Avatar n tn I know that frequent urination is a sign of diabetes so I am concerned. Are there any other signs of diabetes I should look for? Any other possible explanations? I would love to put my mind at ease.
Avatar n tn The intense thirst and frequent urination ABSOLUTELY sound like juvenile diabetes, and the exhaustion is highly suspicious. I have never heard of scabs being a symptom. Have they checked her blood sugar level and done a urine test? Make sure they do!
10254617 tn?1408841041 Hi, I noticed that my 14yr old daughter was losing weight, taking too much water in a day, frequent urination and excessive appetite. I used my glucometer on her and found 445mg/dl FBS. I became alarmed and took her for a lab test. Her Hb1ac was found at 14%. She was put on insulin( Mixtard 30/70) 40IU at 24units in the morning and 12units at night. She has not achieved FBS below 10mmol/l up till now. Its always within an average of 15mmol/l, and its a week now.
Avatar f tn The constant, unquenchable thirst is a classic symptom of juvenile diabetes. The frequent urination also points to juvenile diabetes. I have never heard of body odor being a symptom. I've also never heard of cold being a symptom, but weakness, lethargy, and weight loss are all major symptoms - and the weight loss in particular could lead to feeling cold. As to behaving badly in daycare, irritability is among the major symptoms of juvenile diabetes.
Avatar n tn m not a physician, but the symptoms of untreated diabetes include thirst, frequent urination, and tiredness. Some children are diagnosed shortly after some other health problem like a virus, so I urge you to have her evaluated right away. Diabetes is certainly treatable ... and the sooner one gets an accurate diagnosis, the better. Please check in again, for you may get other replies ... and let us know what the official medical evaluation shows.
Avatar n tn He visits the dentist regularly, brushes and gargles and everything else under the sun, but the odor still comes and goes. He is very self concious about the frequent urination. It is not until recently that I started thinking that maybe the two are related and maybe a symptom of diabetes? I always thought juvenile diabetes came on quickly and not slowly ( as he has been suffering the symptoms for an extended period of time.) He is quite physically fit and an athlete.
Avatar n tn If you find out that your little one does have diabetes, please contact your local branch/chapter of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). JDRF was formed in the 1970s by parents of children with Type 1.
Avatar f tn It can be due to many reasons which can be physiological or disease-related, and include excessive intake of liquids, diuretic substances (including tea, caffeine, alcohol, certain drugs), anxiety, exposure to cold, diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus (central or nephrogenic), urinary tract infections or obstruction, etc to name a few more common ones.
Avatar n tn I am a 22 years old male from india. I am suffering from frequent (day time) urination (around 12 times in daytime only, don't wake up from sleep to urinate ) for the last 6 years. I generally have to urinate in small amounts,I feel that I am emptying my bladder everytime . My urine flow also is normal, I take little time to start urinating as the amount of urine is not much. there is no urinary leakage , i feel my pelvic floor muscles are strong enough.
Avatar n tn While excessive thirst IS one of the symptoms of diabetes, that alone is not cause for alarm. Other signs to watch for are frequent urination, dramatic weight loss, and sometimes the symptoms can mimic the stomach flu. If your daughter is especially active, the 5-8 bottles of liquid you mention may be what her body requires to stay hydrated in the summer's heat.

Avatar n tn Go see a doctor and get tested. Frequent urination is one sign of type 2 diabetes. It also could be a sign of a disease you do not feel until more severe such as bladder or urinary tract infection, an enlarged prostrate if male, vaginitis if female, or possibly a tumor. Also comes to mind is from drinking excessive amounts of fluids.
Avatar m tn I suffer from frequent urination between 2am and 6 in the morning. This happens every half hour, lots of urine, no burning, no pain.I have had blood tests, cystoscopy and an IVP done, all came back negative. I don;t drink a lot since i never get thirsty, a cup of tea in the morning and a glass of water for my blood pressure tablets. I'm not swollen but 2yrs ago i had a back op for a pinched nerve, could this be the cause? Please help!
1061755 tn?1269134471 extreme thirst, headache, frequent urination, nausea, fatigue and numbness in my fingers. (I do not have these symptoms all at the same time). So i am no convinced (from doing my research) that i have diabetes. Its not like i want to have it, no one does, i just really need to know whats wrong with me.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing frequent urination for 5 years now (I have to pee every 30mins or so). Its absolutely awful and sometimes I have a burning sensation after I pee. I've noticed though that when I'm ovulating and I have lots of discharge the frequency is slightly less. I've gone for several tests over the years; it's not uti, cysts or diabetes and I don't think it's an STD since I am a virgin.
Avatar n tn You have described the classic symptoms of ketoacidosis resulting from untreated diabetes: excessive thirst, frequent urination, lethargy, irritability. Weight loss is another symptom. I wouldn't bother "keeping a close eye" on a child with these symptoms...I'd take my child to the doctor's office ASAP.
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old woman with the problem of frequent urination. I do not have diabetes or UTI and my ultrasound scan is normal. I underwent a D&C procedure in December of 2007. My urologist thinks that I should see a psychiatrist. I have a bulky uterus. I was 200 lbs three years ago, now I am 125 lbs, (through diet and excercise). My gynec told me that I have over-exercised,(walking 14 km a day). I feel constant irritation and pressure in my bladder.
Avatar f tn I am 25 and recently, i started experiencing frequent urination. I had side pain for a day so i got urine test done and it came out normal. The doctor still prescribed me antibiotic (Enoxabid) for UTI but it did not improve my condition. Now i continue experiencing frequent urination. Every 1.5 to 2 hours, i feel the urge to urinate and since the last 2-3 days i am also experiencing slight burning in the vagina.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing frequent urination for the past 2 months. I do not experience any other symptoms. I do not have any burning or pain. I just feel the urge to urinate every 1-2 hours. The color of my urine is also normal. There has been no change in the amount of fluids i consume. My thyroid is normal and i am not diabetic. Also, my urinalysis and urine culture have come out normal. What could be causing this?

358018 tn?1200451427 Also, I have no family illnesses such as diabetes. I know frequent urination is a symptom of that too. I'm a 22 year old female if that helps.
Avatar n tn he can go through a gallon of fluid a day if we let him.. Someone I talked to mentioned this may be juvenile diabetes.. What is juvenile diabetes and what are other symptoms? We thought maybe he was dehydrated thats why he was drinking so much but we took away any juices and milk and he still drank as much.. The doctor hasn't been able to do any blood work on him because he freaks out every time we try to go and he has autism so we can't explain really to him whats happening..
Avatar n tn t do anything to get but up to normal can be diabetes, as is the frequent urinantion. The frequent urination comes from the body tryting tto digest the nbodies fat cell for energy since you are not using insulin to digest injested food, thus the weight loss. You may also notice excessive thirst and fatigue. These are symptoms of type one dibetes which doesn't have as much of a family history ar type two. Type two used to be called adult onset and type one juvenile.
