Gabapentin and adderall

Common Questions and Answers about Gabapentin and adderall

neurontin

He was a mechanic, and many other things in his career and has had a devistating attack to his brain by Gabapentin. What I mean is he was a smart guy who was always on top of what ever was going on and now he acts like he has had a labotimy (sp?). I found him petting the coffee pot like it was a dog, saying how well it worked and how it was a mystery to him. Is that normal? I did not have these issues when I took it, I just always felt like it wasn't doing anything for me.
I'm now down to 1800mg per day gabapentin, and 75mg amitriptyline. Pain still ebbs and flows on a daily basis; with a definite increase in discomfort and disturbing sensations in my left hand since coming down on the gabpentin. Prior to all of this I was considering giving Lyrica a try, in the hopes it might do a better job than the gabapentin, as it does for many here. I see my GP tomorrow to discuss this, and will let you know what I decide.
Basically, my left side (face, arm trunk, thigh and down the leg) is numb and needle(ish). I cannot feel heat or pain immediately and have to watch the shower and wear shoes at all times. But I adjusted and learned to live with it. Unfortunately, it worsened every winter and I would enter spring with a bonus disability (swelling, rash, cold intolerance). My first neurologist (due to insurance, I have had 8) advised me to take up tennis in 1999, as I am left handed, to slow the progression.
I have been taking Vicodin ES 325/750 for pain (although I should be taking it every night), supposed to be taking Gabapentin, but it makes me too sleepy during the day, and Oxycodone 5mg for pain days. I can't stay awake during the day, so was just prescribed Provigil 200mg, which doesn't really work. I drink 5hr energy drinks, coffee, take No-Doz, and/or sometimes Adderall XR to just make it through a day because I am so tired.
I am a 32-year old male, married with 5 children (yes, they're all mine from the same marriage). I have a history of methamphetamine abuse during my later teens and a relapse about 5 years ago for about 6 months. Since then, I have tried to "control" my life problems by self medicating in various ways (beer, Vicodin, Adderall, benzos, etc.), keeping it all "legal" and (mostly) as prescribed to not be "abusing" anything.
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
This new neurologist is as baffled as all the other doctors I have seen. He has prescribed Gabapentin and it did not get rid of them completely but seemed to help a little. I am now waiting for the results of skin grafts that was taken in Nov 2007. Meanwhile the neurologist feels that they may just go away as quickly as they came and to just suck it up while you wait. Phew, not a good diagnosis as far as I'm concerned. Stay in touch.
Well I was recently prescribed gabapentin Since I've started taking it ive been so tired, I literally lay around all day long and twirl my hair. I can't break the habit. Idk if the gabapentin stops the adderall from working or what. But it has helped with my leg pain.
Due to your multiple health problems and medications, your concerns and questions must be directed to your doctors. Dr.
So I am suffering a great deal with this ongoing persistent ailment every day and i have been taking amphetamines(adderall) to curb the sensations and have taken pain killers in the past. Both have worked, but once a tolerance is built up, I am left with these excrusiatingly agitating syptoms. I Need ANSWERS. Has anyone experienced this..and if so what meds have helped or what kind of doctor have you seen?
I'm prescribed effexor, gabapentin, klonapin, adderall, and naltrexone. I do drink, though the naltrexone has helped. If I over-indulge, I can get kind of crazy. So I have to stop that. I am not bi-polar, although that seems to be what the doctor thinks since he keeps upping my dose of gabapentin. He recently told me to stop taking the adderall entirely which seem a little risky since I was on 50mg's and just recently was dropped to 30.
Klonopin, 1 mg Adderoll a day, and 800 mg Gabapentin. Anyhow, I learned that my primary physician specialized in ADHD. She took over my ADHD/Adderoll case and prescribed 2 1/2 pill a day. Well last month I'd been to my physciatrist and let him know the primary care Dr. was taking over everything, since I could only afford ONE Dr.
However, I've had to wean off of that since I've had extreme dryness in mouth, nose and eyes. I've experimented, and Adderall is the culprit. Curses, foiled again. This is getting off topic, I know, but the problem of weight gain with MS never seems to have a solution. I hope others have good ideas.
I was done and without contacting my doctor or thinking about further repercussions I stopped the Xanax, Vicodin and Adderall, I could have lived through the Vicodin and Adderall withdrawals without problems if Xanax were not in the eqasion but Xanax made and is making it living hell. After 3 days w/o Xanax I was tremoring and dillusional, couldn't think clearly and on full day 3 had a seizure which was witnessed by my husband and daughter.
Gabapentin, Maxalt, Celexa, Adderall, and Verapil, none of which helped and I am currently not on any medications. The doctors that I have been going to see don't seem to care at all about all this. They just keep prescribing new random meds without any rationale just hoping that they are going to land on the right one. They also seem to want to blame it on anxiety but I'm anxious BECAUSE of my condition.
00. Should I be worried my baby is messed up by all these meds I am on? Because I am very worried. I have my first checkup next tuesday. I am so scared. I am currently being weaned off all meds. And so far I am just dying cause of my pain. My question is this. Has anyone else had chronic pain treated through out there pregnancy? Does these medicines cause problems with the baby? If my neuroligist wont treat me anymore until after i have the baby can anything help manage my pain?
I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
lamictal, trileptal, and gabapentin. In the past we tried Equetro, Wellbutrin, and other amphetamines, but all have brought on depression or anger management issues. Ask your doctor if you think you are stable enough for amphetamines. The risks may outweigh the benefits for you. With a child, it's hard to say- they're not very good at maintaining emotional stability to begin with! :) Best of luck!
My dr tried to tell me these results are normal. I'm not so sure. Morning and noon look pretty good. But evening seems a little low and night time is right on the border of being high. Any input? I do work at a very stressful job. Am looking for a new job but not sure how long that will take. :( AM Normal 3.7-9.5 Me 5.7 Noon Normal 1.2-3.0 Me 1.9 Evening Normal 0.6-1.9 Me 0.7 Night Normal 0.4-1.0 Me 1.0 DHEA-S Normal 2.0-23.0 Me 4.

