Common Questions and Answers about Frequent urination in women std

frequent-urination

Avatar m tn The one STD which might be associated with urinary frequency is non-gonococcal urethritis, which is diagnosed by demonstration of increased numbers of white blood cells in a urine specimen collected at the beginning of urination or in a urethral swab from the penis. In both cases you should not have urinated for at least an hour before your specimen is collected. You could have this done at your local STD clinic for little if any cost.
Avatar f tn About 3 days later I started noticing a increase in my need to urinate (because of this I started drinking more water, to be sure not to get dehydrated, which of course lead to more frequent urination ) I also started feeling a slight pain towards the tip of my penis... Not during urination but just throughout the day, I never noticed any discharge, swelling, or abdominal pain... And the frequency at which I urinate has gone back to more of a regular amount..
Avatar m tn I saw a question about frequent urination and stress. I wanted to add this comment. I was having severe frequent urination problems. I went to several doctors and even the Mayo Clinic. I was eventually diagnosed with "chronic prostatitis." Not wanting to give up because of the problems it was causing me, I looked at stress as the possible cause. I went to a psychologist for biofeedback training -- relaxation training -- and after 3 or 4 weeks my symptoms subsided.
Avatar m tn 2 days really nothing. The frequent urination is not because of std just after 2 days.
Avatar n tn Symptoms do not come on the next day and frequent urination is usually not a stand alone symptom and frequent means like every 10-15 minutes. If worried wait 1 week from the encounter and get tested for gonorrhea, but overall I see no need to do so.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing frequent urination for 5 years now (I have to pee every 30mins or so). Its absolutely awful and sometimes I have a burning sensation after I pee. I've noticed though that when I'm ovulating and I have lots of discharge the frequency is slightly less. I've gone for several tests over the years; it's not uti, cysts or diabetes and I don't think it's an STD since I am a virgin.
Avatar f tn Urinary tract (which consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and the urethra) infections are very common in young women. Symptoms of UTI are frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, passing of blood in urine and even fever. The most common causes of repeated UTIs are kidney stones and diabetes mellitus. Women who are sexually active, who use diaphragms for birth control, and/or are past menopause are at an increased risk for urinary tract infections.
Avatar m tn urinary tract infection, interstitial cystitis, intake of diuretics and other medications, radiation therapy or bladder dysfunction. It would really help if you consult with the urologist for further evaluation and management. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn As I said avove, there was NO STD risk from the event describe -- none, zero, nada, zilch, nichevo. Got it? That means there is no information you can provide that will change my opinion or advice. Of course you cannot catch NGU through a condom, and NGU doesn't cause the symptoms you describe; it's clearly your "mind working overtime". Frequent urination may sometimes be an STD symptom in women, but rarely if ever in men.
Avatar n tn hi, i have been experiencing frequent urination and got tested for uti. they said they didnt find any bacteria so does that mean i do not have to get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea? i do not have discharge and i took all the antibiotics from cipro, oflox, and azythro. currently im taking oxybutynine hci for overactive bladder since i had a ultra sound and they found nothing. btw im 20 yrs old healthy male but all these symptoms appeared after my sexual encounter.. it should be a std right?
Avatar m tn 1) How common in women is trich. I have read on websites saying anywhere from 5-10% of women to 30-50% of women (which I thought was high) 2) What are the odds of a male contracting trich from one act of unprotected sex. 3) How often do men show symptoms of trich. 4) Could all of these symptoms really just be in my head from stress? Thank you for listening. Don't think bad of me, I already am pretty upset at myself about the whole thing.
Avatar m tn Frequent urination doesn't suggest STD of any kind. It is often a symptom of stress or anxiety, especially when the source of anxiety is concern about genital health. So I doubt you caught an STD, and I doubt anything is wrong except for anxiety. But if your symptoms persist, see your health care provider or your local STD clinic for examination and reassurance. You can expect that nothing abnormal will be found.
Avatar m tn Hello and thank you in advance for your help. Here's my situation: I'm a male heterosexual in my early 40's. 13 days ago I had sex with a 25 year old female friend, which consisted of giving and receiving oral sex, along with vaginal intercourse. I used a condom for intercourse with the exception of approximately one or at most two minutes when I did not (realized this was stupid and put another condom on).
Avatar m tn But a few hours later i started having frequent urination. No burning or discharge just frequent urination. The frequent urination has stopped but ive been squeezing my penis a few times a day to see if anything will come out and nothing comes out. There's no burning or discharge but now I just feel penis discomfort. Could the frequent urination that has now stopped and now penis discomfort be std related? Any advice would help! Very worried!
Avatar n tn there is nothing in your story that suggests an STD problem. Pain in both testicles, or pain without swelling or tenderness, usually isn't epididymitis or any STD; and epididymits pain doesn't come and go. Without tenderness or swelling, prostate problems are the most common causes of vague or diffuse testicular pain.
Avatar m tn Since this treatment, I have frequent urination about every other day, and my pee just drips after. Like a single clear drop on the tip of my penis. Maybe once every 2 wks there will be a slight clear sticky discharge, not a lot, after I ejaculate. 15 min or so later. Were my tests false negative. Could antibiotics or paranoia cause this? Please help!

Avatar f tn Hi often frequent urination could be related to diet change from stress and over worrying. Its not an std symptom without any white puss discharge or burning while urinating.
