t know if the Gabapentin is making it worse. Can anyone recommend anything for this rash to go away? A nurse told me about hypobaric oxygen therapy if the sores become worse/open & to check a wound care facility.

Hi everyone, I'm taking Gabapentin and up to 1800mg a day...I was taking 2100mg a day, but felt too tired so I lowered it to 1800mg .. I've had this rash on my neck for the past week or so.. it's spreading down my chest area and hands...parts of my face. It looks like Hives...but I'm not sure if it is. My GP is away for another week and can't see him... could you get hives from gabapentin...it's the only med that is a new med for me...

So I was on gabapentin for 2 and a half years. I have fibromyalgia and chronic pain from scoliosis. I'm already prescribed tramadol. When they put me on it, it helped me a lot. But I started getting a rash. But I had no clue it was from my drug. Looking back it's the ONLY thing it could be from. I've got spots all over the back of my arms and legs. Some are scars from the ones that where healing. But they wouldn't close!

yes you certainly can. I have been on gabapentin 1800mg (for neuropathic pain) for 5 years now and Lamictal 150mg (lowered from 300mg originally)..for abt 18 months this I take for mood stabilizing. I have noticed no side effects from either drug alone or combined, except possibly some short term memory problems that may or maynot be related to the lamictal.

Hello, I am new to this group. I have had more than 85 blood tests since I was diagnosed with Lyme in July of 2014. All have been negative. I have been on may drugs for pain and currently on Gabapentin for vocal cord/coughing issues and leg pain (knee, calf, left side back). I don't think it is helping much. maybe some other people who have had the rash can offer you some suggestions. I am on week 12, and just now a rash, myself, that looks like hives, and it's on my torso. I am sure the hot weather triggered it. Try to stay out of the sun, and stay cool, and take cool showers.

I'm on Gabapentin also (for depression... Gab's a generic Neurontin) in combo with Paxil. I never noticed itching increase when she added Gab, but was kind of 'out of it' and bipolar like at the time. I asked about the itching and the doc said it was from the treatment (Pegasys/Ribavirin) drying out my skin so much. Got some relief by using lotion (Aveno baby - no added colors or perfumes).

For the first few days my pain, tingling, numbless and burning went away. They are now back and more severe than prior to the Solumedrol regime. Is this normal? I actually believe I was on the verge of a flare up prior to starting the Solumedrol and believe I am now in a full blown flare up. Hi, Tammy, I'm no stranger to TN, and it's rearing it's ugly head again, lately. I take a combination of Gabapentin, and Trileptal (a kin to Tegritol). Trileptal makes me dizzy, but if I ramp up very slowly, it becomes tolerable. So, I start with 300 mg each of G and T at bedtime, for three days. Then, I add the same doses in the morning, so that my morning and evening doses are 12 hours apart. I do this for three days, and then add a noon dose if necessary.

I began taking Gabapentin for the electricity and muscle spasms in my legs. My initial dose was 100 mg at bedtime. Now, I am up to 100 mg 3 times daily. It has helped greatly, but recently I have been having some break-through spasms. I do not recall having had any "vibrations" from the medication itself.

I have taken gabapentin and xanax for 10+ years without problems. Xanax is a shorter acting benzodiazapine then librium. You may find you need less librium with gabapentin.

I've been having this itchy sensation on my head and neck that is just getting worse!
