Avatar n tn Good morning to you! Sorry to hear that your old girl is having a rough time! Have you discussed the potential of arthritis with your veterinarian? It's estimated that more than 20% of dogs in the US have arthritis. You might call your veterinarian and ask about safe and approved arthritis medications for dogs. A good exam should also be done, along with blood work and a urinalysis to help determine what is ailing her. When was her last physical?
Avatar m tn but what could be causing the frequent urination? I only take fish oil and multivitamins. Medical history that I have is cervical stenosis also have herniated discs in the back as well. I am a drinker but have been sober for the past month.
Avatar f tn I had the worst excessive urination from low potassium. I lived in the toilet and was getting splits on my skin down there from constantly using toilet paper. I was using Savlon cream to relieve the pain. The relief of orange juice! High in potassium. Went from excessive urination to normal OVERNIGHT! Low potassium causes dry skin too btw.
576985 tn?1217557186 This could be urinary tract infection (UTI) which usually presents with pain or burning sensation during urination, frequent urination, blood in the urine, and strong persistent urge to urinate. With high fever and flank or back pain usually points to kidney infection. Diagnosis is through urinalysis or urine culture. UTI can be treated with antibiotics prescribed by your doctor. Drinking plenty of fluids and urinating frequently may also help.

Avatar f tn My 18 year old son is having similiar problems. Started 3 months ago. Worse during the day (when sitting). His urinalysis (4 of them) comes back clear with no infection. He's had an ultra-sound that also came back fine. He's gone to two urologist (we didn't like the first one) and both called it Dysuria Frequent Urgency. The second doctor put him on an anti-biotic (sulfameth) just in case there was a slight infection not showing up in test.
Avatar n tn Any sudden change of your dogs diet can cause gas as does feeding of too many table scraps. Smelly gas is normal in dogs but if its frequent then something is wrong in his/her diet. I recommend a high protein, low fiber diet. The cheaper brands of dog food are made with alot of filler and less protein, that could also cause excess gas. Especially older dogs need a good quality dog food. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn Since doctors don't seem to want to help me figure out what's wrong, I'm trying to investigate my various symptoms to find potential diseases to rule out. For the past two and a half years, I've had a problem with frequent urination. No incontinence of any kind, but I tend to pee on average 12-20 times a day. Sometimes I'll be up one or two times at night, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I DO drink quite a bit of fluid.
Avatar n tn I know that frequent urination is a sign of diabetes so I am concerned. Are there any other signs of diabetes I should look for? Any other possible explanations? I would love to put my mind at ease.
Avatar m tn First, you need to have a Vet rule out any Urinary Tract Infection and/or Bladder/Kidney Stones causing the urination...If all medical issues are clear, then retraining is next....Most times older dogs have a fixable reason to suddenly start peeing in the house......
Avatar f tn Ok so 3 occasions in the past few weeks I have seen a large piece of what looks like white/clear shreds of paper tissue in the toilet. I am sure it is not toilet paper. I do currently have a UTI w/ frequent urination and pressure on the bladder. I'm not sure if the tissue is in urine or is from somewhere else. What could this be? I am very worried. 28yo female.
Avatar n tn t particularly interested in going out at 8 AM. That is he can hold it for a long time. Older dogs, like people, find the need to "pee" more often than when younger.
Avatar f tn s. My only symptoms at this time was frequent urination and penile discomfort (on/off), no discharge. I had to wait to see my urologist so in the mean time I took Cipro I had on hand that my urologist gave to me incase I had any flare ups. That helped immensely but by the 10th day I experienced some horrible side effects and stopped.

358018 tn?1200451427 I have been having very annoying bouts of frequent urination. I go to the bathroom alot during the day, but at night, it's every few minutes. It's so bad I only get about 3-4 hours of sleep every night. And, even after I go, I feel like I still have to go. At first I just had to go to the bathroom alot. I thought it would go away, but now, it CONSTANTLY feels like my bladder is full. Sometimes I try to go to the bathroom and nothing will come out.
Avatar f tn last november i had a check up with a blood panel done and a gynecologic exam and all was normal. about 3 or 4 times per year i get frequent urination but with absolutely no burning or pain. i will just have a constant need to urinate and sometimes a little comes out and sometimes a lot. anyhow, it always subsides on it's own. about a week ago i developed a swollen gland behind my ear and about a day later the frequent urination started.
Avatar f tn I have a lot of pets. I have 3 dogs, 2 cats , chinchilla, birds and fish. They all ended up here instead of the pound.expect the fish. I have a simple question about cats. I few years back I had a male cat. He was old and my daughter brought home a female kitten they loved each other. My male cat passed years ago. The female we still have. So a year ago my daughter brought home another female kitten. The two female cats don't like each other.
Avatar n tn Hello! I am having some problems with my dogs fighting--in particular, one of my older dogs beating up our puppy. Mister's 10/11 years old neutered male, while Peanut is a year and a half intact male who will stay that way. Patches (13+, menopause) and Whitney (4, spayed) are our female dogs. I'll preface with: no one's being given away and Peanut's been here for over a year. It's been happening for a while; Mister beats up on Peanut. Now, Mister is a sweet dog.
Avatar n tn Go see a doctor and get tested. Frequent urination is one sign of type 2 diabetes. It also could be a sign of a disease you do not feel until more severe such as bladder or urinary tract infection, an enlarged prostrate if male, vaginitis if female, or possibly a tumor. Also comes to mind is from drinking excessive amounts of fluids.
