Gabapentin and aleve

Common Questions and Answers about Gabapentin and aleve

neurontin

I had left side pain and muscle spasms so bad that I basically didn't sleep for a year. She prescribed flexeril and Naproxen (prescription strength Aleve). She might as well have given me tic-tacs. I got a little relief but not really. She finally tried me on Baclofen, but I couldn't handle it. I am not on flexeril and neurontin and it has mad a difference.
bc gabapentin is for fibro and if i dont have that then wats the point and its the kind of drug you have to build up in ur system and build down you cant just quit cold turkey........
I also suffer from radiculopathy and I take opioid pain medication, a couple of muscle relaxers, Gabapentin, anti-inflammatories, and an anti-depressant along with epidural steroid injections. I have radiating pain down my legs due to a similar injury...the biggest difference is it is located in the lumbar spine versus the cervical spine. The radiculopathy tends to be worse the more inflammation is present at the site of injury in your neck.
Anticonvulsant and antidepressant drugs are also useful and you can get gabapentin prescribed. Hope that this information helps and hope that you will get better soon. Wishing you good health.
Spinal stenosis can cause a lot of nerve pain (burning throughout the low back into the hips, pulsating throb and achiness in the low back and hips, shooting pain and pins and needles sensation that runs through the buttocks and hips and down one or both legs). Nerve pain is best treated with anti-convulsants and SNRI/SSRI anti-depressants. Neurontin (generic: Gabapentin) or Lyrica (generic: NA) and Cymbalta (generic: NA) are good medications to try to help with this pain.

