Avatar n tn I know that frequent urination is a sign of diabetes so I am concerned. Are there any other signs of diabetes I should look for? Any other possible explanations? I would love to put my mind at ease.
Avatar n tn The intense thirst and frequent urination ABSOLUTELY sound like juvenile diabetes, and the exhaustion is highly suspicious. I have never heard of scabs being a symptom. Have they checked her blood sugar level and done a urine test? Make sure they do!
10254617 tn?1408841041 Hi, I noticed that my 14yr old daughter was losing weight, taking too much water in a day, frequent urination and excessive appetite. I used my glucometer on her and found 445mg/dl FBS. I became alarmed and took her for a lab test. Her Hb1ac was found at 14%. She was put on insulin( Mixtard 30/70) 40IU at 24units in the morning and 12units at night. She has not achieved FBS below 10mmol/l up till now. Its always within an average of 15mmol/l, and its a week now.
Avatar f tn The constant, unquenchable thirst is a classic symptom of juvenile diabetes. The frequent urination also points to juvenile diabetes. I have never heard of body odor being a symptom. I've also never heard of cold being a symptom, but weakness, lethargy, and weight loss are all major symptoms - and the weight loss in particular could lead to feeling cold. As to behaving badly in daycare, irritability is among the major symptoms of juvenile diabetes.
Avatar n tn m not a physician, but the symptoms of untreated diabetes include thirst, frequent urination, and tiredness. Some children are diagnosed shortly after some other health problem like a virus, so I urge you to have her evaluated right away. Diabetes is certainly treatable ... and the sooner one gets an accurate diagnosis, the better. Please check in again, for you may get other replies ... and let us know what the official medical evaluation shows.
Avatar n tn He visits the dentist regularly, brushes and gargles and everything else under the sun, but the odor still comes and goes. He is very self concious about the frequent urination. It is not until recently that I started thinking that maybe the two are related and maybe a symptom of diabetes? I always thought juvenile diabetes came on quickly and not slowly ( as he has been suffering the symptoms for an extended period of time.) He is quite physically fit and an athlete.
Avatar f tn Since doctors don't seem to want to help me figure out what's wrong, I'm trying to investigate my various symptoms to find potential diseases to rule out. For the past two and a half years, I've had a problem with frequent urination. No incontinence of any kind, but I tend to pee on average 12-20 times a day. Sometimes I'll be up one or two times at night, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I DO drink quite a bit of fluid.
Avatar f tn About 3 days later I started noticing a increase in my need to urinate (because of this I started drinking more water, to be sure not to get dehydrated, which of course lead to more frequent urination ) I also started feeling a slight pain towards the tip of my penis... Not during urination but just throughout the day, I never noticed any discharge, swelling, or abdominal pain... And the frequency at which I urinate has gone back to more of a regular amount..
Avatar f tn I didn't really experience frequent urination during my first trimester...but am having it in my second trimester..am 15 weeks 5 days..anyone else with the same issue.could this be normal?
Avatar n tn If it is really a change for you, it is best to see your doctor as there are a variety of health reasons that cause frequent urination. I found that I was having frequent urination at night and had to limit liquid intake after a certain hour and that certain things cause me to have to go more such as iced tea. ?? Have no idea why but that seems to come straight back out. talk to your doctor if you are having this symptom.

Avatar m tn urinary tract infection, interstitial cystitis, intake of diuretics and other medications, radiation therapy or bladder dysfunction. It would really help if you consult with the urologist for further evaluation and management. Take care and keep us posted.

Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old woman with the problem of frequent urination. I do not have diabetes or UTI and my ultrasound scan is normal. I underwent a D&C procedure in December of 2007. My urologist thinks that I should see a psychiatrist. I have a bulky uterus. I was 200 lbs three years ago, now I am 125 lbs, (through diet and excercise). My gynec told me that I have over-exercised,(walking 14 km a day). I feel constant irritation and pressure in my bladder.
