15695260 tn?1549593113 Common medications in this class of drugs are commonly used medications such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), lisinopril (Prinivil or Zestril), perindopril (Aceon), ramipril (Altace) and trandolapril (Mavik). It should be noted that this research was not done as a clinical trial but rather an 'observational study' where older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia were being studied. About a quarter were on ACE inhibitors and they observed this benefit.
Avatar f tn Almost all levels were normal except for sodium, triglycerides, and VLDL; all of which were mildly low. Specifically, the levels were: Sodium: 133 mmol/L (normal range 134-145) Triglycerides: 45mg/dl (normal range 50-150) VLDL: 9 mg/dl (normal range 10-31) I am concerned mostly about my sodium level. I have read that low sodium level can be caused by a thyroid issue, but my TSH came back at 1.37ulU/ml (normal range 0.40-4.00).
Avatar f tn ve read over alot of posts, but not seen anyone mention diet restrictions. Anyone? My doctor has instructed me to have no added sodium...nothing in a box, bottle, jar, or can, etc. Also has restricted my fluid intake to 24 ounces a day. I find the fluid restriction to be almost impossible, but if I get off track too much, my belly will swell up and the pitting edema in my legs gets worse. Has anyone experienced these sympoms, etc.? Thanks!
Avatar f tn So my blood pressure isnt low as most Addisons patients are, I dont take fludrocortisone any more as my BP went really high, I just take 12.5mg Hydrocortisone a day. Even if I take 10mg Hydrocortisone at 8am by 5.30pm before my 2.
1485372 tn?1359545131 When I had severe low sodium levels I was placed on fluid restriction. No more than 24 oz of liquid per day. It was terrible but it worked and I.lived that way for 7 yrs until they found what caused it.

1767754 tn?1313873884 Hello, I have been given Citalopram 10mg to take and not sure if I should or not. I have been dealing with issues for about a year now of getting lightheaded and feeling of passing out which I have done a few times, very scary, hot/cold flashes, sweats, crying spells, numbness of feet and tingleing in my right pinky, ear ringing and many more issues. I have went to an ENT, neurologist, cardiologist.

Avatar f tn That's just it, I believe the endo is not "thinking" at all. She specializes in diabetes. I'm not her patient demographic. She didn't give me any protocol to follow after my ACTH stim test, she said the result was good because it showed my adrenal gland did response to stress, but was sluggish. I didn't even get above the upper limit of normal range though, never mind double my baseline. geez.
Avatar m tn Usually, sodium and potassium work together so if you balance sodium, potassium is fine. I drop sodium and potassium too (normal is to drop sodium and spike potassium). AI can be caused by different things - like pituitary tumor, auto-immune adrenal disease, or removal of the adrenals - that I know.
337492 tn?1212458836 I took one yesterday morning because I am scared of all this. Today I saw my Pdoc and she said it was fine that I cut my sodium down to the normal 2,400mg a day. It amazed me that some days, especially when I made stir-fry I was taking in 13,000! So, I know part of it is my sodium intake. My Pdoc decided to try and wean me off of Lithium due to the water retention I have which caused me to gain 25 pounds this past year. I was amazed since my clothes still fit.
Avatar n tn Have your husband evaluated by his surgeon. He may have some inflammation of his laryngeal nerve following the operation. In most cases, this usually resolves with time.
Avatar m tn My most recent drug combinations are (1) 30mg Remeron/Mirtazapine, (2) 150mg Quetiapine/Seroquel, (3) 500mg Epilim/ Sodium Valporate everyday and (4) 10mg prozac every other day. This seems to work well, but I wonder what the long term consequences will be. Could you enlighten me?
Avatar f tn My blood pressure was around 155 over 110. I’m a 46 year old male and a regular drinker. I was put on 10/10mg perimdopral amlodipine tablets. My blood pressure seems to fluctuate from normal to high again and then normal. I went back to the dr who didn’t seem too worried. I can’t find any answers and going back to the drs will just result in the same issues. Feeling a bit lost and my anxiety is sky high because of this. Does anyone have any suggestions or like experiences? Thank you.

Avatar m tn s main ingredient Naproxen sodium is for the relief of inflammation, pain and stiffness. It is commonly taken by persons with arthritis. If you have arthritis you should see a doctor. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Alright, I have tried everything that has been advised to me for constipation. I am 9 weeks, 2 days along. Even pre-pregnancy, I am a health freak and do eat fresh fruits and veggies everyday as well as fruit and nut bars. I have tried apple juice, prune juice, and normally coffee gets me to go but I am at the point now to where I am giving into OTC stuff. I found some stool softener in the cabinet, it's the Equate brand of Colace -- it has Docusate sodium (50mg) and Sennosides (8.6mg).
Avatar f tn Son went into detox yesterday for heroin, just found a vial of liquid sodium chloride in his room, what was this for?
704458 tn?1236841243 c o m and there they have a daily plate section you fill in what you eat and drink, they work out the calories and the protein, carbs, sugar, fibre, cholesterol and sodium levels - I have been shocked to see that for instance: 2 slices of white bread a little light flora spread ketchup 2 pancakes 1 medium baked potatoe 3oz cheese half tin baked beans Takes me to: 151.47% of my daily allowance of sodium 100.8% of my daily allowance of carbs 101.32 % of my daily allowance of protein. WOW....
Avatar m tn what can happen with prolonged use of Docusate Sodium? i've been taking 2 with each meal for over a year.
Avatar m tn After reading a couple of articles about the sodium ascorbate I think it is worth a try.A person need 20gm per day for 10 days.Vitamin C is cheap and comes in 1gm tablets. One would have to take 20 in 24 hours. That would be 4 tablets 5 times a day for 10 days.I have always said that during detox if a person feels compelled to take a tablet because they are used to taking tablets for everything,'take a couple vitamins c 1000mg.
Avatar f tn Yes low sodium levels can be dangerous, have you tried drinking some sport drinks? http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C549291.
