monopril

Avatar f tn i have been on monopril(fosinopril) for many years- and it also helps to protect the kidneys. since starting Tx my BP spiked, and they added Tiazac.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik). It should be noted that this research was not done as a clinical trial but rather an 'observational study' where older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia were being studied. About a quarter were on ACE inhibitors and they observed this benefit.
Avatar n tn From what I understand, plaque can begin to accumulate from childhood. As a child, I was spoiled through treats and dining out. Being from the south our diners were cooked by the motto that gravy and bacon made everything taste better. What can be done to reverse plague that has build up for 30 something years? Other than exercise and diet, is there any kind of treatment, medication, "super-food" (the fad of the day it seems) that will do the trick?
Avatar n tn can I drink the juice of 1 grapefruit a day, if I am taking metoprolol and fosinopril for blood pressure? My blood pressure is completely controled.
Avatar f tn I still want children very badly and was told that basically, there were meds that I can take instead of Lisinopril, but I would have to stop taking Coreg. Of course, I would just have to see how I would do without Coreg... Are there any alternatives to Coreg?
Avatar m tn I have been taking Lisinopril for 2 years and since then my resting heart rate is between 90-100. Here recently though after I take Lisinopril it has jumped to 130 when walking 100 when resting. I take Lisinopril in the morning and my pulse jumps but at night it gos back to being okay (Lisinopril's half life is 12 hours). I haven't taken today because I was out but my resting pulse is 90 and when I went to WalMart it went no higher than 110 unlike 140 yesterday.
548642 tn?1266179652 ve had a previous addiction to opiates in any form, then you may need to proceed with caution. Opiates are known to replicate the virus. You really need to talk this over with your doctor. Unfortunately I was exposed to a litany of drugs as a youth 1968-69. Environmentally they were all around me, I happened to be one of a handful to become addicted. First I had a habit of taking codeine #4 and reds, I don't even know if they still make those.
Avatar f tn After several complaints, he then placed me on 10 mg, and 50 mg of atenenol, is there any other beta blocker to take place of atenenol, it causes my legs to cramp and feet to swell.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 40 mg lisinopril for 3 months. It works on my BP but I am coughing and my nose is running.
630309 tn?1222446259 My physician started me on Lisinopril 20mg every day to help lower my blood pressure on 9/23. I had a follow up appointment today and he increased it to 30mg every day. Is this normal? It seems a little to soon to be increasing a medication after only taking it for 3 days.
Avatar f tn So it would be important to try to distinguish whether the cough is related to the med or to the CHF (ie due to fluid in the lungs). However, if you only started to cough after starting the lisinopril, I would suspect it could be the drug. In which case, I would switch you to a "cousin" drug of lisinopril (one of many that fall under the class of drugs called ARBs---for angiotensin receptor blockers).
Avatar n tn However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.
Avatar m tn Lisinopril is not a medication known to result in withdrawal effects when the dose is reduced or the drug is stopped. After you have reduced the dose, your doctor will recheck your blood pressure to see if the lower dose is keeping your blood pressure in the desired range. The typical range is 10-40mg per day for hypertension (high blood pressure), but it can be effective at the 5mg dose to maintain your blood pressure.
Avatar n tn I take 10mg of lexapro per day, plus 25mg of Hydrocklorothiazide, 50mg of Atenolol and 20mg of Lisinopril. When I started to take the Lisinopril, I would wake up in the middle of the night with my heart racing and feeling as if I had a panic attach. I sucked it up and got used to the med over time and it stopped happening. My blood pressure is still not really under control, at the doc's office I am slightly up 135/89 etc.
Avatar f tn found out I am pregnant and am taking Lisinopril 10mg. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar n tn Have you tried Lisinopril?
Avatar n tn I've been on 10 mg. lisinopril for a few months. My blood pressure was about 144/88 in docs office when I started. Now it ranges from 130s/75 to 90s/60s. Usually it's about 115/73. I get dizzy sometimes - like in morning yoga when I stand up. When do you recommend reducing dosage - or maybe reducing the day before yoga? thank you.
Avatar n tn Maybe trying a diuretic (hydrochlorthiazid) and lowering the dose of Lisinopril? Please tell what do you think of the doses to start trying, how often and when during the day? (P.S. if you think of another drug/combination may be more effective trying, it would be a great help).
Avatar f tn Is there a reason to be taking Lisinopril and Metoprolol at the same time if they are both indicated for hypertension?
Avatar n tn On the 30 day follow up from hospitalization and another echocardiobram I was told my heart function was up to 30%. My lisinopril went from 10 to 20 mg. On my 30 day follow-up office visit from the following cardiocatherization I was told my heart was functioning at 25% even though I was feeling better than before I had the cardiac event in December. Even though I was feeling better the doctor increased my lisinopril to 40mg. I don't get it.
Avatar f tn This intermediate is activated to form cyclic N-anhydride by using N,N-carbonyldiimidazole and coupled with L-proline methyl ester hydrochloride to give fully protected lisinopril derivative, which is converted into crude lisinopril by hydrolysis.
Avatar n tn I was curious if anybody has read or experienced where Lisinopril can cause PVC'S. I first noticed early beats shortly after my Lisinopril dose was increeased to 20mg from 10mg, I take for mild high blood pressure. I informed my doctor about this coorelation but he dismissed it. If my research is correct, Lisinopril can take about 7 hours to begin to work in the body and reaches it's peak potency after about 12 hours.
Avatar n tn I used to get awful pains in my chest and my vision was affected (Blurry vision, and floaters appeared in my right eye) I also felt as if I wasnt here (Light headed and when I walked I felt as if I was veering to one side) The same thing happened when the Doc doubled my dose of Lisinopril to 5mg all those symptons came back again. Instead of making me feel better I felt a 100% worse, that is how I am only taking 2.5 mg Lisinopril now.
Avatar m tn these effects last about 22 hours and subside just before the next dose, and then come again about an hour after I take lisinopril would it be safe to switch back to 5mg as the effects are less severe or should I talk to my PCP about a different BP med.
Avatar f tn Would anyone here know, how long it would take lisinopril, a BP medication to remylinate the brain? I am referring to the study. Done at Stanford, where the rats with MS were given Lisinopril.
Avatar m tn Hi, carvedilol is a beta blocker and is indicated for the treatment of mild-to-severe chronic heart failure. Lisinopril is angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, used to treat hypertension and heart failure, So, check with your doctor why the medications have been prescribed, it may not be for hypertension alone.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. For the past month or so I have been experiencing some weird symptoms and I'm not sure where it's stemming from. It started in late May. I am a college student and was stressed from finals, and noticed my hands and feet were tingling. I have never felt such a tingling before. I had no other symptoms at the time and it wasn't painful, just bizarre. I summed it up to stress since I am a high anxiety person and after a week it went away. Now in June I am worried.
