Avatar m tn I didn't experience any more frequent urination when taking Zinc. If you are having frequent urination, but have not changed your diet, it would be worth seeing your doctor to check your urine for any possible urinary infections. Frequent urination can sometimes be because of an infection in the urinary tract. It can also be due to uncontrolled diabetes. A blood test would confirm whether or not you do have diabetes.

Avatar f tn Hello The symptoms you have mentioned are suggesting excess of Vitamin D or calcium. The cut off level for toxicity of vitamin D level in blood differs according to different studies. The US endocrine society says that it is >150 ng/ml while Institute of medicine say it is >50 ng/ml. In the presence of symptoms I consider this value of 94 as toxic level. I would suggest you to get serum calcium, phosphorus and urinary calcium done.

Avatar m tn Authored by a team of researchers at the California-based non-profit Autoimmunity Research Foundation, the paper goes on to point out that molecular biologists have long known that the form of vitamin D derived from food and supplements, 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-D), is a secosteroid rather than a vitamin. Like corticosteroid medications, vitamin D may provide short-term relief by lowering inflammation but may exacerbate disease symptoms over the long-term.

Avatar m tn More serious issues of vitamin D toxicity in the body leads to elevated levels of calcium that reside in the blood and soft tissues (like the lungs, heart and kidneys). At this point, bone pain or bone loss can occur. Sufferers will also exhibit urinary tract symptoms ranging from excessive production of urine to kidney stones or renal failure. High blood pressure and an increased risk of heart disease are concerns and ultimately can lead to irrevocable damage to major organs.

Avatar f tn Since doctors don't seem to want to help me figure out what's wrong, I'm trying to investigate my various symptoms to find potential diseases to rule out. For the past two and a half years, I've had a problem with frequent urination. No incontinence of any kind, but I tend to pee on average 12-20 times a day. Sometimes I'll be up one or two times at night, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I DO drink quite a bit of fluid.
Avatar f tn Five weeks and going on with this agnozing pain and no answers. Help! Also ive been taking d mannose, vitamin c, probiotics, and cranberry pills.

Avatar m tn normal, but you may want to try a cautious gradual increase of your D3, constantly monitoring your symptoms, to see if you experience any improvement at higher levels, but also watching out for any signs of D3 toxicity, such as G/I, digestive, nervousness, frequent urination and other related symptoms. You did not mention any investigation for underlying causes for D3 resistance, so assume there was none.
Avatar n tn You should also assume that you need Vitamin D, as most hypothyroid patients do, and start taking Vitamin D3 supplements. I would also suggest that in view of your burning/tingling feet, that you should also take some B12 daily, along with some magnesium. The magnesium that I take is magnesium glycinate, available at the Vitamin Shoppe and other places.
Avatar f tn Hyperparathyroidism is one of several endocrine disorders that could explain your symptoms. Also possible is a food allergy/sensitivity, perhaps from something that sneaks in as an ingredient in prepared foods you eat. To correct a few points in Bama_Lori's otherwise useful info, eggs are not a good source of calcium or vitamin D. And if you have reactive hypoglycemia, orange juice is not going to be useful.
535882 tn?1396576685 There is a greater liklihood of vitamin A toxicity in our part of the world than there is in vitamin D toxicity. The Vitamin D Council does point out some important information here about how much healthy adults should take when they recommend the 5,000 iu/day. Each person does metabolize vitamin D differently. This is why they recommend monitoring the level to see which dosage is right for you.
Avatar f tn Since I had tested low for Vitamin D a year ago, I began daily supplement ~ 1500mg total (D3) and ~ 30-45 min of direct sunlight a week, no sunscreen. Until that point my sunlight exposure had been much much lower (since my pain doesn't allow much recreation and due to pain med interactions). Since Vitamin D is fat soluable, web sites don't recommend too much, lest risk toxicity. I can't win. There is a lot of stuff on the web, but I don't know what stuff is believable.
Avatar f tn Have your Vitamin D checked. I also heard that tanning beds do not give you the Vitamin D so not sure about a sunlamp. Coral Calcium has Vitamin D3 so it's a good source as well as most fish, especially salmon. Vitamin D deficiencies can cause serious problems. Mine was just tested at 40 and it was 11.8, well below normal and it took months of arthritis pains, gout, paresthesias, four doctors, etc. for one doctor to say, "Haven't they ever tested your Vitamin D?
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old woman with the problem of frequent urination. I do not have diabetes or UTI and my ultrasound scan is normal. I underwent a D&C procedure in December of 2007.
