Avatar n tn I went to a doctor and was ordered a complete blood test, liver function test and lipid tests. Everything was normal except for Bilirubin which was 1.6 (normal 0.3 - 1.2) and cholestral which was 220 (LDL - 170). I was said that it is normal for some people to have moderately high bilirubin since the other tests were in normal range. Can somebody help me with what might be the cause for my dark yellow urine?
Avatar m tn Is your good eye 20/15 without glasses? And your refraction in the left eye? Also, get a PAM or RAM test to see if the retina will see better than 20/40. If it gets to 20/25 or better consider removal of the cataract. Dr. O.
Avatar n tn Go to a neurologist and ask to have a neuropsych test done. it helps them determine what is causing the memory issues. All they do is a bunch of test and memory test with you to help you find out whats wrong.
Avatar f tn The ranges are so broad that just being in the lower half of the range frequently results in hypo symptoms. Many members say that symptom relief required Free T3 in the upper part of its range and Free T4 around the middle of its range. If you will please post his thyroid related test results, and reference ranges shown on the lab report, we will be better able to comment further. Also, what thyroid medication and dosage is he taking daily?
Avatar f tn So you need to make sure they always test you for Free T4 and Free T3 every time you go in for tests. I expect that you will find that your Free T3 level is inadequate. You also need to get tested for Reverse T3, which is a mirror image molecule of T3, but biologically inactive. T4 is converted in the body to T3 and Reverse T3. Under some adverse conditions, excess Reverse T3 will be produced, which then adversely affect metabolism of T3 in the cells.
Avatar n tn reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
Avatar m tn Ram, please do not worry about your life expectancy. You could walk out on the street tomorrow and be hit by a bus! But I will quote my old GI doctor "I've seen some people live up to late 70s with this disease and the disease is not what kills them, it's usually something else". And my favorite from him was "I've never put a patient in the grave because of Hepatitis B and I never plan to do so either!" Relax, take it easy.
Avatar n tn There were some other results, I did not understand like EIA positive, RPR negative and FTA positive. If my memory serves me well, I tested positive for syphilis or some STD forty years ago, was treated. Would these diseases still show in your blood 40 years later? How common are flase positives?
Avatar m tn Just got the call from my Doctor and I'm virus free so glad...
Avatar f tn Steff already told you in one of his posts what to test, the IgM. Below is more information on what the different parts of HBV are. You need to for sure test HBcAb IgM and IgG (read below). This will tell if it's acute or chronic. If acute as an adult you have a super high chance to clear and if chronic you have had much longer than you think.
Avatar f tn Similar to Ram, my husband didn't get HBV after us being together for 4-5 years. He now has had the vaccination series and is protected. My children also do not have HBV. Those that are HbeAg negative with lower viral load are less infectious than someone that is HBeAg positive with high viral load. Like Ram said, take vaccination series and then after complete test antibody titers, since you want to be sure you respond to vaccine to ensure protection.
Avatar f tn Your TSH is normal, but in your case with symptoms it's very important to check your free T4 and free T3. Without these values you shouldn't try medication, first get those results, then your doctor will see if further analyses are required. I would check also anaemia (Hb, ferritin, transferin, iron in serum, folic acid , Vit B12) and a full blood count.
16295492 tn?1446924672 Instead of the Total T4 test that was done, she should be tested for the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T4 and Free T3. Typically when TSH is the range, then Free T4 and free t3 will be in the lower part of their ranges. Sometimes doctors will interpret this as being adequate; however, the most important consideration is whether she is having hypothyroid symptoms.
198727 tn?1352054382 TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables that at best it is an indicator, to be considered along with much more important indicators such as symptoms (of which you have plenty), and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4. Of these Free T3 is the most important, because it largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions.
Avatar f tn t diagnostic. He said he would do the dexamethasone test instead of the 24 hour urine test (I suspect he thinks it'll be difficult for me because I pee anywhere from 15-20 times a day lol) but if this comes back normal I'm going to press him to do the urine test in a few weeks anyways.
