Avatar f tn As the previous poster stated, often keeping your blood glucose (BG) under control will help to alleviate diabetes symptoms such as increased thirst and frequent urination. If you are not checking your blood sugar at home, I would recommend making an appointment with your doctor to check your blood glucose and make sure that your medication is at the correct dose to manage your diabetes.
Avatar n tn I am a 22 years old male from india. I am suffering from frequent (day time) urination (around 12 times in daytime only, don't wake up from sleep to urinate ) for the last 6 years. I generally have to urinate in small amounts,I feel that I am emptying my bladder everytime . My urine flow also is normal, I take little time to start urinating as the amount of urine is not much. there is no urinary leakage , i feel my pelvic floor muscles are strong enough.
Avatar n tn The intense thirst and frequent urination ABSOLUTELY sound like juvenile diabetes, and the exhaustion is highly suspicious. I have never heard of scabs being a symptom. Have they checked her blood sugar level and done a urine test? Make sure they do!
Avatar n tn t send you home with an Rx for a bunch of pills w/o explaining the causes/reasons for your unintended weight gain, fatigue, excess thirst and frequent urination. Unintended weight gain has various medical causes which includes thyroid disorders. Even though fatigue, excess thirst and frequent urination are usually associated with diabetes they also are symptoms of liver and kidney disease. Ask for a complete health examination - head to toe.
1090423 tn?1286287650 Your symptoms do not particularly sound like diabetes (common symptoms are frequent urination, increased thirst and weight loss). See your doctor if your problems continue.

Avatar n tn I know that frequent urination is a sign of diabetes so I am concerned. Are there any other signs of diabetes I should look for? Any other possible explanations? I would love to put my mind at ease.
Avatar f tn No , your symptoms don't seem like the classical diabetes symptoms of extreme thirst, frequent urination. Yes, with high blood sugar one does feel sleepy but that is quickly followed by the symptoms I describe above, at least for me. I have been diabetic for nearly 30 years now.
Avatar n tn He has been suffering for about 8 months, with frequent headaches, constant thirst and nose bleeds. At least three to four days out of the week. His peditrician checked him for diabetes about six months ago. As a parent, I am very concerned it is possibly something more and the condition is being overlooked. What could all of this mean?
4274823 tn?1388529098 For instance, drinking too much water can actually cause dry mouth/extreme thirst (as noted in the article), which will, in turn, cause us to drink more, causing more frequent urination... BUT extreme thirst (and in turn, frequent urination) is a prime symptom of dangerously high blood sugar levels, which can cause coma and death, if not treated immediately. One should NEVER make the assumption that extreme thirst is either over or dehydration, since it may likely be neither.
Avatar m tn I have never known zinc to do anything like that. Zinc is a mineral that helps the skin and nerves get healthy. Check your diet - if you are eating too much sugar or carbs you might have frequent urination caused by hypoglycemia or pre-diabetes. Maybe you didn't pee often enough before and the zinc is healing your bladder... Are you drinking more water? You should in hot weather.
Avatar n tn So the real question to ask yourself is whether you have any other symptoms of diabetes, the more typical symptoms such as constant thirst, lethargy, frequent urination, hunger even though you are eating more than usual, etc.
Avatar m tn Go to your doctor and have him perform a physical and run some blood work. It could be a lot of things but be on the safe side and get checked out.
Avatar n tn He visits the dentist regularly, brushes and gargles and everything else under the sun, but the odor still comes and goes. He is very self concious about the frequent urination. It is not until recently that I started thinking that maybe the two are related and maybe a symptom of diabetes? I always thought juvenile diabetes came on quickly and not slowly ( as he has been suffering the symptoms for an extended period of time.) He is quite physically fit and an athlete.

Avatar n tn m thinking that you should take him to his pediatrician and have his blood tested, especially with a family history of diabetes. Another typical symptom that goes along with the increased thirst is frequent urination. If you have noticed this also, make sure you mention this to the doctor along with the irritability you mentioned in your posting. If it is diabetes, the sooner he gets treatment, the better it will be for him both physicially and emotionally (for everyone involved!).
Avatar n tn Recently i have been experiencing extreme thirst, frequent urination and hand shakes. I know theses are some symptoms of diabetes however I have not experienced any weight loss. Is there another possible explanation for my symptoms? Are these enough symptoms to be concerned about possible diabetes?
