Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it sounds like allergic fungal sinusitis and fungal infection of the lung(aspergillosis). You can get it confirmed by getting total Ig E levels, transillumination (passing light through the sinuses),Sinus X-rays or CAT scan of sinuses and fungal culture of nasal and sputum specimens. You can use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen.

The pattern of calcification is also an important factor that you should also bring up during your next doctor's appointment. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn It is very common for such scar/nodules to not disappear after an acute infection; to remain in the lung, unchanged in size, indefinitely. Stability of such a nodule over a two year period is considered strong evidence of its being benign. Yes, it would be safe to take Advair, for either bronchitis or asthma.
Avatar f tn Also since your doctor diagnosed thrush in throat, maybe you have thrush or fungal infection in lung. Your health condition is quite serious, and it would be best to discuss with your treating doctor, and since you are not getting much relief from your puffs, yes an immediate medical help. So if going to emergency is the option, then please exercise it. Keep your treating doctor informed. Take care!
Avatar m tn Mycocide (for under the nails of the big toes...infection site is small at this point...far less then 1/3 of the size of a dime...very front of toe nails, right & left, where they come in contact with the flesh of the toes)? I could kick myself for not realizing the significance of this problem sooner, yet I also have never had to deal with a fungal infection either (ergo my naivity). Well, needless to say I wish I did not have this at all or, at least, realized what it was sooner.
Avatar f tn If you had a diagnosis before of a fungal infection, you could try treating this again with the same kind of cream. https://www.healthline.com/health/mens-health/white-spots-on-foreskin#herpes What did you use last year when this happened? miconozole is common. Your doctor may call in a prescription without seeing you right now if you call the and say it's the same as last time if they used a prescribed ointment on it.
Avatar f tn Benign nodules are almost always healed over “wounds” on the lung left from tuberculosis or a fungal infection, although there are other, less common causes. REF:http://www.stronghealth.com/services/surgical/thoracic/pulmonarynodules.cfm In view of the fact that you are not a smoker you can wait till your next appointment in mid-July to get it assessed.

Avatar f tn The most common cause of lung granulomas is histoplasmosis, a fungal infection that primarily affects the lungs. The other causes could be due to infections like tuberculosis or sometimes due to occupational lung diseases. It could also be due to other conditions like sarcoidosis. Therapy is based on the cause. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Granulomas are not cancer. https://www.healthline.com/health/lung-granuloma Your bra should not interfere with the test. We wish you the best.
Avatar n tn Your doctors may only be treating a bacteria infection rather than fungal...it is quite possible you have yeast in your sinus and lungs..and even your intestines...I am currently taking Fluconazole 150mg for candida ...ask your physician about lung and sinus yeast infection and see what he says.

Avatar f tn Hi, One of the things to consider would be a viral infection that causes the boils. This tends to run a course of a couple of weeks and it tends to appear again and again. It also has an opportunistic nature, in that when you are sick from something else like a lung infection, the virus reappears. The virus is not related to any sanitary napkin but may is sexually acquired. Did the boils disappear completely with the medications? would you know what kind of medications you were taking?
Avatar n tn ” “Cystic fibrosis causes about half of all cases of bronchiectasis. Other causes include lung infection (tuberculosis, fungal infections, lung abscess, pneumonia), abnormal lung defense mechanisms (immunodeficiency, rheumatic disease), and localized airway obstruction (foreign body, tumor).” “The most typical symptom is a chronic cough that produces thick, white or green sputum (discharge). The sputum may be foul-smelling and abundant and may contain blood.
Avatar f tn Occasionally the description can be used to describe any opacity, and some of these may only be transient thickening or consolidation of the lung, and then upon repeat examination – the so-called mass apparently disappears. It would be best to have a discussion with the doctor who requested the X-ray. There are usually a few things in the doctor’s mind when the particular test was requested.
