frequent-urination

Avatar m tn I'm a 59 y/o female post menopause. Recently I've been having to urinate a lot during the night, at least 2-3 times. I talked to my primary care and he put me on some Detrol, which I tried for a few days and it did not help. Blood tests showed kidney function was fine..but what could be causing the frequent urination? I only take fish oil and multivitamins. Medical history that I have is cervical stenosis also have herniated discs in the back as well.

Avatar f tn I have never experienced incontinence and do not have a urinary tract infection. I went to a urologist a little while ago and they told me I was emptying my bladder all of the way but unfortunately that was the only test I really had done since I lost my health insurance. A few months later was diagnosed with a hypoactive thyroid and was put on synthroid but other than that I really have no other health issues.
Avatar n tn I know that frequent urination is a sign of diabetes so I am concerned. Are there any other signs of diabetes I should look for? Any other possible explanations? I would love to put my mind at ease.
Avatar f tn Ok so 3 occasions in the past few weeks I have seen a large piece of what looks like white/clear shreds of paper tissue in the toilet. I am sure it is not toilet paper. I do currently have a UTI w/ frequent urination and pressure on the bladder. I'm not sure if the tissue is in urine or is from somewhere else. What could this be? I am very worried. 28yo female.
358018 tn?1200451427 Also, I have no family illnesses such as diabetes. I know frequent urination is a symptom of that too. I'm a 22 year old female if that helps.
Avatar n tn Hey everyone, From last one and half month I am suffering from problem of frequent urination (a urination after very five minutes). I visited the clinic and performed urine tests several times. Every time doctor told me that your results are normal. He performed a blood test for prostate, it also came normal. I took a course of ciprofloxacin and then doxycycline. Nothing worked.
Avatar f tn i am a 35 yr old female. last november i had a check up with a blood panel done and a gynecologic exam and all was normal. about 3 or 4 times per year i get frequent urination but with absolutely no burning or pain. i will just have a constant need to urinate and sometimes a little comes out and sometimes a lot. anyhow, it always subsides on it's own. about a week ago i developed a swollen gland behind my ear and about a day later the frequent urination started.
Avatar n tn Go see a doctor and get tested. Frequent urination is one sign of type 2 diabetes. It also could be a sign of a disease you do not feel until more severe such as bladder or urinary tract infection, an enlarged prostrate if male, vaginitis if female, or possibly a tumor. Also comes to mind is from drinking excessive amounts of fluids.
Avatar f tn Since doctors don't seem to want to help me figure out what's wrong, I'm trying to investigate my various symptoms to find potential diseases to rule out. For the past two and a half years, I've had a problem with frequent urination. No incontinence of any kind, but I tend to pee on average 12-20 times a day. Sometimes I'll be up one or two times at night, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I DO drink quite a bit of fluid.
Avatar n tn Are you currently taking any medications? Some blood pressure medications can cause increased urination.
130737 tn?1214861465 s probably next) because of the hot flashes...Just curious...Do you have any of these symptoms as well (not necesarily all)...frequent urination, frequent headaches, kidney pain or stones, unexplained gut pain, constipation, gall stones, back or pelvic pain, sleep problems, (already listed hot flashes) female hormone disturbances, face puffiness or leg edema, and/or heartburn? If so, check out hypercalcemia (high blood calcium)...

Avatar m tn Check out Nigella sativa as a cancer preventative. Unlike chemo, it has miniscule side effects. It might speed up your bowel movements. It might cause a tiny odd body odor depending on how high the dose is. At high doses it could cause facial skin breakouts. It is supposed to e good for your hair and everything else, and prevent and treat cancer. Look it up.
576985 tn?1217557186 This could be urinary tract infection (UTI) which usually presents with pain or burning sensation during urination, frequent urination, blood in the urine, and strong persistent urge to urinate. With high fever and flank or back pain usually points to kidney infection. Diagnosis is through urinalysis or urine culture. UTI can be treated with antibiotics prescribed by your doctor. Drinking plenty of fluids and urinating frequently may also help.
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old woman with the problem of frequent urination. I do not have diabetes or UTI and my ultrasound scan is normal. I underwent a D&C procedure in December of 2007. My urologist thinks that I should see a psychiatrist. I have a bulky uterus. I was 200 lbs three years ago, now I am 125 lbs, (through diet and excercise). My gynec told me that I have over-exercised,(walking 14 km a day). I feel constant irritation and pressure in my bladder.
Avatar f tn About 3 days later I started noticing a increase in my need to urinate (because of this I started drinking more water, to be sure not to get dehydrated, which of course lead to more frequent urination ) I also started feeling a slight pain towards the tip of my penis... Not during urination but just throughout the day, I never noticed any discharge, swelling, or abdominal pain... And the frequency at which I urinate has gone back to more of a regular amount..
Avatar f tn Ask for a cystoscopy (where they put a camera in your urethra to see what's blocking it). I'm going in for one in a few weeks and hoping for answers.
Avatar f tn Also i drink a lot of water before going off to bed, may be that could be a reason but in general also i have a problem of frequent urination.
139792 tn?1498585650 I tale about a minute to start urination all the time when i go for urination. I am 80. Not diabetic.Bladder functioning OK. No enlargement of prostate. confirmed by sonography. Any suggestion?
Avatar n tn A cystoscopy can always be done to look for any local causes for the same. An infection in the prostate could be a culprit in the same. Hence, a rectal examination can also help in picking up the chronic prostatitis which can give rise to the symptoms which you’ve mentioned. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
