304970 tn?1331425994 I THINK (so not sure) it was natesmomma that originally posted the link about the pregnancy journal that was free and all you had to pay was the $3.99 shipping and handling? Well.. I ordered it and still haven't received it? I was wondering if anyone else ordered it and if so, how long did it take to receive? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Adam Drewnowski and Allen S. Levine write in the "Journal of Nutrition" that added sugar and fat make up more than 50 percent of the typical American diet and contributes to the obesity epidemic. Craving sweets after a meal can hamper weight loss efforts. You try to deny the craving, only making it more pronounced. If you indulge the craving, stopping with a small serving may be impossible for you.
441690 tn?1327078843 htm A good diet, that is hopefully free of sugars (tumors love sugar...unless you are doing a special diet that uses sugar/glucose for cancer fighting), is the best bet. The NCI has free book(s) on this. www.cancer.gov with free recipie guides and more. If you are interested in some other supplemention, I have a few articles located at: http://www..****..
Avatar f tn The Zig Zag diet is determined by following a simple formula. Take the number of calories you should be eating to maintain your weight using a calculator such as that provided by the site Free Dieting. Next, determine your weight-loss goal. A pound of fat requires a weekly caloric deficit of approximately 3500 calories. Using a traditional diet plan, this means eating about 500 fewer calories per day.
Avatar f tn I follow a gluten free diet. I have celiac disease. So far it hasn't been easy. I used to pretty much live on tuna fish and lunch meat and now I can't have either. I'm afraid I won't get the nutrients my baby and myself need but I am trying. Luckily many grocery stores around me carry gluten free foods and there is a strict gluten free/dairy free/vegan bakery close by if I get a sweet tooth.

Avatar f tn I have done some reading online about diets and endometriosis and was wondering if anyone has any advice or further information relating to this. I have found that a gluten free diet has made a difference with the pain and try to avoid too many dairy products and preservative rich foods. Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of a website where you can keep an online diary or journal that doesn't necessarily have to be made public? Is there one on here? I honestly haven't had the time or energy to look or research. When you're this depressed, the last thing you have is the right state of mind to be googling stuff like that, so I was hoping that someone might know the answer for me.

1346724 tn?1282322904 One of my friends has her son on the Gluten Free diet and she thinks he has been calmer. Her son is severely autistic and at 19, wears protective underclothing and is non-verbal. He used to lash out more than he does now & she attributes that to his change in diet and the therapy he is getting to stimulate him.
Avatar n tn I'm curious as to whether or not the casein and gluten-free diet is one that needs to be adhered to for the entirety of a person's life who has autism and has found it to help? What happens if my son's autism improves because of this diet but he goes back to consuming casein and gluten some day? Will his autistic symptoms reappear or have they been cured?
616450 tn?1228433627 Folks, I talked to my endocrinologist about the way certain foods seem to affect my thyroid. She said nothing I eat can help or hurt my thyroid, but I could swear I feel it almost HURT about a half hour after I eat a lot of dairy. Also, if I eat something like Sun Chips--or any thing else with a lot of enriched wheat flour, etc.--I feel it as well along with a "pumped up" feeling. I read some about it online, but the endo claims it doesn't have much to do with my diet.
Avatar n tn There are several websites on which you can keep a food journal or even just start a journal here on MedHelp; I also understand that MedHelp is coming out with a food journal in the near future... Make sure you get plenty of exercise - it will not only help burn calories, but it will help give you more energy. Good luck and keep posting.

Keep a food journal and a journal for your experience, it really helps. Try low impact exercise if you can, build up slowly. I suggest a book- The Healer Within by Roger Jahnke - get the hardcover - it is out of print but available at alibris.com -It has really helped me get through this trying experience.

Male My doctor has told me I need to move to a gluten-free diet....yikes!!! All my life (and that is a very long time--ha ha) I have generally eaten whatever I wanted to eat. This change to a GF diet seems like such a huge mountain to climb. I know there are many others who have had to change to a GF diet after a lifetime of eating what they wanted with little or no restrictions. How does a person even get started on a change like this? What do you do when you go out to eat at a restaurant?
