Common Questions and Answers about Frequent urination at night in men

frequent-urination

Avatar n tn The iCA just recently put out a new brochure on IC and Men since this is often misdiagnosed in men. We actually have an IC support network on this forum as well: You might want to consider a referral to a pelvic pain PT. They are often able to rule out and pelvic issues, muscular etc. that doctor's are not trained to look for. http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Although I have read that occasionally men will find blood in there semen for one reason or another... But in my case it's all seems like it would have to be one major coincidence, For all of this to be happening and it not be related to my encounter...
Avatar m tn 2 days really nothing. The frequent urination is not because of std just after 2 days.
Avatar f tn frequent urination at night isn't a sign of herpes infection. You need to continue to follow up with your provider for this. It could be many things from too much caffeine/sugar consumption during your waking hours, nerves, infection or even something like diabetes. Stop assuming that everything in your body means herpes and continue to look for other causes with your provider.
Avatar f tn My 18 year old son is having similiar problems. Started 3 months ago. Worse during the day (when sitting). His urinalysis (4 of them) comes back clear with no infection. He's had an ultra-sound that also came back fine. He's gone to two urologist (we didn't like the first one) and both called it Dysuria Frequent Urgency. The second doctor put him on an anti-biotic (sulfameth) just in case there was a slight infection not showing up in test.
Avatar n tn Hi frquent urination in a man at night, could be from a couple of causes, being the prostrate is the most commom. You also urinate alot if the detrusor muscle is overactive, or you suffer with diabetes, etc. My first guess is this could be preostrate related, and your boyfriend needs to go and have this checked out, with an Urologist, a consultant.
Avatar f tn A neurologic problem, hormonal disorders, pituitary gland problems, a urinary tract infection, increase intake of fluids and certain medications. Certain tests may need to be done to have these differentials excluded. A baseline urinalysis and urine culture, urodynamic studies, and CT scan of the kidney, ureter and bladder may help. I suggest a consult with a urologist to at least rule out an underlying urinary tract infection.
Avatar f tn Does anyone else feel they have to urinate more than normal. ...it's so embarrassing but don't even get good night sleep bcz I wake up 4-5 tines every night and sometimes even more. Is it normal or should I contact my doctor. I am only 7 week pregnant.
Avatar n tn I will appreciate any help and thank you since besides my pain now I have potty breaks waking me up at night. I have not slept more than 2 hours in a night for a while now.
Avatar f tn s the last one. There is no pain, and it can happen in the morning or at night, but the nighttime instances bother me more. The pattern is intermittent, with breaks lasting weeks or months. I initially suspected diabetes and tried a diet, leading to very low blood sugar, especially since I am an active person. The urge to urinate returns when I stay up all night, possibly influenced by hot temperatures making my genital sweaty.
Avatar f tn m distracted by other things, but it gets incredibly annoying at night! I keep going to bathroom every 10-15 min to squeeze out few little drops... Some days this keeps me awake for hours. If i do fall asleep, then ill keep sleeping no problem. I've had this problem forever, and even had some urine test done which didnt show anything wrong. Is it all just on my head? Or is my bladder really more sensitive? What can i do to help it? Thanks!
393893 tn?1283551230 Knowing an age would help from any medical pracs in the forum, but def get a prostate and urinary check, could be anything from an infection to diabetes, again I am no doc but having lived for 53 years I have been the route with many of the male problems.
Avatar m tn Thing is this has kind of happened before (well not so much at night!) but I have IBD and when its bad I have in the past got bad pains in my sides at the back and going to the loo more in the day, I was tested several times for UTIs and they thought it was that and i was put on 4 different courses of antibitoics but they never bothered to check the lab results for the urine sample which always came back clear with nothing to culture.

Avatar m tn Recently have had an issue of frequent urination more at night and also at day , once i go , then i feel or have the feeling i need to go immediately and only small amounts or dribble .
Avatar m tn ve been having to urinate a lot during the night, at least 2-3 times. I talked to my primary care and he put me on some Detrol, which I tried for a few days and it did not help. Blood tests showed kidney function was fine..but what could be causing the frequent urination? I only take fish oil and multivitamins. Medical history that I have is cervical stenosis also have herniated discs in the back as well. I am a drinker but have been sober for the past month.
1380526 tn?1292839385 I also have bladder issues as well, in fact I have had 2 uti's and bladder infections from having to go so much in the last year. I am exhausted from having to go so much. I'm up all night long in and out of the restroom. I'd really like a bed pan. As soon as I stand up, I have the urge again. I am starting to think it is Chiari related. I actually had ultrasounds done to have a look at my bladder and all is fine.
Avatar f tn I am a 25 year old female and for the past year or so now I have been getting sudden and frequent urges to urinate. I urinate at least once an hour and most of the time I feel like I have to go again about 15-20 minutes later. It seems to be worse when I'm laying down. I have never experienced incontinence and do not have a urinary tract infection.
Avatar f tn Thanks! Yeah I need to be more careful at night for sure. .. you're lucky you're so close to the bathroom at work mine is kinda far :/ thanks for the advice though I will be trying it!!
Avatar n tn Hi, 44-yr old male, no diabetes (blood test in 3/2008) but for a week now and since drinking 12oz whey protein powder, have had frequent urination. During the day, it's once every 1.5 hour or so and at night, it's about two - three times urination. I workout almost five - six times a week (running on treadmill two and weight training three) so is generally fix with about 10% body fat. After frequent urine for a week, my lower back kind of sore now.
721523 tn?1331581802 I have frequent problems with urination. Difficulty in getting the muscles to relax, urgency (when it's time to go, I gotta go - or I'm going to have an accident.) And today I coughed and wet my pants! I think that's known as stress incontinence - but I haven't had any kids, so I'm blaming it on muscle weakness. Some of my symptoms have stuck around, some have gone away... so it's really just a case of wait and see.
139792 tn?1498585650 The doctor ususally say that at 80, with insomnia, you do more frequent urination. Sombody suggested, at every 10 years after 60, you do add one extra visit two bath room. Any way we have to fight whether it is age related or some alignment related. I have also observed when i am tense, I have more frequent visit to bathroom. As it was not a major problem, i did not bother to rectify. I continue to treat now. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I'm a 17 year old male. Backstory: Last Tuesday (dec 29th) I felt like I had to urinate frequently. I'd go, and possibly 5-10 minutes later I'd feel like I had to go again. Not a lot, mind you. I could even ignore the feeling for the most part, but it was there. I'd be going frequently for the next couple of days but in very little amounts. I went to the Doctor on last Thursday and last Monday and received a urine test both times and they both came out negative for everything.
Avatar n tn If it is really a change for you, it is best to see your doctor as there are a variety of health reasons that cause frequent urination. I found that I was having frequent urination at night and had to limit liquid intake after a certain hour and that certain things cause me to have to go more such as iced tea. ?? Have no idea why but that seems to come straight back out. talk to your doctor if you are having this symptom.
139792 tn?1498585650 Obviously, these two together could mean frequent urination at night. Is your frequent urination caused by an urgency to urinate? Also, it is surprising that a drug used to get sound sleep could produce just the opposite effect. Incidentally, it is a drug specifically used for special cases of anxiety and some sites mention that it should not be used as a sleeping pill.
