Avatar f tn My daughter and her hubby are getting a divorce. In this state you gotta come up with 2600.00 minimum to get a divorce attorney. Is it like this all over?

Avatar f tn Another place to get free legal advice is that law schools usually run free clinics. Call the dean's office and ask if there is a clinic where low-income people or no-income people can go to discuss divorce. (I know you aren't married, but this will put you in touch with the right clinic.) They don't charge, and law students do the lion's share of the work but they are supervised directly by their professor, who is a lawyer that goes to court with you.
Avatar f tn The problem is not so much how old he is but how old you are, if the age of consent in your state is not as young as 17. Check what I say because I am not sure, but it seems as though unless someone plans to go after him for statutory rape charges, I don't *think* that putting his name on the birth certificate will trigger an investigation. In other words, the registrar of births is not the police. That said, you should seriously get some legal advice before the baby comes.
Avatar f tn First...thank you ladies for all the feedback. Update: I did tell my lawyer that I'm pregnant and that it's not my soon to be ex husbands. My lawyer wrote up the settlement and cleverly noted that I'm pregnant ...not with his child and in a way that my ex won't know that I'm expecting. It's legal and my ex won't find out through the divorce papers or at all if I can help it. I did all that worrying for nothing and you all are great for the support!!!
Avatar m tn In the meantime, going to a therapist to deal with some of the stress could help you focus and the therapist might even be able to instruct you on a clear plan of action. Try some legal forums that are free for advice. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I am in the process of filling for divorce we have been seperated a long time i have been with my bf the dad since jan. I am due end of dec and was wondering if my divorce isnt finalized by then will there be any issues?
Avatar f tn t do it again only for me to discover him doing it again. I threatened divorce and asked him to be separated and let his parents know. Am at my parents house but do not want to be a burden on them. I work with my husband and I have my money invested into the business. Now if I leave him he won't return me a penny and I honestly can't bear to be stressed and be with a person who dont respect me.
5624774 tn?1374284525 Anyways i am needing to go back to work soon because i have some things coming up to pay for (a stupid decision i made when i was 19, i got married, was only together a very short time and its been wayyy too long and i need to do the legal paperwork to get a divorce, just haven't yet cuz its expensive).
1530342 tn?1405016490 Originally from Lehi, the Browns, who have 16 children, has been featured on the TLC reality show since last fall. They moved out of Utah to Nevada in January after police and Utah County prosecutors launched a bigamy investigation. No charges were ever filed. The Browns practice polygamy as part of their religious beliefs. Bigamy is a third-degree felony in Utah. A person can be found guilty of bigamy through cohabitation, not just legal marriage contracts.
Avatar f tn If they are high (court fees and legal fees), why not just go to Vegas? I think you can get a divorce there very fast.
Avatar f tn Luckily my x n I are n agreement over everything in our divorce and we are pushing the divorce before i start showing on the advice of a mutual attorney friend. Each state has different laws regarding the situation. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Iust have a quick question was wondering if anybody had any insight or has been in the same situation. I am currently separated from my husband. We are going through a divorce, and the father of my child and myself are not together either. I am do in early August. I do not know if he will have the divorce finalized by then. I know I can give her my maiden name, but my question is can I sign with my maiden name on the birth certificate? Or does it have to be my legal name at the moment?
Avatar f tn So my mother in law lives in Idaho & we live in Utah. We use to go down once a month or so before I got pregnant. She does not have a car and the past couple of times she has wanted to come down my sister in law has had to go get her. She was down here 2weeks ago & we took her back, well on the drive back I swelled up really bad and had to be rushed to l&d my doctor told me do not travel to far sense my daughter is suppose to be here soon, it's not to good.
Avatar f tn I am 21 and pregnant with my first child. I am 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I take my prenatals every day and do everything suggested but I'm really worried and finding a doctor is showing to be complicated. I live 2 states away from all my family and my parents are not really supportive of this at all. I just reapplied for medical but they said that can take 30 days.
Avatar n tn Hello. I have had type I diabetes for 31 years. I am now 47 and getting divorce after 20 years of marriage. We have three kids daughter 20, and two boys, age 14 and 11. I do not want the divorce but that isn't going to stop it unfortunately. My wife is claiming my diabetic condition and emotional state makes me not able to have legal and joint physical custody of the boys.
Avatar m tn Even if divorce seems to be the emotional answer, also be guided by your lawyer for the legal answer. If you leave, she could claim you abandoned the family. And right now, with you working 60 hours and helping to take care of the kids, you can prove that you did not. So don't give her that. I agree with the others that she probably has made up her mind. But this does not mean you should roll over.
Avatar n tn You told her you wanted to divorce? You went to see a lawyer, or had divorce papers presented to her? Until they day the legal process is complete (and I don't know where you live, so what the process is there or how long it takes) then you are not divorced, and you can stop that process at any time. Do you WANT to divorce your wife? Does she want to be divorced from you? jrobertson is right - the alcohol and meds will affect your judgement.
Avatar f tn I'm newly pregnant about 4 wks here's issue, I have been legally married for 17 years but for the last 7 years not with "ex"husband at all. We live together in separate rooms because I want to raise my 4 older children and can't afford a divorce since all our assets are tied together. I've been with another man for the last 4 years privately and in love .. Next year I was planning to take action and make things happen as in divorce papers ..
Avatar f tn Talk to someone in your location who is either a lawyer or a paralegal that does this kind of work. A lot of Legal Aid clinics do boatloads of divorce and child support stuff, because that is one of the biggest problems people have that they need legal help for.
Avatar n tn Idk what the laws are where you are but here in KY you can not file for divorce until the child is born. You can file for legal separation but that is it. I would go ahead and call a lawyers and see what the rules are in your area. You may be able to file but not go to court until after baby is here. In divorce papers they will set up child support, visitation, medical support for baby etc.