Soon my legs will not support me at at. Unless a diagnosis is found as less and less activity causes more and more leg weakness and pain, soon I'll not be able to walk at all. Comprehensive blood tests all indicate hemoglobin, calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium and other related chemistry is normal.
Other times the numbness is in the thigh and buttock and is not accompanied by any pain. I have been on muscle relaxers and prescription Aleve but they do not provide consistent relief. Can some point me in the right direction for possible cause & treatment?
Hi i also have maddening itches, i get it on my baxk and arms, and at times i just want to rip my skin right off, cool showers do work quite well.
Ambien, Xanax (just once), Vitamins and Supplements, Protein Shakes and Vitamin Waters, Claritin and Sinus meds, lots of food, and my 100mg Lyrica pills. I’m convinced Lyrica (or Gabapentin) is a miracle worker. And....if you want the long story, be my guest: MONDAY – MARCH 18th | 2 DAYS TILL D-DAY Later this week I am going to attempt cold turkey from 4 Norcos/day. It took me about two months to get down to that low of a dose. I was at 15 pills/day before.
I take 600 mg in the morning, along with two OTC Aleve, and one Oxycodone and the sciatica pain is completely gone within an hour and doesn't come back until late afternoon. I admit, I am also on the Fentanyl patch but I have been taking Gabapentin well before I started the patch and I know it was very effective for my nerve pain prior to starting Fentanyl. Good luck to you. Surgery to be a last resort option.
I understand what you are saying about the effectiveness of the norco but I am curious as to what dosages you were on when you were taking the morphine and also the fentanyl and oxycontin. Additionally, the dosage of the gabapentin would been helpful information as well. From taking a look at the dosages, many of us can gauge whether or not your dosages were truly at therapeutic levels or if they were simply in the starter dose range.
Ya the aleve and the naproxen are the same thing they do work . I also have taken them under the name of vimovo which is the aleve (naproxen) and something for your stomach (nexium) I think they were even better. From what i can see the maxalt and the zomig are also very similar.
Two years ago, (I still have my tramadol prescription) I starting taking Aleve instead thinking it was better for my system. I gained 30 lbs! Turns out Aleve is not broken down and passed thru the liver and tramadol is. I am back on Tramadol and have the hyperness and dry mouth but hopefully it will get the weight off. By the way, I have fibromyalgia.
Has anyone here experienced internal vibrations in hips and legs and weird little buzzing spots in hand and feet? I can feel them but can't see them!!! MS Symptom?
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
One doctor told me I haveBack Pain with Sciatica, Hematuria and he went on im his notes I have MS and the MS is called Arthralgia and Muscle problem. Now another told me that Diagnostic were that he note Facet Arthrosis in the lower spine -L4-L5 and L5-SI and mild facet hypertrophy. But no significant disc bulge or protrusion is seen at any level. Disc space are well maintained. Now after my baby was born 2 month she came down with Baterial Meningitis after I stop breastfeeding expain that to me.
I also take Neurontin, and many other meds to treat the symptoms of SFN and my other ailments, including an anti-depressant, narcotic, muscle relaxer, beta-blocker, Aleve, and Alpha Lipoic Acid, if a doctor thinks it will help to relieve the symptoms.
take robaxin, stress arrest w/gaba and aleve daily to no avail
One doctor mentioned that she had a tremor of intention in her hand and arm. She has had a CT of her cervical spine, a MRI of her brain and neck as well as a EMG test. If you have any suggestions of different doctors we should see or if you think you know what it could be please let us know. Do you think this could be the result of neuological lyme. Thanks for all your help.
Nerve root compression at that level can cause triceps weakness and decreased reflex. It can also refer pain into shoulder blade area and cause pain in your wrist and forearm. When this happen to me, I had everything you have and I was getting a lot of shocking pain in my shoulder, arm and hand. It was horrible. My thumb and first 2 fingers went numb. If your doctor can keep you supplied with Vicoden and muscle relaxants till December, you could probably make it.
Welcome to Part 6! Please make yourself at home!
I awoke very tired and so much pain!!!! After breakfast, I went to watch TV and fell asleep around 8 am and awoke at 12:45 pm. So much pain and meds not helping. What to do. Guess I will try to see a PA. The other doctors tell me the want me off of ultram. Some other doctors want to take away the clonnazepam. They want be to go to a pain clinic. Those doctors want me to take the meds the first doctors want to take away. Then they say I go to doctors just to get drugs.
This along with the Gabapentin and Oxycodone and Fentanyl gets rid of the sciatica completely until later in the day it returns, which means more medicine. But I would at least try OTC Aleve. I also take one Aleve in the afternoon if I need it and also 1 at night to prevent sciatica in my sleep. I do also get epidural steroid injections about once every 3 months and I will take a four day burst pack of prednisone (an oral steroid) if I get into a flare inbetween injections.
Numerous showers or luke warm baths in between each remedy also does not work. The only relief he has found has been with Advil, Aleve, and/or Tylenol, and also the Benadryl advice we found in a previous blog on this site. We are keeping it dry and keeping him medicated to make it through this very rough patch. The pain is such that there are screams and cries that I have never heard before. My husband has experienced this a few times before and knows exactly what the feeling is like.
So I dug up some more info that I wanna share ... in case you are dying of curiousity. I have been cured and off all meds for two years but still suffering and do not know where to turn. I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue, Systemic Yeast Infection, crazy weight gain (50 lbs), gurd, muscle weakness and the list goes on and on! At my last liver docs appt they "apologized for destroying my life" and said that maybe I would recover in 6 or 7 years. They gave no suggestions for a speedier recovery saying my system was in chaos.
Had a mri and it said i had moderate bulge at my L1/L2 and have had months of therapy and also have had epideral injection. And I am still have a lot of pain. Which dont think that i should be I dont know what else there is to do wanna go to a surgen for a second opinon but dont know if i should or not.
My right side is bothering me worse than left with numbness and tingling down to toes. I am currently taking Neurontin, Aleve, flexaril, and sometime hydrocodone. This pain and numbness is driving me crazy and is chronic. I am only 29 years old and ready to have children. I'm concerned the chiropractor aggravated something worse. I hope tere is no reherniation. Any advice??
I have to take two Aleve, two 300 mg capsules of Gabapentin, and a 10 mg oxycodone (which is on top of the fentanyl patch that I wear) just to be able to walk and go about my day. Gabapentin and Lyrica are anti-convulsants that are used off-label to treat nerve pain and they are very effective for this type of pain...much more so than opioids. Cymbalta is a anti-depressant that has shown promise in reducing nerve pain as well. So these are some medications to discuss with your doctor.
