Avatar m tn Hi, The logical methode , I was there and done that, is lowering your blood sugar below 140mg/dl at ALL TIMES . This is just my untrained opinion.
Avatar f tn Remember, Type 2 diabetes is high blood sugar; hypoglycemia is the name for the disorder involving low blood sugar. A lot of natural supplements can lower blood sugar, and biotin might be one of them, but I'm just not sure.
Avatar n tn The best thing to do is control blood sugar and cholesterol and get optimize weight. My brother-in-law is struggling with these problems also, including nerve pain. For ED that goes along with diabetes, tablets like Viagra may work. Urologists that specialist in ED do have other options if the pills don't work. http://www.webmd.
9472198 tn?1556168148 Hello al! I have type II diabetes, which I see a doctor for. I no longer need meds for this, as I keep my diet in check & exercise daily. My blood sugar levels are within normal range now. My problem: I have a painful rash on my buttocks {butt crack actually LOL} for about 2 months & my doc sent me to a dermatologist. He recommended beta/clom ointment & I have used it every day after thorough cleansing....as well as alternating with triple antibiotic cream.
Avatar n tn But, this is all new and very scary. I got right in to my primary doc. and he gave me gabapentin generic for neurontin. And i take loratab for my back pain usually so it is helping but i'm consered that i am only treating the symtoms and the problem. I would love to know what is causing this. Should i get a second oppinion...? And if so where?
Avatar f tn I have never had blood sugar issues, but I have borderline high blood pressure with both of my pregnancies and it runs up there at times (mostly when my husband and kids drive me crazy). Lately though, my pressure has been in the normal range. I'm not sure if this is something that I should be concerned about or not. The only other med that I am on is Gabapentin, but only 300mg daily.
Avatar n tn I would just feel more tired and kind of cranky. Then I would take my blood sugar and it was 48! You need to know what being low feels like for you and if you are low (below 70 to some people, below 60 to others) you need to do something to immediately raise your blood sugar as hypoglycemia can be dangerous. You need to keep glucose tablets with you or drink some OJ or eat fruit. Testing also gives you an idea of what eating schedule you need to be on.
Avatar f tn Since upping my dose of Gabapentin to 1600mg daily for Neuropathy and Migraines I am retaining fluid and I have to push to pee. I am drinking lots and lots of water to counteract the swelling but wonder what the having to push to pee means.
2010625 tn?1329372056 Yes I have been eating, and have check my blood sugar several times actually and it has always been in the normal range. I think it may be the medication I am on, Gabapentin, I am having other weird side effects too. Like it makes me feel like a drunk person for half the day. I am going to call my doctor on monday about it.
Avatar m tn i been taking gabapentin afterwards lyrica as the doctor pre diagnosed me with diabetes, but the burning is still worst through out the day and night it never stop. i understand that my blood sugar is on dibetes diagnosis. but aside from this situation i got bitten by an insect in 2010 and got huge swelling on my upper forearm and has pulled out a dead muscle from the holes .
Avatar f tn You have to go for reduction of your blood pressure/blood sugar/cholesterol whatever is the cause of stroke and then do physiotherapy. With lot of commitment and dedication from your end you will gain strength. Do not lose hope and get well soon bouncing!
1831849 tn?1383228392 The nurse who called in the Rx mentioned that it would take a while for the Gabapentin to get up to the required levels in my blood. I have seen about a 60% improvement in my foot pain. How long does it take for the levels to reach maximum efficacy? If 6 days is sufficient I think I'll ask about upping the dose.
734343 tn?1239601741 Then like clockwork, I start to get a migraine. For a long time I thought that I had low blood sugar that would trigger the migraine, but now it seems more like an early symptom of the migraine, not the other way around. It's so weird, and fattening too!

7631083 tn?1394352887 For the past week or so there has been a couple of times where I feel very weak and my hands start to shake. I know it means my blood sugar is low so I will try to hurry up and eat something. Its sometimes when I first wake up and there are times when its in the middle to late at night. I'm 36 weeks and 4 days. I should probably tell my doctor when I go in on Friday or should I be more worried about it and do something now?
Avatar n tn i have 121 sugar fasting how i controlled and avoid this problem please i am depression from last long time and always in tension
Avatar n tn Hello, Definitely your blood sugar levels are raised. First of you need to start exercising and do brisk wals for atleast 45 min per day. A diet that includes fruits, vegetables, fiber-containing foods, and low-fat milk is advised. Consumption of foods with a low glucose levels appears to reduce postprandial glucose rise and improve glycemic control. Reduced calorie and nonnutritive sweeteners are useful.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
1448460 tn?1284694467 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.
1058898 tn?1275675151 told me to watch my blood sugar because im having symptoms of hypo. I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137.
Avatar n tn You cannot buy insulin over the counter without a prescription, nor can you buy syringes needed to inject insulin without a prescription. So you first need to go see your doctor. I would do blood tests before each meal and at bedtime each day until your doctor's appointment and write down the numbers that you get on your glucometer.
