Avatar f tn This summer I experienced extreme pain in my right flank along with back pain on the right side and frequent urination. Dr thought it was either kidney stones or a pulled back muscle. After a couple of weeks this pain subsided, however then I developed swelling in my left foot that was thought to be gout. After a couple weeks this too subsided. Since Christmas I have been experiencing back pain on the right side, frequent urination again and occasional lower right abdominal and pelvic pain.

The most common causes of repeated UTIs are kidney stones and diabetes mellitus. Making a diagnosis of a urinary tract infection includes performing a urinalysis test, which checks for the presence of pus, white blood cells, and bacteria in the urine, which point to a urinary tract infection.

Avatar f tn Hello, Kidney diseases have been ruled out by CT scan. Lower back pain and frequent urination can be due to spinal causes causing pinched nerve, diabetes, interstitial cystitis, overactive bladder syndrome, neurological diseases, urinary incontinence and bladder dysfunction. In females, urethritis has to be ruled out.
632093 tn?1230345966 The more intense the internal pain is during urination, the more the spotting is. These two symptoms are hand in hand. If the pain is shorter, the spotting is less. If the pain duration is longer, increased spotting. I have on experienced a UTI one other possible time, about a year ago but there wasn't any spotting then. Can I get descent results from a home test kit from the local drug store?

Avatar n tn On the other hand, cystitis or bladder infection may also present with a feeling of urgency, frequent urination, pain or burning on urinating, abdominal pain, and even fever or chills. If it persists or other symptoms arise, it would be best to have this evaluated further for proper management. Urinalysis and other laboratory tests may be done to confirm the diagnosis. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Could be a kidney infection, bladder infection, or a urinary track infection....or all three at once. I had all three infected at the same time once because I waited to long to go to the doctor when I didn't feel right. Kidney stones could also cause pain and frequent urination. A simple urine test at the doctors will tell you whats up and if an infection should only take an antibiotic to clear up. Waiting to long may only make it worse.

Avatar f tn A neurologic problem, hormonal disorders, pituitary gland problems, a urinary tract infection, increase intake of fluids and certain medications. Certain tests may need to be done to have these differentials excluded. A baseline urinalysis and urine culture, urodynamic studies, and CT scan of the kidney, ureter and bladder may help. I suggest a consult with a urologist to at least rule out an underlying urinary tract infection.

All my dogs get blood panels & Kidney panels yearly, after the age of 5.....I don't like surprises!!! I'm going with a UTI, but to be on the safe side, Rule out other issues, also.....
