Avatar f tn Its possible that the anibiotics just didnt work for you, you may need a different kind or duration longer than 3 days. theres alot of wonderful info on ovarian cancer, in the ovarian cancer forum, perhaps if you read through it you may reassure yourself, I just had a BSO 6 weeks ago and had no urinary symptoms, If you truly want to ease you mind there is a simple blood test to check for ovarian cancer, I think its called CA125, Im to tired to look it up.
Avatar f tn Hi, Your symptoms may be suggestive of chronic ill health in the form of chronic fatigue syndrome, anaemia, deficiency of vitamins etc. Also for the pain in abdomen and frequent urination you should check out with a gynaecologist for an examination. If necessary and ultrasound scan may be done. Discuss with your Doctor. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I just have a question. I had a hysterectomy (just uterus) 10 years ago. At the time, my doc told me that I had a lot of endometriosis on my ovaries and he wanted to take them as well. But, since I did not sign the consent form he left them in and lasered off what he could. He told me that it would likely return in a few years. Fast forward to the other day at my annual exam. New doctor said she felt a large mass on my left ovary and has ordered a vaginal sonogram a week from now.
Avatar f tn I have some vague symptoms of low pelvic and abdo pain and flank pain (right sided only) more frequent urination and a feeling of ‘fullness’ in my low pelvic area. I’m an in menopause & I’m 55 I’m worried it could be ovca. I’m having an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound tomorrow and had a ca125 blood test today. If the ultrasounds are in conclusive what other tests should I ask for? Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.
Avatar n tn s no reason to suspect cancer at this point.. Actually , a lot of women with ovarian Cancer feel full even after eating a small amount, so your symptoms of still being hungry are contrary to that. Speak to your Dr. again, and if you don't feel satisfied with the answers you are given, go for a second opinion.
3234475 tn?1346719411 t know about paternal, I have been having frequent urination for about a year or more, off and on been getting worse lately, two weeks ago I got what I thought was a UTI never had one, pressure in my bladder all the time, two UTI blood tests neg for bac but with protien, trace blood. now doctor wants to send me for internal sono to look for ovarain cancer.
Avatar f tn Ovarain cancer is considered a very rare disease. Also, the doctor saying an internal sonogram for ovarian cancer, is just incorrect. A sonogram cannot detect ovarian cancer, no test can. There is no test to detect ovarian cancer other than an actual biopsy. A sonogram will show if there are cysts/masses/tumors on your ovaries...and if they do say tumors, it does not mean malignancy.
215164 tn?1269466240 Frequent urination, frequent night time urination, periods that are irregular anywhere from 12 to 40 days apart and they are mostly spotting with one day of menstration. I used to be 7 days of moderate to heavy menstration. Unbelievable pain after urination at times and lower back pain. I was told by my primary doctor that I have a 3.3cm (at the largest area) on my rt ovary. He said it did not appear to be cancer and sent me on my way.

Avatar f tn I have frequent urination and buring pain during urination sometimes, but I never had any symptoms of ovarian cyst. I have an appt. with Onco/Gyn on 18th aug, he will decide my fate.
Avatar m tn When they went in took a biopsy just to make sure it was actually bladder cancer and the lung cancer had not spread it was truly bladder cancer. Which to them was very good because they considered it contained. They never go into the body they go up the body. But just to answer your question he would have never known, because his frequency in urination never changed if that is a symptom. He has a P.E.T. Scan every 6 months now because it's very fast growing.
Avatar n tn t mentioned any other symptoms except weight gain around the middle and frequent periods. The following are the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer. This is just to inform you about the disease. I'm not suggesting you have cancer: Ovarian Cancer Symptoms There are no obvious symptoms until the disease has advanced. Then the symptoms may include: Vague but persistent gastrointestinal complaints such as gas, nausea, indigestion. Frequency and/or urgency of urination.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have had, for a few months now, what I now realise are symptoms of ovarian cancer. I intend to see the doctor next week but in the meantime I thought I would ask for some clarification here... In regards to the bloated tummy - this being one of my main symptoms (others being unexplained weight gain, frequent or urgent urination, dull ache on left side of lower back, fatigue, constipation etc) - is it a constant bloatedness or does it come and go?
Avatar f tn Both benign and malignant cysts can cause similar symptoms. But, usually ovarian cancer grows large before it is found. You find more symptoms like frequent urination, pressure, pain and fullness. The burning pain sounds more like a rupture. You should be sure to get a transvaginal ultrasound to check your ovaries and determine if you have a cyst. I hope you feel better soon!
471707 tn?1207674576 During USG to check my urinary problem (frequent urge of urination) a cyst has been found (23Sept05) at my right ovary. That time my doctor (gyne) told me not to worry as it’s a normal phenomena and provide me a course of antibiotic for infection. And this problem is abated but not fully cured. Several days ago, according to my 2nd USG report following repots have been pictured though I don’t feel any noticeable pain rather than mild pain in between two periods.
Avatar f tn I've had all the symptoms of ovarian cancer. End of April I had blood in my urine followed my back pain, flank pain, frequent urination & pelvic pain. No UTI. I eventually became so distended that I could not eat. My period was ten days late. I felt my pelvic floor shift down and family heaviness down there. When my cycle did start it was extremely painful. My normal is always on time and no pain. I had an ultrasound done four days later and ovaries and kidneys are normal.
119341 tn?1232563757 The study compared the effectiveness and safety of the combination of thalidomide and topotecan, a chemotherapy often used for ovarian cancer, versus topotecan alone for treatment of recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer in patients who had received prior treatment. Epithelial ovarian cancer is a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissue that covers the ovary.
Avatar m tn I have had problems for about 6 years, my symptoms are, bloating, weight gain, missed periods for 2 years, now I get them but not regular, very very painful intercourse, pelvic pain all the time, it hurts for someone just to push on my stomach lightly, frequent urination, always feel like there is pressure in that area, constipation, back pain sometimes but not very often. I have a DR's appt. on 04/03/08, what kind of test do I ask to have done?
Avatar n tn If he also wants to dismiss the notion, ask him to prove to you that it is not ovarian cancer. We of course cannot tell you if you have cancer or not as we are not Drs, but we can advise you on finding a better Dr and that you need to do. Please do not put this off.
Avatar n tn Is it ok to just wait and see or does she need surgery right away to rule out ovarian or other cancer. I ad an ovarian tumor post hysterectomy that the TVU could not rule out cancer and I was operated on within the week. I am scared if they wait too long it could be a very bad outcome. Her doctor is in no rush. What should we do?
Avatar f tn Hi there, I would really appreciate any advice anyone might have to offer. Here is my story: I've had frequent urination for the past 18 months at the least. I didn't think much of it because I've always gone more often than most people I know (although there was a definite change), and also because I was incredibly unaware it could be related to serious health issues.
Avatar f tn My symptoms then were dull aches around my pelvic region, burning sensation in pelvis that radiates to upper thighs, frequent urination and somewhat bloating. Fast foward now six months later, i am experiencing pretty much the same exact symptoms. Except this time Ive experienced bad indigestion, which i know is a symtom of ovary cancer. (ive been diagnosed with acid reflux though so im not worried much about it). And now my periods a little different.
