Since doctors don't seem to want to help me figure out what's wrong, I'm trying to investigate my various symptoms to find potential diseases to rule out.
For the past two and a half years, I've had a problem with frequent urination. No incontinence of any kind, but I tend to pee on average 12-20 times a day. Sometimes I'll be up one or two times at night, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I DO drink quite a bit of fluid.

Yes, with high blood sugar one does feel sleepy but that is quickly followed by the symptoms I describe above, at least for me. I have been diabetic for nearly 30 years now.
It can be due to many reasons which can be physiological or disease-related, and include excessive intake of liquids, diuretic substances (including tea, caffeine, alcohol, certain drugs), anxiety, exposure to cold, diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus (central or nephrogenic), urinary tract infections or obstruction, etc to name a few more common ones.
I am a 22 years old male from india. I am suffering from frequent (day time) urination (around 12 times in daytime only, don't wake up from sleep to urinate ) for the last 6 years. I generally have to urinate in small amounts,I feel that I am emptying my bladder everytime . My urine flow also is normal, I take little time to start urinating as the amount of urine is not much. there is no urinary leakage , i feel my pelvic floor muscles are strong enough.

Your symptoms may be suggestive of chronic ill health in the form of chronic fatigue syndrome, anaemia, deficiency of vitamins etc. Also for the pain in abdomen and frequent urination you should check out with a gynaecologist for an examination. If necessary and ultrasound scan may be done. Discuss with your Doctor.

- No. No i guess.. If im at home i do urinate 5 or 6 times a day but i've noticed my bladder fills up quickly at night. I dont usually wake up coz i hav to pee,but if i wake up,i hav a full bladder.
3)Thirst:- not exactly, but YES in the night. I find the area between my nose and mouth is dry severely.. Only at night but..
4)Finally this is what bothers me,sometimes black ants flock up to my urine. And thats only SOMETIMES..

Go see a doctor and get tested. Frequent urination is one sign of type 2 diabetes. It also could be a sign of a disease you do not feel until more severe such as bladder or urinary tract infection, an enlarged prostrate if male, vaginitis if female, or possibly a tumor. Also comes to mind is from drinking excessive amounts of fluids.
I suffer from frequent urination between 2am and 6 in the morning. This happens every half hour, lots of urine, no burning, no pain.I have had blood tests, cystoscopy and an IVP done, all came back negative. I don;t drink a lot since i never get thirsty, a cup of tea in the morning and a glass of water for my blood pressure tablets. I'm not swollen but 2yrs ago i had a back op for a pinched nerve, could this be the cause? Please help!

He visits the dentist regularly, brushes and gargles and everything else under the sun, but the odor still comes and goes. He is very self concious about the frequent urination. It is not until recently that I started thinking that maybe the two are related and maybe a symptom of diabetes? I have been experiencing frequent urination for 5 years now (I have to pee every 30mins or so). Its absolutely awful and sometimes I have a burning sensation after I pee. I am a 40 year old woman with the problem of frequent urination. I do not have diabetes or UTI and my ultrasound scan is normal. I underwent a D&C procedure in December of 2007. I would suggest if you recognize one or more of these symptoms to take her to the doctor and request a Fasting Plasma Glucose Test or an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test. Those tests will give you a real answer and you won't just worry if she does have diabetes.