For example- While drying dishes and thinking about the slippery roads I dreamt of being in my car and spinning around the road in a circle and actually seeing the telephone pole I nearly missed only to realize my car did not have tires- it actually have ice skates instead- I could see me in my car like a third party and the color of my car was bright as well. What causes us to dream while really being awake and functioning on some level?
Dame, nerve pain medicine like gabapentin does this and I find it so scarey. I'm so glad that I was unable to take that medicine when it was offered to me. I broke out in a rash and I'm allergic or over sensitive to that med. I've actually have taken some medications that make me confused. When I would talk, different words would come out and not the words that I was thinking of speaking. I know there has been medicine that has given me extreme short term memory loss too.

I just turned 32yrs old, and for the past 17yrs I've been taken around 300mgs of hydrocodone, as well as at least 200mgs of adderall on a everyday basis. And I want quit on my own can someone please give me some advice to make it bearable? Thank you for any feedback you can give..
I take Adderall, Lisinopril and birth control. I have stopped Hydrocodone and Xanax due to the inability to afford. The others are pretty much a need.

These are often prescribed for runners, sports injuries to joints, and those suffering from arthritis. Syva labs has recently reworked its Cannabinoid test and claims to have eliminated this problem. But a Science magazine article (July 8, 1988) lists Ibuprofen as cross reactive. Under the new government guidelines THC testing levels will be reduced to 50 nanograms. Many more THC false positives can be expected in 1994. Dristan Nasal Spray, Neosynephren, Vicks Nasal Spray, Sudafed, etc.
I am even on the legal limit of 60mg of Adderall and I can still fall asleep sometimes. Since my Neuro and I think I have advanced out of the Relapse Remitting stage to maybe secondary progressive she is very helpful and wanting to slow down the progression of my MS and RA and we are both hopeful that Rituxan will be "it".
I took that along with my pain meds and nerve damage med (gabapentin) Neurotin. When I started this whole "get clean" mission.....just FOR ME.....I am trying to see how I am with no Rx's in me........after all, I had been on an AD for 10 long yrs. I'm sure it will take my brain time to produce, heal and balance out my neurotransmitters as well as heal the gaba receptors that the nerve med affected. I truly am still having "weird" physical things happen to me......
People who live the longest sleep 7 hours per night, not eight, so don’t worry about getting 8 hours of sleep. Most people need between 6 and 8 hours of sleep to function effectively during the day. 2.Get out of bed within a half hour of the same time every day, including weekends, no matter how little or poorly you have slept. 3.Reduce your time in bed so that it more closely matches the amount of sleep you average each night. 4.Use the bedroom for sleep and sexual activity only. 5.
