of this... and need some advise on it.. thanks for any replies...
Avatar f tn Hey I've been off klonopin for 7 months, was taking anywhere from 6 to 30 mg a day for 8 years(many drugs were involved but klonopin was the harshest). Now that I'm clean for the 7 months I'm about to start working. I'm just curious, what are ways to manage the cravings. Any chance I get I steal my family members gabapentin, I barely even get anything from it, but it satisfies the craving. I need a more sober approach to deal with the cravings.
Avatar f tn ) I too take Baclofen, klonopin, gabapentin. But I have both Autonomoc Dysfunction (NCS) and Multiple Sclerosis. I know that the Ativan can help the CNS System in that help you to relax (B/P goes down). Just a thought.....Have you been to see a Neurologist?? For the wlaking problems and the Tremors??? Anti-anxiety medications, such as Xanax, Ativan, and Klonopin, can be used to combat imbalances of adrenaline usually seen with POTS patients.
1474625 tn?1371097079 Today I visited a new doctor for my pain I've been having from a herniated disc between my L5/S1. I just had surgery last month but my pre-surgery pain came back. I'm now taking hydrocodone (norco) 10mg along with gabapentin. I've never had any experience with this new drug and I have read a wide range of reviews for nerve pain.
1134609 tn?1269272200 Before I was placed on the Lamictal and increased doses of Neurontin, I was just on Klonopin and Celexa and I was still cycling. The Klonopin calmed me down, but it made the depressive episodes much worse. So, I have very hesitant to drop the Neurontin; when it works for me, it works very well and it's a much milder medication than the benzos and many of the other mood stabilizers out there.
