Gabapentin and prozac

Common Questions and Answers about Gabapentin and prozac

neurontin

Saw a doctor at Stanford yesterday fir a second opinion. I had been tested by another specialist I had rapid gastric emptying and was put on prozac and low dose Clonidine. can't say I noticed much of a difference in lower abdominal pain, bloating, stomach pain and nausea. This specialist didn't feel the emptying was that bad and wants to treat me for IBS with this drug plus Activia and Lactulose (prebiotic) but it says laxative and I am not really constipated.
Just do a google search on antidepressants and rapid cycling. I was ultra rapid cycling taking an antipsychotic, lamotrigine, and wellbutrin. I only started getting better when I did the research on antidepressants and insisted that I no longer take them. Very odd medication choices. I've taken neurontin but it was for pain related issues not mood. Have you been unable to take standard medication like lamotrigine, lithium, or diprovalex?
He was a mechanic, and many other things in his career and has had a devistating attack to his brain by gabapentin. What I mean is he was a smart guy who was always on top of what ever was going on and now he acts like he has had a labotimy (sp?). I found him petting the coffee pot like it was a dog, saying how well it worked and how it was a mystery to him. Is that normal? I did not have these issues when I took it, I just always felt like it wasn't doing anything for me.
My symptons are still there, and I don't know if the gabapentin is helping them or not, and I have been on it for sometime now. Like I said before, my Dr's aren't very with it, and I have to be my own advocate. So, I was just questioning if that seemed like alot ......as we all know, some days and good and some are not.
hi,I am on prozac 25mg daily, omeprazole 1 pill at lunchtime and gabapentin 300 mg at bedtime, xanax when needed for anxiety & panic .my question I also had took gabapentin 150 mg during day and found myself getting mad alot ,so I decided to stop it during the day and then wean myself off the 300mg at night, THAt was a big mistake, now MY anxiety & panic is 100% again I need help .
I'll go and have a look at Wellbutin, I've not come across that so far. I've also found prozac, Paroxitine (another anti-depressant), gabapentin (anti-convulsant & nerve pain, seems to have a lot of side-effects and ? can have upto surgery), Clopadine (anti-hypertensive, already have lowish BP and ? okay before surgery)I'm edging towards prozac at the minute, I've had it before without problems.
This new office seems to listen - the nurse spent a half hour on the phone with me yesterday and then called me back about the files. I asked them to look into acquired LQTS due to the triptans and now the prozac and benadryl. The current doc dismissed this without explaining to me her reasoning. I keep thinking the original dr missed it, this one just rubber stamped his findings, and the ped just trusts the two of them. I feel like screaming!
so tell me what would he do to help me now..back then hen put me on prozac and no benzo and sent me on to the next level of the pshy ward..i was impressed//haha i spent two weeks there and came out on ativan and cymbalta and risperdal.I have never been the same since..He really seemed like quack...
I'm now 27 and have had OCD since childhood and have been taken prozac (50 mg) since last spring. I'm doing well and feel that I'm getting my anxiety and depression under control. My question is this...In mid-August I I woke up in the middle of the night with sharp pins and needles in the right arm, mild numbness in this arm, and numbness around my mouth.
prozac. plus i have a bottle of xanax around for the occasional "moment"....i seem to be doing all right except the prozac makes me want to eat a lot. i take it at night and even if i'm not hungry all day....well, there it is...what can I eat now?
I started going to meetings daily , and got support from other addicts. I need to take prozac for my depression and I also have had success with KAVA KAVA.
Hi, How are you? False positive results may indeed occur with urine drug tests. There are many prescription and nonprescription substances that have been reported to cross-react with immunoassays and cause false-positives. However, all positive results are presumptive until confirmed using GC-MS standard. This is why it is important that an extensive medication history including prescription, nonprescription, and herbal medications be obtained from the patient. take care and regards.
I am now 35, 3 children and when i was diagnosed manic-depressive i was on prozac, wellbutrin and taking hi levels of prescription weight loss pills. I was losing my mind but i wasn't losing any weight! When my Psychatrist decided to try me on Topamax it was because of my anieity over my weight gain with the standard mood stabilizers. Within these past two years I have lost 38 pounds taking this medicine.
Hi, I havae taken a combo of effexor and paxil and gabapentin together for several years without any problems. Once they pooped out I switched to prozac and it is working good for now.
I am Bipolar/Personality Disorder and am on the following antidepressants: prozac, Trazadone, Effexor, gabapentin. I've rotated all bi/tricyclic meds and they no longer work. My problem is depression--I need to get manic. I'm a 100% disabled veteran, and get free medical care from the Phila VA Medical Center. The VA won't let my doctor prescribe Cymbalta, only the neurologists can. I'm scared--the prozac is failing--what can we do now?
But I had also been shoving gabapentin and prozac in my mouth ALL day everyday....BAD DEAL....stupid...of course, but in the drugged, scared mind set I had....I wasn't sure I could get off the hydrocodone and in my panic mode, I was overdosing on the proazac and gabapentin. (not taking as prescribed...imagine that? lol) So...all that to tell you....my vision was majorly affected and it gradually healed....over time. Each medication we are on can affect our vision....I know for sure.....
Well I notice the one common thing so far is that well all are not on DMD's and we all take gabapentin. Me? Im also taking amitryptaline (spell?) prozac and nuvigil. and occasionally percocet for pain.
Yesterday (Tuesday) my Psychiatrist basically informed me that the medicines I'm currently on, Klonopin and gabapentin, are essentially doing 'all they can do' for me. I've been suffering from some rather severe depression lately, with anxiety continuing to be the beast that never sleeps. I've basically tried every type of anti-depressant in the book with very adverse effects, but the very first one I ever tried was Lexapro and I couldn't remember how my body reacted to the medication.

Aropax can be better for anxiety than prozac. I think it is called paxil in the US. It should help and the tingling should go away if it is anxiety related. I've had a "buzzing" feeling in odd places and tingling, with anxiety Good luck.

They made me angry and depressed after the first bottle. I wouldn't get on it. They say IT'S REAL HARD to get off. Hang in there and keep posting.
