Avatar n tn some pain in my left kidney which I have a small stone. Frequent urination and afterwards still feels like I need to go again.
Avatar f tn Passing a kidney stone is a mother bear. It is very normal to have frequent urination after passing a kidney stone. But this has been awhile now.
Avatar m tn t worry yourself to death about anything until you have this additional test done. Sounds to me like your kidney stone is just giving you the NORMAL symptoms for a stone being present and a 5 mm stone is not an ultra small stone.
Avatar n tn looked like it had been their a while, it was festured over. Urination was painful for a couple of weeks after removing the stone. I still have constant urge to urinate and go 3 to 5 times a night. I have stinging pains in my lower stomach, sharp sudden pains in left and right sides of my lower back area. The more active I am the pain is more prevelant and urination is more restricted. Sometimes when I'm urinating the flow suddenly stops and most of the time it will start again.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but urge of frequent urination can be due to increased intake of fluids or diabetes mellitus.Other possibilities are glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis(inflammation of the kidneys),urinary tract infection, hypercalcemia, hypokalemia(low potassium),hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, diuretic drugs and benign hyperplasia of the prostate(in elderly males).
Avatar m tn As you are finding traces of blood on the urine dips stick, still having back and pelvic pain with burning and frequent urination, it is highly likely that you are still passing small pieces of the stone. A stone can be as small as a grain of sand, but will still cause problems and the discomfort as it moves along the urinary tract and passes through your urethra when you urinate.
Avatar m tn How long ago did the pain go away yet the cramps remain? I am not a Dr., just a kidney stone sufferer like you .. but sometimes you get all cut up inside and the cramps go away but you are pretty sore inside for a few days afterwards after they pass thru and have done their litle exit dance ??? Cheryl (calcium oxalate stones .. currently they say I'm stone free!!!
Avatar n tn I have had half a dozen kidney stones in the last year or so. This definitely sounds like it could be a stone. The pain generally happens as the stone goes into the ureter and travels to the bladder. Once in the bladder, it doesn't usually hurt too much but may cause frequent urination, etc. If you don't have anymore pain, i would just strain your urine for awhile and wait to pass the stone. If you have more pain, you can go to the ER and have a scan done.
Avatar n tn I recently had outpatient surgery, following which I had frequent urination, burning, stinging when urinating and side and back pain on the right side. Went back to my doctor, and she diagnosed a UTI and put me on doxy and Cipro. Took them a few days, but the side and back pain persisted, on and off, in waves.
Avatar n tn it could be that the bladder is inflamed and causing the tummy to swell..or a stone thats causing the irritation will cause very frequent urination..he needs to have a pelvic MRI with contrast to see whats going on for a propper diagnosess..and that theres no interior bleeding from the stone..watch colors of stools ifd there black or throwing up a substance like coffy grounds get to ther er asap..a stone this big can cause major infection or bleeding..
Avatar m tn Have you had frequent urination or a sense that you need to go RIGHT NOW? I have had half a dozen kidney stones. I passed all but the last one. The last one was stuck in my ureter and I had it removed surgically. I wish I would have had the surgery sooner rather than waiting a couple weeks hoping it would pass. The fever is probably a result of the stone and the sooner you can get it out, the better.
Avatar n tn After months more of scans and wasted time I saw a kidney stone specialist who has said the stones are still in my kidney and that the pain I am still experiencing is not caused by them. I'm now at a loss as to what it can be as I was sure the two were related, especially with so many people confirming kidney stones do cause a lot of pain. After being told to go back to my GP by the stone specialist I am now not sure what to do.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm 20 years female. On 22 May I was diagnosed with a kidney stone and kidney infection after two months of urinary symptoms on and off. 22 May I started taking stone medicines and antibiotics for an infection I felt better for two weeks almost and the symptoms came back again I went back to the doctor at 31 May to check the stones again he told me only one left and the infection is still there.
Avatar f tn This summer I experienced extreme pain in my right flank along with back pain on the right side and frequent urination. Dr thought it was either kidney stones or a pulled back muscle. After a couple of weeks this pain subsided, however then I developed swelling in my left foot that was thought to be gout. After a couple weeks this too subsided. Since Christmas I have been experiencing back pain on the right side, frequent urination again and occasional lower right abdominal and pelvic pain.
Avatar n tn it did nothing at all and was very frustrated.. and i just kind of gave up.. but after months and months the frequent urination would still be there. so i tried a hospital this time and the dr. checked my prostate which he said looked normal and he told me to get another urinalysis and a ultra sound. now he said i do not need to follow up on my std since i took all the antibiotics so i just followed what he said. now im wondering what is really causing my frequent urination?
Avatar n tn Hey everyone, From last one and half month I am suffering from problem of frequent urination (a urination after very five minutes). I visited the clinic and performed urine tests several times. Every time doctor told me that your results are normal. He performed a blood test for prostate, it also came normal. I took a course of ciprofloxacin and then doxycycline. Nothing worked.
Avatar n tn The doctor initially thought he had a urinary tract infection but my son reported no pain in urination, no frequent urination, and the urinalysis did not confirm the diagnosis. The doctor sent him for a CT scan. The CT scan showed an inflamed kidney. The doctor now believes a kidney infection and has prescribed cipro and Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain. After 5 days, the pain (while not constant) has not diminished. He often has the chills and a fever that runs 2-3 degrees above normal.
Avatar m tn I'm a 30 year old male - and I recently had a one night stand that consisted of unprotected oral sex a well as somewhat brief unprotected vaginal sex (we started, then stopped and put on a condom). About 2 weeks later, I started having pains while urinating - not the itching and burning that most people describe, but a sharper pain, almost like there was a cut inside my urethra. it was higher up on my pelvis, but after 2-3 days, it's moved down towards the middle of my penis.
Avatar m tn Lots of fluids to promote frequent urination, the stone has to be mechanically expelled, though if it is sharp and has logged it self into the ureter wall, you will need the surgery. If i was in your place i'd try ultrasound anyway before surgery as you have nothing to loose.
Avatar m tn I have been having typical UTI symptoms. No pain but frequent and urgent urination. My culture came back negative but does show blood in my urine. So I am freaking out a bit. I am getting an ultrasound tomorrow but have to wait for a referral to see the urologist and and get results. Always think of the "C" word. Would appreciate any input.
Avatar n tn I was amazed that this was the first post I found when I did a search for Kidney stent. I am not sure of the exact name of the procedure I had, but it wasn't lithotripsy. I had a 5mm by 9mm kidney stone removed today at 2:30 p.m. My doctor, whom I trust completely, went in via my urethra and broke up the stone and then inserted a stent. I had an IV and was under general anesthesia. I walked out of the surgery center at 4:00 p.m.
Avatar f tn I was instructed to simply try holding in my urine, and tolerating a full bladder when I can, however I am worried I may damage the nerves for my bladder and ruin my ability to tell when I need to go urinate. Is it possible this is prostate related? Is it possible I did pass a kidney stone? If so, how long does recovery normally take? I have been really stressed and worried about my body, can anxiety be causing any of this?
